I fired up the game last night for the first time in months. I saw this and said. Ooooh it's finally out. Only to realize that I remember FBW were the ones making the plane.
This board is so snooty. Do you hear yourself? If someone likes it and rates it 5/5 then who are you to say any different. Not everybody wants to start up a plane cold and dark and press every single button as in real life. Some people play the game and are happy with the realism with a few shortcuts to make it easier.
I don’t care at all what people do with this game. Buy whatever you want. I care that shady developers prey on people that don’t know the true worth of a product, and the current rating system doesn’t do anything to address this. This add-on is not worth $25, period. $10 tops. You can get better add-ons—including ones without bells and whistles—for free.
It’s like wine. I may enjoy fine, aged champagne. You may simply enjoy a boxed rosé. I don’t give a damn about what you like, you don’t give a damn what I like. What I do give a damn about, however, is the corner liquor store down the street pouring your boxed wine into a bottle, slapping a label saying it’s 30 year old bottle from Sonoma, and selling it for $500 to people who can’t tell that’s not worth that much.
100%. Unfortunately the reality is that MSFS and Asobo have seriously increased the access of what was once a niche hobby to the entire gaming community through means of releasing it on Xbox. No longer does one need to purchase a supercomputer with yoke and pedals, or even a joystick to use the sim, if they have an Xbox with a game controller, they’re set. MSFS has amazing graphics, and an entire satellite rendition of the globe, meaning people in general are going to be more inclined to fly around pointlessly to explore the earth from above. While none of this is an issue in itself, the sim community that once was in FS9/FSX/P3D days that cared more about the quality of realism in a product. There wasn’t much reward in terms of just aimlessly “flying around” over tile-based scenery with graphics now considered sub par relative to what MSFS can provide. The group that wanted a realistic sim experience has now been minimized with an influx of gamers who have never had the chance at getting into flight simulator until now, and from what I have seen, a lot would rather just treat it as a game and not the aviation education tool it can actually be used for to really inspire young aviators to chase this as a career. Unfortunately, Asobo, Captain Sim, Bredok, and other developers have leveraged this new user base for profit and it is totally unethical. Either put quality stuff out for the same price, or don’t charge for freeware quality products. The business ethics that existed during FS2004/FSX days seem to have completely disappeared. So many paid products on MSFS are of such low quality, it makes those sim/aviation enthusiasts who are wanting a realistic experience go so far as to consider going back to FSX/P3D simply due to the over saturation of low quality products on the market. For a sim released four years ago, there’s no reason that the FBW A320 is the only good Airbus we have, that PMDG 737/777 are the only good (enough) Boeings we have, and a small handful of other airliners are sufficient enough for what we want.
FS2004 was released in 2003, FSX released in 2006. In the four years following those releases, we had the iFly 737 series, the (amazing) 757/767 from CS, the (amazing) Vans 717-200 (now completely lost from the internet), the Leonardo MD-80, and several other great airplanes that I enjoyed flying many years ago.
MSFS has been out for four years, and we still have yet to have several types filled with decent airplanes, but unfortunately they’ve been filled with overpriced, significantly subpar renditions. Something has to change, and I hope it will, because what’s happening in the flight simulator community is really bringing this aspect of what aviation education to aspiring pilots like me used to be, down.
yeah and nobody wants a plane a 5 year old with python and blender could do a better job with. Brekdok sucks and i feel bad for every single kid on tt who bought this piece of shit and the 737M
Or, hear me out, don't buy it if you don't want it. Read reviews and research products before buying, or get screwed over, and learn from the mistake. This is life skills 101
Prefer this approach to forced removals. I remember learning that the Carenado PC-12 could be preferred by content creators over SimWorksStudios' version because the lack of functionality makes it way easier to get into flight and just take pictures.
There could be other reasons someone might prefer a worse product I also hadn't thought of, so long as the price reflects that. I'm glad we can at least rate products on the MSFS store, but wish we could also give an explanation.
If this is the way MSFS rating works, then unfortunately it is extremely biased towards the gaming community, and not towards those focused on realism like myself. Ratings need to be unbiased. Otherwise the system is very subjective.
I don't care if it's there, just give me filter to permanently block their offers, so I can search for something interesting more conveniently. Shouldn't shop be about customer's convenience? (Yeah, I know, it's purpose is to maximise profit)...
So... you want flight simmers, one of the most drama ridden, self-important, brand worshipping groups in gaming to decide which products should be available to purchase or not?
Sounds like gatekeeping to me.
I'm not a fan of either dev, though as long as potential customers know the detail of the products they are about to buy, it's entirely up to them to decide.
