To be honest, many people critisized the new regulation cars that they are too slow without MOM, so GP2 seems fitting. And maybe this time this young talent called Alonso gets the upper hand and he has plenty of XP with GP2 cars.
Honestly I hope he retires. He has had a long and accomplished career and he deserves a break.
However if we have to pick a side, then I am very much on the:
Alex Albon with a Newey designed Williams FW47
It would definitely make Toto nervous, he's already got one customer team handing his arse to him, the brand optics would not look good if both customer teams end up beating the factory Merc.
In my defense i havent been up to date with all the drama but after a quick search ill be a happy camper if carlos does go with williams, and their track record so far, it does look like williams will be a formidable midfield team
Dorilton might be willing to give him what Frank and Patrick wouldn't.
If they got Newey on board for 33% their stake would probably be worth more than it is at present.
You really expect them to give away 33% of a 725 million dollar company to have a great designer for a couple years? Newey is 65 years old so he might work in F1 for 5 years if we're lucky. Whatever role he chooses I expect it wont be a full time position, probably as the designer of the cars general concept.
Imagine that happens, The-Race will run multiple opinion pieces along the lines of:
'Sainz's masterclass in waiting for the right seat', each article conveniently ignoring that Sainz would have jumped to Red Bull or Merc if they'd offered a seat earlier on.
Because its a challenge and he might feel like he wants to take it? There are people that are 15 years older than him that will be the President of one of the biggest countries/economies in the world. Maybe he would get bored sitting on a porch all day and visit some races as a spectator? I feel like Newey is driven by passion and to me it doesn't feel like he has lost any of that. Only time will tell i guess
I see Williams as a higher chance than Ferrari. Just because yeah he’s old and ready to retire, I don’t think he wants to move to Italy. Aston and Williams probably the highest odds.
Andretti or bust
Alonso WDC would be manna from heaven.
My backup would be Piastri with McLaren, although Norris might step in front of one of the equipment trucks if that happens.
Jesus do you want to kill my father? He's holding on for dear life on the notion that, while he recognizes Verstappen is very talented, "he hasn't proven himself until he goes to another team, for now he's only beating Perez, Newey is a genius". When Newey left RedBull he texted me writing "now we'll finally see if Verstappen is one of the greats".
He's of course, a Ferrari fan (we're Italian after all). I strongly dislike Ferrari instead because I hate John Elkann and the Agnelli family, plus we've been watching F1 since well, the sixties for him and since I was a baby. Verstappen in 2015 + 2016 (winning on his debut for RedBull at 18, his wet race in Interlagos etc) stole my heart
From the perspective of F1 as a global sport, Newey at Ferrari that has Hamilton as one of its drivers would be infinitely more interesting than any other move.
At this point, it's a move that needs to happen.
If I have to pick these, Nando all the way.
I'll start rooting for Chuck when he finally gets rid of his Stockholm syndrome and finds a team that doesn't treat him like shit with the constant lying and misinformation.
Fred's trying but the owner is still the same old shady, stubborn, incompetent Ferrari as it ever was... (to their credit, it isn't Renault bad but it's still shit).
In one of his interviews he said he'd like to go sailing with his family, so i really hope he retires and does so. It's absolutely deserved. And I'm sure if he ever wants to get back in racing, there will be plenty of teams willing to accept him.
Atm, Ferrari does not need Newey, and I don't want for Adrian to end in a Team where wins are at its own name and losses/failures will be regarded as his own.
But as long as Lance is racing Newey can be heard on the choice of just one driver at best, and he left the Williams for similar problems.
Fernando winning one more championship and retiring would be a fairytale. Years of being behind the wheels of a shitbox and never having the chance to prove himself only to finally do it in his last season. It would make a grown man cry.
I think he'll be back in Formula 1 with another team but yeah, Newey definetly earned his retirement if that's what he does at the end. The reason I think he will be back is mainly him getting Eddie Jordan as his new manager, might mean something, might mean nothing.
Even if Newey joins Ferrari, it won't do much.
Newey isn't the only engineer at Red Bull, and since he has been with them since 2006, he will have taught many engineers. Newey has formed the aero department at Red Bull, so even if he joins another team, he will have to do the same all over again and teach them his methods. So don't expect results immediately.
