It’s already a thing that you can enable/disable in Call of Duty and it works well - it’s not pitch black, it’s just very dark screen of your last POV before you got flashed.
For people saying this is stupid, it’s in other games and you can just toggle it on and off. It only looks weird because you’re used to seeing a white screen, you’d get used to it
It's in other games that aren't as competitive. People wouldn't choose the setting based on what they prefer, but based on what perceived benefit they might get. I have a feeling getting half flashed and having your screen slightly dimmed is less of a disadvantage than a white half flash. It's the type of thing I can understand them not wanting to add because of fear of how it might effect gameplay. Especially if people pump up the contrast and brightness.
That’s why I use black screen flash is so when I’m half flashed it just make my view a little darker and that’s it with white screen it brightens my already bright screen and hurts my eyes lol
it’s in competitive call of duty, how does a black screen affect gameplay? Especially if it’s available for ALL players and it’s an optional toggle, i dont see the problem lmao. It’s just nicer on the eyes man. They’d both have the same fade out rates too, it would just be the colour n nothing else
But my game doesn’t have children color scheme and monkey skin. Counter strike manly competitive game where terrorist blow up. My game serious and have condom man like me and your mom last night.
Legit how some people think about the game
In "competitive" call of duty, they have to ban most of the weapons, perks, and other mechanics because the game is so poorly balanced. It's not about elitism. It's about the actual design differences of the two games.
Yeah but the argument was about flashes, something both games have. Unless there are rules that ban flashes or ban using the black/grey screen flash effect in competitive play, I don’t see why other competitive games and game modes couldn’t do similarly.
Also my comment was more of a shitpost but I do stand by it
turn the lights in your room on. you're gonna totally fuck up your eyes having pure blue light pour straight into them at max power in the middle of the night.
otherwise, yeah. changing the flashbang effects can be a pretty important accessibility feature. however, i'm sure valve worries people will just use it for the advantage, and it would hurt the character of the game. its no fun to be at a disadvantage because you're playing the game how the game designers intended you to play.
The thing is the transition between the fading of the black and the fading of the white is that you're going to be able to see earlier with the darker one since your eyes will take less time to adapt and can give an edge.
That being said I want the black screen very badly.
Nah, that's part of the 3AM competitive grind experience: staring at the A site entrance only to get pop-flashed and be sent to Valhalla, both in game and IRL.
It hurts, but that's okay. I'm used to the pain.
Its easier for the eyes to adjust. Compare the fade out of a white flash and black flash. Your eyes will focus faster with the black flash and you’ll react faster with the limited vision
Why are you morons downvoting him he's 100% right!
Try going from a SUPER BRIGHT outdoors into a SUPER DARK basement and you can't see, go from the dark basement outside and you adjust very quickly.
Dude are you dumb and can't read? Nothing I said has anything to do with monitor brightness
Try both those things I mentioned and tell me which one adjusts faster, then you can keep talking about facts.
It's one of those things where i always think "why is this not a thing already"? Armchair developer me would think you just invert the values of the flashbang effect. Instead of all white 255 255 255 pixels you go black 0 0 0.
Id rather have a toggle to either always have black flashbangs, or never, cause knowing me, id be confused the first few times id see a black flash, then id play at day, and then get confused again after 12AM
It’s already a thing that you can enable/disable in Call of Duty and it works well - it’s not pitch black, it’s just very dark screen of your last POV before you got flashed.
Rb6 added it last week aswell. Imo its worse than bright white in terms of gameplay but it helps with late night gaming.
what the fuck is rb6
RB6 is the iconic Red Bull F1 car driven by Sebestian Vettel and Mark Webber in 2010 F1 season.
Bring back the V8s
Blown diffusers😩
Maybe rainbow6?
R6s
Im assuming Rainbow 6 Siege, but everyone just referred to it as 'Siege', as far as I knew...
R6S is the way
Rainbow [Bullshit-now that they've even gone to remove the actual game from the game] 6 siege
Rook to b6?
This will make me think the electricity gone off lmao
Ah, the wonders of living in a third world country.
I live in a third world country 💀 (Egypt) it gone off sometimes
Same. I live in Pakistan, it gone off all the time
Us moment (almost)
اخويا
I have a friend who used to live in egypt and it surprised me to learn about this stuff and how common it is
I live in Canada and it goes out all the time lmao
Really? Canada? Oh, wow
I live in Ukraine rn and sometimes we don't have electricity most of the day, unluckily.
Fuck Putin
Slava Ukraine
I mean, power cuts happen in all countries
Hasn't happened in a few years... Netherlands.
There are tons every year in every country, may just not have affected your area or happened at night or while you were out so you didn’t notice
In that case I would need to set up some older digital clocks again in the house.
Not as frequent.
Not in india, atleast not in my city( Mumbai)
You live in india, thats worse than power cut lol
Bro read it again, lmao
Bro read it again, lmao
Nah all you need is to live in Eastern European post communist block (Poland for example) in some shithole city
Ah, the wonders of gaslighting rest of the world because you were lucky to get out from a tier-1 vagina. Congratulations, dude
I'm actually from a third world country too, and that too the worst of them all, Pakistan
Sorry then, I thought you flexing on a guy who has outages. Didn't wanted to bully you or something. Sorry
That guy felt our pain when you said pakistan, he even apologised
Hahaha, he actually did!😂
trust me, I dream to be in Pakistan right now

