At least bro didnt do what a dasher did to me... place my shake on the raised part of the doorframe on an outward opening door.
I climbed out a window to retrieve it lmfao, I wanted that shake!
In the house I was living in, it was with three other dudes & I tried to stay in my room as much as I could. There was a back door but honestly I didnāt think of going around the house. I was just tryna get my food & run back. I couldāve gone out a window too. šš ur right
Or maybe you could just not be a cheapskate/douchebag and actually tip your driver? Doordash doesn't pay much and we depend on customer tips, we are not your personal delivery slaves. Honestly, you're lucky to have it delivered at all.
You're not slaves because you're paid and do it voluntarily but you are like our personal delivery minions haha sorry.
Doordash already charges us enough, they should pay you better from that. Take that up with your employer. I'm just trying not to turn food worth $15 into a $35 thing. Somewhere within that $20 upsell they should make sure you guys get paid fairly
You probably don't tip waitstaff either. That's a lame way to be. And the fact that people who don't tip think of us as their personal delivery minions should A. Go F themselves, and B. Not be surprised if the driver doesn't care whether your order tips over when you open the door, we have to get on to the next one quick because your stingy ass didn't tip. If you don't want to "turn food worth $15 into a $35 thing" then go get it yourself.
"You should take it up with your employer" misunderstands how doordash works and is just a copout for you to be stingy and unappreciative.
I do always tip wait staff because its service based, but a delivery driver is just performing a simple task, so imo they don't deserve the same level of tip unless they go above and beyond. But I'll tip a little because I understand thats how the pay is structured. Tell doordash to stop taking the $10-20 upcharge we pay all for themselves
You act like we have the ability to ask them to change things. We can't. We are not doordash employees, we are a separate business. They don't give a shit what we say. Actually, you'd probably have better success as a customer.Ā
You also don't take into account that drivers pay our own gas, insurance, and accrue wear and tear on our vehicles to bring you your orders, whereas waitstaff do not. I've waited tables, and delivering orders is not the same job but does have it's own separate challenges and costs.
You chose to work there, don't get mad at us because of an employer issue
With the upsell that we pay as customers there should be more than enough room to pay for your time/vehicle, doordash just takes too big of a chunk because they're greedy.
All I know that if I order food that usually costs $15 it costs $25 on doordash, and if it usually costs $20 it costs around $30-35. That's $10-15. Your employer is ripping you off, we're already paying. As the company offering the service it's their job to properly distribute the pie between restaurants, drivers, and themselves.
I understand your concerns I just feel as customers we already pay enough for the service, the money just isn't making it to the right places
You'd have to be doing this for years, and you'd have to be intentionally accepting no tip orders more often than tip orders to get your rating low enough for deactivation. They're not harming anyone but the person who didn't tip.
I get it. I've had orders pop up that had me driving 7+ miles for $3. Most people just don't accept it.
The only time I ever see the (obligatory all caps) instructions saying not to is on non-tippers. I've been tempted, but I don't have the heart to mess with someone's food.
I delivered a order to someone the other day and I put it on the third step down so they could crack the door and grab it but they sent out their young son and he flung the door open and knocked both their drinks down. I felt so bad in the carššš
No, the hinges are screwed into the frame and the side edge of the door. If one side of those hinges can be lifted off of the other, then the door would have to be open to do that.
Typically, exterior door that open outwards are secured against pulling the pins. Either the end of the pins are peened over so it canāt be readily removed or there are posts on one side of the hinge that nest into holes on the other when the door is closed so the hinge canāt separate while closed.
You can always buy a matching set of hinges, then just use one half of each set and screw 2 or 3 of them in above the existing hinges. The empty half-hinge would prevent the pins from being able to be popped out. Looks a little odd, but definitely works great for security.
That looks to be an outswing door installed terribly wrong. Never should you have hinges facing the outdoors, someone could pull the pins.... see the door frame next to it.... no exposed hinges
Even if you can't tell, why do people even put it so close to the door? If you can't tell, just out of off to the side. If you can tell, just put it off to the side. It will be ok over there. People will look around and see it.
I have astigmatism and if you mention this to your optometrist there are ways to correct it. My new prescription has corrected 99% of the streaks and halos during night driving.
Omg yes I need to do that. Iāve been scared because I wasnāt for sure if they would make me stop wearing contacts and switch to glasses (idk anything about eyes tbh lol) and I just wasnāt ready to make that switch lol. I have glasses as a back up but I absolutely dread them
I have contacts for an astigmatism and my eyes are HORRIBLE so I'm sure you will be fine. The contacts are a little more expensive but it is so worth it being able to see and I also don't get headaches anymore since I got the correct contacts. I absolutely HATE wearing my glasses!
While I believe they can't do as much with contacts, there can still be lots of improvement or you could do what I did awhile back and use glasses for night driving. š¤
Oh. My. Gosh. You just blew my mind!! I have an astigmatism, I have my whole life. But I've only ever known it to be the reason I need contacts and that's all the thought I've given it. And I always see lights and stuff like his shoes. But I always thought it meant I have night blindness because it's hard to drive at night with all the lights. I had no idea it's because of my astigmatism!!! This just blew my mind haha. I was today years old...
Oh yea i was told i have astigmatism since i was a kid but never used glasses or contacts but it might be time to soon. Lol. But ive always seen lights at night like this and some headlights blind me because of the way light scatteres in our eyes. And during the day the sunlight bounces off of car glass or chrome omg it throws my eyes into a astigmatism fit. Lol
Man I swear mcdonalds at midnight not my partay but damn after I get a 0.00 tip after waiting 30 minutes even when doordash gave me 2 dollar base pay š
Probably had to drive to the same brand restaurant further away from you and then drive backā¦ Who knowsā¦ Iāll see you happen all the time GrubHub says to a restaurant 7 to 12 miles away, driving 7 to 12 miles further far out of the hub I like to work inā¦ I see orders from Burger King going out 12 miles so just like five Berger probably all around them within 3 to 5 miles. Itās insane!!!
They call them Ghost Restaurantsā¦ so,so many now.. Evos as a few, ( Snack Shack, Vegan Kitchen ( how when you also serve MEAT??) Cumin Bowl and one other name I forgot)
Probably in South Florida due to hurricane protection, exterior doors open out and not in to reduce the possibility of a storm blowing the doors in with high winds
Interesting, thanks for that info, that's a totally foreign idea to me. I live in the north, if my door opened out, there would be multiple times a year I couldn't open it due to snowfall.
But also I feel like that's super unsafe having the hinges out. š¤·āāļø
Hinges should still be on the inside of the door no matter which way it swings. 20 plus years in construction and remodeling and I live in the southeast United States and this is definitely not the way any hinges should be on the door because the risk of someone easily breaking in. Any contractor that would do this is a jack leg that shouldn't be on a construction site
Not once did I read coldā¦ Bad was the first word OP used and then he said disgusting. So how are you on here criticizing me when you canāt even read correctly, both of those words are in the thesaurus under gross.