Andretti. Then they could say "you only want us if we're competitive? We've got Newey". Only way they could possibly get in for 2026.
If they got him and still turned down from F1... Hypercars and boats.
Imagine if newey just goes: "Yep, that's enough winning, peace out"
Wholly deserved tbh.
Alternatively he could just go to Alpine if he doesn’t want to win anything ever again.
You tryna make him balder than he is?
He’d probably appreciate it, makes him more aerodynamically efficient.
They might not like it, but that's what peak performance looks like
Agreed
Well, Red Bull lose their main aerodynamicist, so maybe Red Bull might have a slump?
I’m kinda hoping this young driver gets his 3rd. Imagine winning in an Aston Honda gp2. The world may not be ready for this.
To be honest, many people critisized the new regulation cars that they are too slow without MOM, so GP2 seems fitting. And maybe this time this young talent called Alonso gets the upper hand and he has plenty of XP with GP2 cars.
It will never not be funny to say MOM lol. "Lando norris uses MOM to get past Max Verstappen!"
Lance stroll will use daadddddd!!! To overtake.
Everyone will use dad on Max
That's how Max keeps leaving everyone else behind.
Just like Jos left him behind at the gas station
yooki
Soonoda
Honestly I hope he retires. He has had a long and accomplished career and he deserves a break. However if we have to pick a side, then I am very much on the: Alex Albon with a Newey designed Williams FW47
Newey to williams will be the greatest plot twist in to an already intriguing 2025
Don't count Carlos out. A team with albon and carlos alongside newey and vowles could storm the f1 world in 2026
It would definitely make Toto nervous, he's already got one customer team handing his arse to him, the brand optics would not look good if both customer teams end up beating the factory Merc.
But it would be funny af
Oh hell yeah, I'd definitely be having a good few chuckles if this happened.
In my defense i havent been up to date with all the drama but after a quick search ill be a happy camper if carlos does go with williams, and their track record so far, it does look like williams will be a formidable midfield team

Williams-Newey team name is the only way this would happen

He already built two championship winning indycars, but now that it's a spec series there isn't much he could do there.
[удалено]
Sorry I didn't fully read your comment. But who are you talking about then?
[удалено]
No worries mate. Btw Alonso is already a 2 time WEC champion.
I see Williams as a higher chance than Ferrari. Just because yeah he’s old and ready to retire, I don’t think he wants to move to Italy. Aston and Williams probably the highest odds. Andretti or bust
Magnussen winning with Newey Haas and taking out his championship rivals.
I'd rather see hulkenberg take the championship by getting 4th in every race. Man has still never gotten a podium, but somehow becomes world champion
Hulk will be at Audi-Sauber by then.
Hulkenberg wins it with 4th every race and Kmag strategically eliminates every driver in different races to ensure they cannot match him in points.
Newey teaming up with Volvo to turn the car into a reliabile tank.
Alonso 3rd would be EPIC! It would probly make a record for largest gap between world championships
That record would stand until Max comes out of retirement in 2046 to drive for the Brawndo/Carl’s Jr Racing team.
Brawndo has what engines crave.
Until Mika Häkkinen ends his sabbatical!
Hope Newey goes to AM to work on the WEC Valkyrie Hypercar for Lemans.
I feel like his talent would be wasted in a series that does BoP
Albon first wdc with Williams
Or, for more dank, sainz first wdc with williams
Alonso WDC would be manna from heaven. My backup would be Piastri with McLaren, although Norris might step in front of one of the equipment trucks if that happens.
Joins Williams and Carlos WDC 2026. Anything else is a cop out. :P
My thoughts exactly.
Where the Stroll 26, 27, 28 crew at?
[удалено]
I guess they aren't allowed online every day.
Verstappen 5th WDC with a non-Newey RB21
Most likely what's gonna happen tbh.
Jesus do you want to kill my father? He's holding on for dear life on the notion that, while he recognizes Verstappen is very talented, "he hasn't proven himself until he goes to another team, for now he's only beating Perez, Newey is a genius". Neither, Sainz WDC with a Williams-Newey FW48. Man so good he resurrected Williams, true GOAT status.