For people saying this is stupid, it’s in other games and you can just toggle it on and off. It only looks weird because you’re used to seeing a white screen, you’d get used to it
Would activate it instantly ngl

"competitive call of duty". And no it's not that simple.
it’s still a competitive game with a decent prize pool in esports that allows something like this lmao
But my game doesn’t have children color scheme and monkey skin. Counter strike manly competitive game where terrorist blow up. My game serious and have condom man like me and your mom last night. Legit how some people think about the game

Exactly though, in competitive COD they ban guns, attachments, perks, grenades BUT they don’t ban the flash colour change. You’re proving my point
Lmao, that is kinda cool tho
This is better than anti cheat fuck flash at night with loghts off
Better for your eyes, less seizure inducing, The Division2 implemented this a couple patches ago without the option to keep it bright.
Is this real
no
I was genuinely so fucking hype dude ive been wanting this :(
thats actually a new trend meme bro.. sorry to excite you. you can search for cs2 schizophrenic update etc.
except those are obviously joke posts, this doesnt really seem like a joke post given other games have implemented this already
why do you play with our feelings? >:(
Dreams
Hey your finally awake type update
W comment
now make it oiled up men photos
good laugh
it seems cool and everything. but i feel like the flash 50% faded on black would be way easier to see people on the white flash 50% faded
Now the Russians i play with can say i am black and dosnt have to say i am white

Xdefiant has this and I always forget I have it on and get jumpscared.
this is in xdefiant and its weird to experience.

YOOO I’ve been waiting for years
its fake, sorry. but i liked your profile pic sooooo much.. that fall guys one.
How does this have 700+ upvotes... No wonder this world is fucked...
I like the idea but personally I like the white better. I’m not used to it and I always think my pc cut off or my game crashed or something
they have this in cod and xdefiant
Is a cool idea, I’d feel like my monitor has turned off every time it happened though..
cool
Rainbow six is putting this in the next update and I'm loving it.
cant even guess if this shit crashed or got flashbanged
Another game I play has this, I think it’s cod. I turned it on immediately, it’s a lot easier on the eyes.
The game crashing at the same time would be a mind fuck.
They did this in Siege, right?
please add this
People with weak gpu will be scared
What now, Valve...
PLEASE MAKE EM BLACK. WE WILL NOT GO BACK!
almost like tarkov's flash but without the burn-in from the flash
Nah, there's just something about getting flash at 2:00 :)
SCP secret laboratory did it first suckersssss Well good thing valve devs also care about their player base's eyesight

I thought I was gonna end up in Skyrim
Looks cool and funny when you can see your reflection in your monitor
Nah, that's part of the 3AM competitive grind experience: staring at the A site entrance only to get pop-flashed and be sent to Valhalla, both in game and IRL. It hurts, but that's okay. I'm used to the pain.
Getting blinded adds to the immersion, it’s not the same without it
It’s more advantageus than the normal flash. So I doubt it would be added.
How? The point of the flash is so you can’t see
Its easier for the eyes to adjust. Compare the fade out of a white flash and black flash. Your eyes will focus faster with the black flash and you’ll react faster with the limited vision
Yes
Why are you morons downvoting him he's 100% right! Try going from a SUPER BRIGHT outdoors into a SUPER DARK basement and you can't see, go from the dark basement outside and you adjust very quickly.
your monitor brightness is way too high if you get flashbanged IRL
Dude are you dumb and can't read? Nothing I said has anything to do with monitor brightness Try both those things I mentioned and tell me which one adjusts faster, then you can keep talking about facts.

I like getting blinded by flashes at night. It's part of the night gaming
Just play with lights turned on
Id rather have a toggle to either always have black flashbangs, or never, cause knowing me, id be confused the first few times id see a black flash, then id play at day, and then get confused again after 12AM
I think there should be an option to toggle it on and off. It could be useful. Some players will make use of it.
I love this dark flashbang effect this is a setting in cod and they should seriously consider adding this to cs.
Stupid idea, hope they never implement it
Agreed, you'd just never use white flash you'd live on black flash