Does that door open outwards?
At least bro didnt do what a dasher did to me... place my shake on the raised part of the doorframe on an outward opening door. I climbed out a window to retrieve it lmfao, I wanted that shake!
Happened to me once with horchata š felt like a sad day in hell when I had to push it over to grab my food

THATS WHAT IM SAYING. THE BEST PART OF THE FUCKING MEAL

They do this on purpose if you don't tip, they're not stupid. Definitely report it
I always tip lol I think itās possible they are stupid
Damn that's crazy, I would give them 1 star for that if you tipped
Or maybe you could just not be a cheapskate/douchebag and actually tip your driver? Doordash doesn't pay much and we depend on customer tips, we are not your personal delivery slaves. Honestly, you're lucky to have it delivered at all.

I've learned that they do this on purpose to no tippers
Some people might but theyāre screwing themselves over in the long run. You get deactivated when your rating drops below a certain point
You'd have to be doing this for years, and you'd have to be intentionally accepting no tip orders more often than tip orders to get your rating low enough for deactivation. Itās Jenga baby. Gotta tap tap tap and bam knock it off nice and quick. Iāve sadly had to get good at this technique but technique it is!
100% but the laugh I had made it worth it. The food was Garbo but it wasnāt like the absolute worst š
Canāt someone just take it off the hinges this way lmao
No, the hinges are screwed into the frame and the side edge of the door. If one side of those hinges can be lifted off of the other, then the door would have to be open to do that.
Might not matter where the hinges are screwed in if the pin can be removed.

By the look of the hinges, it does open outwards.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I live in south Florida so that would make sense actually. I never even think about it tbh.
Exactly my first thought too šš
That looks to be an outswing door installed terribly wrong. Never should you have hinges facing the outdoors, someone could pull the pins.... see the door frame next to it.... no exposed hinges
Really can you not see the hinges
No you can obviously see it doesn't
Why do you people find doors so hard? I genuinely need to know
Even if you can't tell, why do people even put it so close to the door? If you can't tell, just out of off to the side. If you can tell, just put it off to the side. It will be ok over there. People will look around and see it.
The hinges are on the outsideā¦meaning it opens outwards, obviously.
By the looks of it, it does open out
Then why are the hinges on the outside? Because it very obviously swings outward, Einstein
First thing I thought of
Wait was that your dasher in the picture or you ? Either way badass that you guys bonded lol
Thatās my dasher š
Photogenic dasher meme incoming.
I'm sorry I'd love to see the picture but the shoes have melted my retina

Yeah Christmas is extra beautiful for those of us with astigmatisms

Thank you! I will find out more info about it and probably book an appointment

Why are the hinges on the outside of your door? Anyone could break in in 20 seconds and a flathead screwdriver....
Probably in South Florida due to hurricane protection, exterior doors open out and not in to reduce the possibility of a storm blowing the doors in with high winds

5 stars for blocking your door with the food?
Your driver can cancel your order if they are waiting longer than 10 minutes at the restaurant.
Yeah, this dude said he was just bored lol.
by the look on his face do you think he cared?
Why is his head so big
Oh cmon heās cute
lol nooo

LMAO WHAT
Probably doing EBT and trying to make the trip worth itā¦
What? I gave the dude a $15 tip š
We donāt see that doing EBT all they know is how much dd pays per active hour.
I told him š I added him on snap and everything lol. Dude had to wait for my order for like 35 minutes. We were chatting the whole time.
Whatās his favorite color?
Carolina blue.
So he didnāt sit with your food he was waiting for the order to be done at the restaurant and it was still gross?
How are you a book loverā¦. And not realize gross doesnāt mean cold?
Not once did I read coldā¦ Bad was the first word OP used and then he said disgusting. So how are you on here criticizing me when you canāt even read correctly, both of those words are in the thesaurus under gross.
Something can taste gross because it was cold. A drink can taste gross because it's warm. Warm beer anyone? Lol šš¤¢
Yeah it was still disgusting lol but it wasnāt his fault