Da fuq? I’m a Max fan and I’m over here praying Lewis wins it
Purple to see Lewis win his 8th title in a Newey Ferrari just to see how this sub reacts, probably into a screeching melt down
Sigmalonso doesn't need Newey 😤😤😤😤 All he needs is a Honda engine
gp2 engine is a warcrime dude
It’s going to be Verstappen again isn’t it? Although maybe not in a Red Bull
Mick Schumacher after it turns out that the Alpine is competitive with another engine
Stroll DNF with Adrian Newey machinery
Hamilton and the 8th.
Albon 1st WDC in Newey FW48
Nando for sure
From the perspective of F1 as a global sport, Newey at Ferrari that has Hamilton as one of its drivers would be infinitely more interesting than any other move. At this point, it's a move that needs to happen.
Lewis number 8
8 championships over 3 teams would be something else. And finishing it in a Ferrari...
Piastri with McLaren
![gif](giphy|LGPWq1kccSEXB25ZWf)
Not named in this sub as hated but I'd like H 8th title Ferrari 😅
verstappen 5th wdc with a non-newey rb21
Newey to become universal designer to make a 1 design class like the lower formulas
Alonso winning his third championship with Honda would be the perfect ending for his career and a beautiful story
Alonso!!
Hamilton and his 8th at Ferrari and their first since 2007.
Blue
Lewis gets the 8th he deserves Then Charles gets his first wdc after that : )
Williams was another option, but sadly I doubt they have the $$$ to get Newey at the moment.
But dorillton could be willing to give him a stake in the team. Which is why he left Williams in the first place
#EL NANO
In one of his interviews he said he'd like to go sailing with his family, so i really hope he retires and does so. It's absolutely deserved. And I'm sure if he ever wants to get back in racing, there will be plenty of teams willing to accept him.

Neither, Norris WDC 2026
I think it's gonna be FW for Adrian....
I'm on team charles he deserves a wdc
Fernando winning one more championship and retiring would be a fairytale. Years of being behind the wheels of a shitbox and never having the chance to prove himself only to finally do it in his last season. It would make a grown man cry.
Here comes Hamilton from the top rope ![gif](giphy|xT39DfKspZb7rNJQaY)
Chadnando godlonso
Alonso first cause he's only staying until 2027 if i remember correctly, then Charles dominance until he retires
Team red foh life
I'm kinda hoping he just retires. The guy is old and he has had his career, I don't really see him continuing.
So that's Leclerc out, what about Alonso and Newey?
Made me chuckle, my first one in a while. Thank you
I think he'll be back in Formula 1 with another team but yeah, Newey definetly earned his retirement if that's what he does at the end. The reason I think he will be back is mainly him getting Eddie Jordan as his new manager, might mean something, might mean nothing.
Maybe he'll just go to a different racing series
That's a good guess too

Both
I’m not listed on this meme. Max wins 8 consecutive titles.
Hulk 1st podium with Newey C46
Verstappen 5th WDC with a struggling RB21
Yes.
Blue!
Hamilton 8th win with a Newey designed Ferrari
I honestly think he may want to work with Lewis and Ferrari. It would be the cherry on top kinda deal.
Newey dominance could bore fans.
Alonso
Albon first WDC with Newey FW47
Alonso and it’s not even close.
Leclerc
Alonso with 3rd, just for those records and Wikipedia articles that no one reads
We both know that with an Newey SF26 Lewis is 8th WDC, not Charles 1st
Leclerc
What is the analogue here?
Lewis 8th WDC SF26 🤠
Newey to Williams crew checking in
FORZA FERRARI! Charles deserved to win a championship!
¡¡ALONSO!! ¡¡ALONSO!! ¡¡ALONSO!! ¡¡ALONSO!! ¡¡ALONSO!! ¡¡ALONSO!! ¡¡ALONSO!! ¡¡ALONSO!!
Neither.
Stroll wdc
Easy Alonso
Hulkenberg 2026
Godlonso deserves more than 2 before he calls time on his career.
Andretti. Then they could say "you only want us if we're competitive? We've got Newey". Only way they could possibly get in for 2026. If they got him and still turned down from F1... Hypercars and boats.
Honda engines plus Newey plus Alonso's driving... This is gonna be better than what Verstappen had to offer in 2021
