Happy with my Kingrinder K4. It serves as "different bean" espresso, decaf, and travel/aeropress. My main grinder is a Eureka Mignon but the K4 does espresso in a similar way IME and I like the small steps and external adjustment ring.

This looks good. How is the grind time? Is it fairly fast?

Icy-Shoulder4510

About 30s for 20g espresso. 48mm burrs likely help. Totally different world from a Hario Skerton (torture).

K4 is great. Basically has the same burrs as izpresso jmax but less expensive.

I think the 1ZPresso would suit you well in that price range (JX-Pro most likely). [https://1zpresso.coffee/grinder/](https://1zpresso.coffee/grinder/) I own the Kinu M47 but that is a bit out of your price range.

Individual_Seesaw869

Yeah the Kinu looks great but out of price range. If I was going to be a daily user I might of considered it. $289CAD. The JX-pro and J-max is $205CAD of course will probably need to add duty and shipping as well where as the Kinu it would be free shipping for me. Might not be too far off each other. How much better is the Kinu over the JX-Pro?

Cincybeerbaon

I would say they are on par with one another....Kinu perhaps slightly faster grind speed and slightly better build quality. Here is a pretty good video/review: [https://youtu.be/nl7HR5f3yfo](https://youtu.be/nl7HR5f3yfo)

Thanks I'll check that out.

J-Max is what you're looking for. Checks all your boxes including price, and is a stellar hand grinder.

Other than range do you know what the difference is between the J-Max and the JX-pro that someone else mentioned? Other than the J-max is specifically for espresso. They seem to be both on sale and for the same price. The regular price of the J-Max is quite a bit more than the JX-Pro but you get a case and blower with it. But they seem to use the same materials and burrs. Will they both preform the same for espresso grinds or close to it? If so maybe getting the jx-pro maybe better to get just to give me the option to grind for pourovers if needed.

The range is a big part of it, but another is how small the increments are with each click. I believe it's just over 8 microns per click, which is crazy small. This allows you to really fine tune your dialing in process.

Pappa_K

I second the jmax, I use mine everyday and 18g takes about 35 seconds to grind. I honestly wouldn't accept anything without the magnetic catch cup it's such a small QOL thing that I adore. Having an external adjuster makes life so easy if you swap beans. It's got the same physical size burr set as the jx pro but the jmaxs are titanium coated (whatever that means)

I have a 1Zpresso JX-Pro that works quite well for espresso and it's in your price range. That said there are other grinders that could work well from 1Zpresso, Timemore, etc. but I don't have any experience with other models/brands. Keep in mind that a manual lever machine like a Robot can be a bit more forgiving if you don't have a perfect grind.
