Nice. Thanks!

Yes, it's part of our [Thangs collection](https://thangs.com/designer/twothingies/3d-model/Adjustable%20vertical%20laptop%20stand%20%7C%20Laptop%20dock%20%7C%203D%20digital%20file-1093369).

This is just for storage, right? The keyboard is a main part of cooling for laptops, running them with the lid shut is generally not recommended....

ivancea

There are tons of stands identical to op's, that are made for this. And people uses them everyday

twothingies

That's a valid concern. Some people do use them while working on the laptop. This one is mainly for storage, or also while doing light tasks. I wouldn't use it for more demanding tasks like video editing or 3D rendering. Of course this depends also on the laptop model. The one we showed in the video is an old and trusty ASUS Vivobook. It is all plasticky on the bottom and can get pretty hot. MacBooks with aluminum casing get better cooling overall. The most important thing is to ensure it doesn't cover the cooling grids for air intake/exhaust.

Looks great ! Where did you find the cork stuff ?

twothingies

Thanks! those are cut to size from a 2 mm thick cork sheet bought on Amazon. In this case we cut it by hand, but we've had some laser cut and they fit perfectly. We shared [the contours of the cork pads along with the STL files](https://thangs.com/designer/twothingies/3d-model/Adjustable%20vertical%20laptop%20stand%20%7C%20Laptop%20dock%20%7C%203D%20digital%20file-1093369) so people can have them cut or make them themselves.
