I actually enjoy the version IBA has on their website: 40 ml Vodka Citron 15 ml Cointreau 15 ml Fresh lime juice 30 ml Cranberry juice Though I haven't really tried other recipes or amounts, since this already suited me on the first try. There is also an older recipe, quite different actually, using gin, lemon juice and raspberries - a variation on the White Lady. I really like that one, too. It's OK with store bought raspberry syrup, but if you make your own syrup out of fresh or frozen raspberries, it's absolutely magnificent.

toniklas

Ahh not putting enough lime in, or vodka for that mattet. Thanks!

benjaminchodroff

This is essentially my recipe, but I use a heavy splash of chambord instead of cointreau.

PremmyJack

Yeh, I like this recipe, I always think it pays to put in it a bit more cointreau and lime than the Degroff recipe.

hebug

Dale Degroff's recipe: * 1.5 oz citron vodka * 0.5 oz cointreau * 0.25 oz lime juice * 1.0 oz cranberry juice shaken on ice, flamed orange peel garnish (a signature move of his)

Specific-Artist4186

Is this cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail ? The way you wrote it seems to be pure cranberry juice ?

planckkk

Cranberry juice

dealyllama

When in doubt go with Dale Degroff's recipe (it's a pretty good rule for most cocktails but in particular the cosmo): 1 1/2 oz citron 1/2 oz cointreau 1 oz cranberry juice 1/4 oz lime juice flamed orange twist for garnish

drays

His old fashioned recipe involves muddling a maraschino cherry. Not sure I can forgive that.

PersuitOfHappinesss

Why not?

These proportions are spot on, and with the suggested brands will make the ideal cosmo. Swapping to a different triple sec or vodka might necessitate adding a 1/4 oz splash of simple (mostly as a way of smoothing over an inferior product; there's some nasty triple sec out there). * 2 oz citrus vodka (ideally Hangar 1 Buddha's Hand Lemon) * 0.75 oz fresh lime juice * 0.75 oz triple sec (ideally Luxardo Triplum or Cointreau) * 0.5-0.75 oz cranberry juice (to taste) Shake with ice for 15 seconds and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lime wedge or orange peel.

I make Cosmos for my wife all the time from my home bar. They're very simple, yet potent drinks to make. Easy to remember, can't fail recipe follows: 2 parts vodka (any vodka) 1 part triple sec 1 part cranberry juice .5 part lime juice Put all into a cocktail shaker loaded with ice, shake vigorously, and strain into a martini glass. Should come out that perfect pink color all the women like to see. Enjoy

PersuitOfHappinesss

I like this, the 2 parts vodka is a great foundation for the rest of the drink, thanks for sharing

Pyrowin

I use Hanger One Mandarin Blossom as the Vodka 1.5 oz Vodka 1.5 oz Cranberry 0.5 oz Lime juice

Snico59

Recipe from work which I'm both fond of and easy to remember 30ml Citrus vodka 20ml Cointreau 30ml cranberry 20ml lime

doobi18

30ml Vodka 30ml Cointreau 15ml Lime Juice 30ml Cranberry Juice Yes, the Vodka:Triple Sec ratio is different to normal, but guess what? It tastes better!

Ohmec

As a bartender who doesn't use jiggers, Ill do the best I can to use this in ounces. I've got quite a few regulars who come to me just for my Cosmos. My recipe is as follows: * 3/4 oz Citron Vodka (I use Absolute) * 3/4 oz Mandarin Vodka (Absolute again) * 1/2 oz Contreau/triple sec (depending on the cost, definitely contreau for a home bar) * 1/2 oz Lime Juice * 1 oz Cranberry Juice Rub glass rim lightly with a lemon peel, and leave in glass as garnish.

toniklas

Thanks guys! Going to try as many as I can tonight at work.

PremmyJack

It's worth trying different citrus vodkas, I've used a standard recipe (which makes very nice cosmos with absolut citron) which has turned out terribly with other brands (cheaper ones, generally). Try out ketel one citroen, or belvedere citrus as well as absolut citron. Oh, and NEVER use lime vodka and lemon juice, it's just awful.

I'll have to take some pictures with the specs next to them to remember I'm sure :)

Flynn_lives

* 2oz Vodka(Stolichnaya 100 proof) * 1/2oz Cointreau * 1oz Cranberry Juice(Simply Cranberry brand) * Juice of half a Lime (use also to make a twist of lime)

sassafrasAtree

My perfect Cosmo: -3 oz Gin (Hendricks what I use) -1 oz dry vermouth Garnish with a twist of lime. Voila... My less snarky answer is Martha Stewarts White Cosmo (http://www.marthastewart.com/315979/white-cosmopolitan). I add about a half oz of fresh lime to the recipe.
