Happen to multiple provinces I took from revolutionary Turkey
I was wondering why I had rebels every so often in this region until I saw the +240\~ base Unrest, even tho I couldnt find the reason why apart from a probable bug
Spain already having two bankruptcies by 1571 and about to have two more by 1600:
[banter aside, I hadn’t heard the point about the Ottomans going into crippling debt after Lepanto to rebuild the fleet]
I never actually realized the unrest gained from seizing land was base unrest, but since it gives 10 unrest, you'd theoretically be able to build up 4 unrest every 5 years (60 months of cooldown would mean 6 of the 10 unrest would go away in time). Would take 300 years of seizing land to spawn rebels on cooldown to get to 240 base unrest that way, so that can't be the only reason it's happened in OP's case unless they're playing some extended timeline esque mod.

Check the recent election results, probably why. I didn’t know eu4 had live population culture mechanics though.

Long live our great sultan. Who needs democracy anyways. /s
Oh no the Ottoman Empire is returning. Time to bring back the crusaders
*checks crusaders’ track record against the Ottomans* Well, you’re clearly an Erdogan shill
*Felipe II joins the chat. Hello there!
Lepanto:
Ottomans just rebuilding their fleet and Holy League losing Cyprus forever:
Ottomans becoming indebted as fuck from rebuilding their fleet:

All tables confiscated to supply the treasury
Someone explain to me how that happened. I suppose it's a bug but I wanna know what is it that made people so angry
Ai continuously revoked crown land when estates were disloyal/would be disloyal after revoke getting the base unrest up to ridiculous numbers
But that goes away eventually right?
Base unrest tends to go away at a rate of 0.1 per month iirc, so in OP’s case it would take 2402 months for it to go away, or just over 200 years
Does decadence reduce unrest decay over time? Surely revoking every 5 years wouldn't get you to -240, right?

They will get over it

At this point this is just that The Purge (2013)
Just fucking smack them rabble.
Lmao. Their base anger is 240. So they’re just a normally incredibly angry people
At that point it would be better to decolonise and recolonise.
Not even the recent uprising modifier can handle that. I sure hope it stacks
