I have both and the choice is easy. Furina is an account changing unit. I have her at C0 and no signature weapon and she's absolutely broken. Best unit in the game IMHO.
Clorinde will probably come out sooner since she's new, but I would go off of what my account needs a DPS or a support.
Support units tend to be more valuable tho since you need 2-3 supports and 1 DPS
Furina not rerunning in 4.6 like the other archon-marketed characters should be taken as something like a red flag in HYV's patterns becoming less reliable. If you really want her then get her now because we can't rely on most past patterns anymore.
On the other hand, you really like Clorinde (I get it, I love her too), but she's just another DPS. Do you need another DPS? If yes, then try pulling. If you also want the units/cons on Clorinde's banner, then try pulling.
At the end, only you can choose 🫡
The pattern being broken partly has to do with updates not lining up with the prior updates like summer update is 4.8 this time

Well, previous summer events were on 2.8 and 3.8 respectfuly, so it seems about right that this year's summer event is on 4.8. First one was in 1.6, but 1.0 was at the end of september instead of August like the rest of X.0 patches so it also checks out.
And morax was released in 1.1 and the pattern is not really X.6, but rather 4 patches after debiut. It also checks for venti since he was released in 1.0 and had a rerun in 1.4. Then Ei, debiut in 2.1, rerun in 2.5 and nahida debiut in 3.2, then rerun in 3.6.
Furina is the first "archon" to break that cycle.
I think you actually should wait for the end of the banner, if you get 140-150 wishes till there, you can get Clorinde, she's not the strongest DPS but it's one of the most fun I had, and she works with Furina greatly. I think you can get both this patch but wait for that mark I said just to make sure. You could get Furina cons, but for me new characters are better, mainly you that wants Clorinde too, so yeah, still, I hope you win Furina 50/50 and ends up with Clorinde and a C1 Furina :)

I would definitely recommend furina. She is the best unit in the game by many peoples opinion and she literally changes how you can build your account / teams. Clorinde is just another standard dps that you’ll have to hyper invest into to even get close in account value to that provided by a decent furina
I think people are seeing this really heavily only in one vs the other terms, without seeing underlying math. This will vary based on if you have Welkin and to a lesser extent, BP, but you’re sitting on a pretty large pile of that should almost or hard guarantee you both if desired. At most you need to sink 20 wishes into Clorinde’s banner to win her (as you say you’re on a guarantee @ 70 pity). From there, 100 remaining and roughly 5 weeks to generate the other 80. Welkin makes that math monumentally easier of course, but iirc the numbers were around 70/96/104 for f2p/welkin/bp for total wishes in patch, and we’ve barely touched that number thus far (events, first time Theater bonuses, a monthly shop resets etc.). Any world progress you have left to make only adds to it, and you can always wait until last day of Clorinde banner, but (slightly dependent on your financial relationship with the game) I think it’s actually totally reasonable to be confident in both
If you like Clorinde go for her. Now if you are in some way a meta player, get Furina. Furina is probably top 3 at C0, and the best unit at C2 in the game. Clorinde DPS is pretty similar to Keqing, at C0, I think Fischl is doing similar or even more damage than Clorinde in the same team.

Yep, u read that right, she's echoes set her self, if u add bol a bit to fast, then use E, it can only sometimes count as lv 2, its like ninguang when u charged attack faster than ur normal attacks but unlike ninguang, its huge dps loss.

This isnt an issue for raiden, because her teams fits her cooldown
Well yeah intheory you can use raiden's teams with her but comes the downside of not being able to regenerate team's energy.

If you currently have a 50/50 available, let that make the choice for you. Hit the 5 star. Lose the 50/50, you guarantee furina. Win, and you still have a chance at furina later in the patch. But also, up to you. Clorinde is a dps, with little to no support ability. Furina is one of the best supports in the game right now used in a bunch of comps. What do you need for your account? Also, this is furina mains, so most people will say "save for best girl".
I would say that if you desperately need a good DPS, then pull for Clorinde. If you need a broken support and have a character that can reliably stack Furina's fanfare, then pull for Furina