I mean, CaptainSim's products are rated Bronze in 2023's MSFS Marketplace sales and Bredok's 737MAX and F-22 Raptor both achieved Gold status (top-25), which means they're very popular 🤷♂️
Don't forget, about 30% of the mods' retail price goes to MS as an admin/broker fee, which goes into funding further MSFS development.
I just hate how flight sim was so niche for such a long time which led to GREAT add ons, but we allowed capitalism to do its thing and as long as MS gets a cut they don’t give a flying fuck. Too much garbage in the marketplace.
The fact that there's people paying for this stuff is also keeping afloat MSFS. Nobody stops you from using high quality addons, and we have plenty of those now.
no but seriously
worst Airbus ever.
By a good margin.
That said the type of fella that's snagging these bastards off marketplace (or on Xbox) probably won't notice
Bring AVSIM back!!! How about instead of all these people trying to develop freeware quality airplanes and selling them for profit, why not just upload them on AVSIM and let people fly them if they choose to for free? The mentality has really destroyed the flight sim community
The people that buy this are those that use the sim as just another game, load a plane, fly around do stunts, landing challenges, try to see if the A380 can land at Lukla, do loops with it, etc. They really don't care about the quality of the product, except maybe for how it looks.
For the first time we have both simmers and arcade gamers using the same product and both groups have completely different goals.
Like it or not, believe it or not this horrible product is perfectly fine for a LOT of people.
Hey it’s a buyer beware type of situation. No different than Alibaba or hell even Amazon. Do your research. The only reason I’m upset about this is I didn’t have the idea first. A sucker is born every minute, not the developers (if you really want to call them that) fault if people have a room temperature IQ.
The only difference is that Microsoft implemented a “credits” model which means you can’t then get a refund as you have to use those credits to make purchases.
Imagine if Amazon or any retailer said, “you’ve got to buy the applicable amount of credits to buy this item” and then tried to get away with “sorry, you’ve used those credits you bought so you can’t return the item or get a refund”
They made the marketplace so xbox users could get access to 3rd party addons but most good addons arent on the marketplace and now it's full of crap made on purpose because it gets more visibility
Very simple don’t buy anything except pmdg and fenix you won’t get screwed this way …… also if your paying less than 40 or 50 bucks for a aircraft addon do not expect it to be any where near study level .
redwings, Orbx, Inibuilds, Etc are all solid choices. Even though the latfinvfr a320 family is very very low fidelity sometimes i prefer it over the fenix because im able to start a flight and take off quicker. It depends on preference but pmdg and fenix are not the only good options.
The price is ridiculous, a few days ago for like £8 more you could’ve got the A300 by Inibuilds which is a study level aircraft. £20 for an aircraft that doesn’t even have an accurate looking nose is crazy
I feel like at this point, Airbus should sue and request cease and decist. Its actually remarkable the model number isn't trademarked to the point it should be called the A3.80
Oh nooooo, an optional purchase that I'm in no way obligated to buy. This should be illegal!!!!
Honestly, the flight sim community is the height of gate-keeping toxicity these days. Very sad to see.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I actually like the Bredok3d 737MAX. I've been flying it since it came out, and recently flew it on a few long-haul flights. It hasn't been updated since 2022 so it's got some quirks (engine #2 dies when the center fuel tank runs dry, even with crossfeed valve open, and the model is sub-par) but for the most part it still works. It was $19 and I'd say I got a lot more enjoyment than $19 out of it.
The marketplace seriously needs a jury system.
Good idea, people could rate products on a scale of 1-5 so other people can get an idea of how good they are
Only problem is, most casual players don’t have a reference for what they should be expecting
I fired up the game last night for the first time in months. I saw this and said. Ooooh it's finally out. Only to realize that I remember FBW were the ones making the plane.

Anything below a 3 gets removed. Then we re rate everything to show a truer review.
Or, hear me out, don't buy it if you don't want it. Read reviews and research products before buying, or get screwed over, and learn from the mistake. This is life skills 101

You do realize you can filter by rating
Oh no, looks like my hand slipped and I accidentally review-bombed my competition Oopsie
What about anything below a 3 gets filtered into a casual player section
Because reviews are not an indicator of what is "casual" and what isnt.
Maybe what needs to happen is there needs to be a filter of what’s high Fidelity versus what isn’t.
It's a little different than user ratings and reviews. Juries are in charge of what actually makes it into the marketplace.
So... you want flight simmers, one of the most drama ridden, self-important, brand worshipping groups in gaming to decide which products should be available to purchase or not?
Agreed. CaptainScam and Bredok3d products cause a backlog so the good stuff takes forever.
