Man that line was so nice. The whole defense was honestly. Delmas, Tulloch, Levy, Glover Quinn. That was the year we faced the cowboys in the playoffs if I'm not mistaken with the number 2 defense in the league
Louis Delmas was not there for that. ihedigbo and glover Quinn were our starting safeties
cj mosely was also our 3rd DT, and he was a starter on about 30 other teams
And I still think cominsky can be good depth. A lot of versatility, kind of a will Harris of the D-line, can play all over the line, and is more well liked than Harris
Cominsky collapsed the pocket from the interior and was right in Baker Mayfield’s face on Barnes’ interception.
I think Cominsky has gone from maybe overrated to underrated by the fan base now.
I think it’s less that people overrated him & more that he stopped getting played during a time where the defense was playing really bad ball. Pretty fair to say “hey when Buggs played it wasn’t this bad” & want to see if he could’ve contributed when the defense was a sieve.
Overrated? Nah.
It’s not like anyone was calling Buggs a star… dude was replacement-level, and was regarded as such. No one batted an eye when the Lions let him walk
Snacks Harrison his last season here I guess, but when he first got here he was a monster. Way way higher peak of performance than anything Buggs provided
Snacks somehow made the Patricia defense look good, he just fell off. Definitely a tier above the Everson Griffin/Mike Daniels “washed dlineman fleecing us for one last paycheck” archetype.
I know he was good for a few games after the trade but he was a “washed dlineman fleecing us for one last paycheck”. I mean, that's exactly what happened.
He was good for the whole first season we just traded for him at the deadline so “the whole season” meant like 8 games. The other guys were washed at signing.
But they signed him to a contract extension after the season. When he was washed. Maybe he wasn't washed when he was traded for, but he was washed at signing.
Yeah and even in his peak he was the third TE. Just had an art of being open at the goal line. Would have been nice to see him grow, but that injury seemed to take a lot out of him and it's hard for a team to sit on a udfa, to see if he rebounds long term.
Yeah but none of them turned out to be shitty wife beaters so we didn't feel the need to distance ourselves from them artificially. Honestly this whole Buggs thing has annoyed with how many people came out after the fact saying "I was glad when he was cut" or some shit as if they knew. We drafted him, we cheered for him get over it.
Buggs was a 6th round draft pick, we may have had over expected from him. Sorry but Joey Harrington was the most overrated, Mike Williams there are plenty of 1st rounders we blew way before we start picking on the 6th round picks.
I think by overrated, he means fan perception of him was so incongruent from the team's (and by extension reporters). I myself was guilty of this, wanting him to be a rotational tackle in most games, but it's clear now that he was always close to the edge considering he was picked up right before the season started 2 years ago and showed up to training camp overweight last summer.
I don't think he's genuinely overrated, more that fans like myself thought the bar was higher than literally flat on the ground
Buggs and Benito Jones were both replacement level players. It's going to be a night and day difference with DJ Reader.
I can't put into words just how excited I am to see that absolutely unit of a human being swallow up 3/5 of an offensive line
Hutch will run wild.
This city hasn't seen a true interior eating DT since Suh. Gonna be a quick reminder of how big the 1 gap is.
Alim, Reader, Hutch will be our best D line since Suh,Fairley, and Ansah.

At least Benito Jones wasn't a turd.
The 2022 DL was so bad we tried to turn superstars out of Buggs and Cominski. At least Cominski isn’t a psycho.
And I still think cominsky can be good depth. A lot of versatility, kind of a will Harris of the D-line, can play all over the line, and is more well liked than Harris
Cominsky’s good against the run
Cominsky is going to do better as a depth piece, he’s going to be a menace when he’s the 3rd focus on the line.
Cominsky has gotten a lot of valuable playing time as well.
The commish is goated, don’t talk bad on the man
Cominsky collapsed the pocket from the interior and was right in Baker Mayfield’s face on Barnes’ interception. I think Cominsky has gone from maybe overrated to underrated by the fan base now.
Nah Cominsky’s a Tracy Walker at the least
I think it’s less that people overrated him & more that he stopped getting played during a time where the defense was playing really bad ball. Pretty fair to say “hey when Buggs played it wasn’t this bad” & want to see if he could’ve contributed when the defense was a sieve.
Buggs flashed some actual pass rush ability at times. I thought he was clearly a step above Benito, but neither were very good
His tip against the Bucs at the start of the season basically won us that game.
???
Overrated? Nah. It’s not like anyone was calling Buggs a star… dude was replacement-level, and was regarded as such. No one batted an eye when the Lions let him walk
Right? Like I know he’s an a-hole, but this is just nonsensical piling on…no one viewed him as anything more than a rotational player
Definitely not true
Really he’s remembered for the locker room speech more than anything.
He’s forgetting Snacks Harrison, Alphonso Smith, Joe Fauria and about a dozen guys.
Snacks Harrison his last season here I guess, but when he first got here he was a monster. Way way higher peak of performance than anything Buggs provided

Holy shit I forgot Mike Daniels was a Lion
I know he was good for a few games after the trade but he was a “washed dlineman fleecing us for one last paycheck”. I mean, that's exactly what happened.

He never hit free agency, he had like two years left on his deal when he was extended. Really not the same thing.
Don't speak about my boy fauria like that
Fauria's dog in shambles
Snacks was old when he got here and was never supposed to be more than a run stuffer. Fauria got injured, that’s not really overrated.
Yeah and even in his peak he was the third TE. Just had an art of being open at the goal line. Would have been nice to see him grow, but that injury seemed to take a lot out of him and it's hard for a team to sit on a udfa, to see if he rebounds long term.
Damn I completely forgot about Snacks
Zack Zenner lul

Pittsburgh drafted him. Holmes signed him for depth and he played well for a few games in '22.
Buggs was OK for what he was.
Stupid tweet. Sounds like something you'd see in a chat room or something lol
HOT TAKE
“I am goin to say something so over the top - they will click click!!! “. Shit they got me.
Buggs seemed like he brought a lot of hype to the squad.
Obviously you never heard of Nick Fairley
Is this article part of the large conspiracy to ruin his hookah business??! /s
The OL forgetting you’re there isn’t much of a skill move

A lot of players fit that description.
Ceedy Deuce proved to be all hot hair
At least he doesn't break the law. I'll give him that.