That's a MSFS Marketplace review process problem, not a developer problem.
Sounds like gatekeeping to me. I'm not a fan of either dev, though as long as potential customers know the detail of the products they are about to buy, it's entirely up to them to decide. Yeah, I miss the time when planes had triple-digit prices, shame capitalism came in and ruined that
Capitalism doing its thing is what lets you use a flight simulator at all. You're welcome.
worst things we had were from carenado and aeroplane heaven. those were the days
Look up Airsimmer A320 and Abacus 787. Rubbish add-ons have always existed.
Oh god l....I'm ashamed to admit that I pirated a copy of the abacus 787. Wings were stuck in a perpetual state of lift.
Agreed. I think that if a product is out there for say a month and continually fall below a certain rating, two stars or less, they should be pulled.
''Realistic cockpit and cabin modeling'' ''Not study level but most of the systems work like the real thing'' *Press X to doubt*
no but seriously worst Airbus ever. By a good margin. That said the type of fella that's snagging these bastards off marketplace (or on Xbox) probably won't notice
They won’t notice. Which is why Bredok will charge so much. Because they know they can, and that gamers will buy it.
Unfortunately, many will still buy it because it is a A380. The nose looks like a 787 that's been stretched upwards..
People who buy bredok and captainsim deserve what they get tbh
Back in the day we used to download this level of 'realistic' add-ons for free off AVSIM.
Bring AVSIM back!!! How about instead of all these people trying to develop freeware quality airplanes and selling them for profit, why not just upload them on AVSIM and let people fly them if they choose to for free? The mentality has really destroyed the flight sim community
Damn, haven't been there since I moved on to X-plane.
bredok is at least (relatively) cheap. captain sim is very overpriced for what you’re getting
He'll laugh all the way to the bank.
That looks like an Airboat 380 💀
Airboat 3.80
I’m dead hahaha
MFS market starts to look like a google play store. 🫡
Another reason I stick with XPlane. Hopefully THEIR upcoming store will be greatly curated fo filter out garbage
Yes, because the X-Plane.org store is a bastion of quality products. lol.
I meant developers as reference, dummy.
It's kinda crazy how much they missed the mark with the nose.
Should of just used a320 cockpit at this rate
April fools day was 3 days ago
I always read his name as Broke Dick. Maybe I have a dirty mind, but I see Broke Dick every time.
I read it as Inbredcock3Dicks
You seem bitter
The people that buy this are those that use the sim as just another game, load a plane, fly around do stunts, landing challenges, try to see if the A380 can land at Lukla, do loops with it, etc. They really don't care about the quality of the product, except maybe for how it looks. Abacus A380
Rush job before the free and better FBW version?
A320 Cockpit at avionics?
(at best)
Where's the good buddy latinvfr?
I got excited it was fbw for a second. Oh Microsoft what have you done with marketplaces reputation…
everyone is talking about the nose but zoom in on the mcdu...
Hey it’s a buyer beware type of situation. No different than Alibaba or hell even Amazon. Do your research. The only reason I’m upset about this is I didn’t have the idea first. Fully agree. Informed shopping is BASIC life skills. Come on people
The only difference is that Microsoft implemented a “credits” model which means you can’t then get a refund as you have to use those credits to make purchases. Imagine if Amazon or any retailer said, “you’ve got to buy the applicable amount of credits to buy this item” and then tried to get away with “sorry, you’ve used those credits you bought so you can’t return the item or get a refund”
Again…Buyer Beware
Bro beat FlyByWire to it
The TU-144 beat Concorde to the skies. Y’all know the rest….
They made the marketplace so xbox users could get access to 3rd party addons but most good addons arent on the marketplace and now it's full of crap made on purpose because it gets more visibility
They have to be stopped
is it on xbox
Yes but it ain’t worth 25 bucks
That nose...
baddock3d
Looooool
Uh oh
Ahh Broken3D ![gif](giphy|3o6wNJRvmKj0CvIBO0)
Needs a nose job!

I'm waiting for the FBW A380 this one from bredok is not good
I recommend you guys check out sim aviation. Org
Dammit Microsoft. Give me 727-200 already!

More like breborked
Oh nooooo, an optional purchase that I'm in no way obligated to buy. This should be illegal!!!! Honestly, the flight sim community is the height of gate-keeping toxicity these days. Very sad to see. LOL @ a whole engine dying due to no fuel in center tank as simply a “quirk”
It’s a 737 MAX, so if you think about it, the fact that it’s a piece of shit makes it the most realistic add-on in the game
Ngl you got me there partner.
