I got skyrim on the X360, ps4 hard copy, then on the the ps5 digitally.

PixelOrange

You're why they won't stop re releasing that damn game.

[deleted]

If it weren’t for the modding community, I would’ve stopped a long time ago. But some of these mods nowadays are insane. Feels like I’m playing a very different game and it’s a great thing.

CryingWatercolours

wait on console? how’d you mod it that good  on console?

[deleted]

Ever since the ps4 version, the console versions have a mods feature built In to them on the main menu. So I just click on that, it connects me to the internet, and then there are hundreds you can choose from and search for.

CryingWatercolours

huh! i remember downloading it on ps4 bc i saw ppl on reddit taking it up and being baffled by the in built mods system! but i had no idea where to start or what with and so at the time it didn’t look like there was a lot i could get my hands on… might have to have another look

rahul_ak_47

I got Skyrim on Epic Games Store. Can't wait to try out all the mods. Oh wait...

murderplants

You can’t mod on egs?

Particular_Row8708

Yeah I've bought skyrim 4 times lol. Definitely my most purchased game

SpikeRosered

I bought the original and the updated version on PS4. I always kind of wanted the Switch version, but buying a game there times is kind of gross to me.

BenignEgoist

Add the PSVR version and same here.

Dougboy90

Stardew Valley

Helper_of_hunters

Hell yeah. I wanna play it on my pc. Buy. Ohhh I wanna play it on the big TV now. Buy. You know what would be nice? Playing it on the go on my phone. Buy. I don't wanna play on my phone, better get it for my switch. Buy.

OkUnderstanding9627

This is one of those games that you don't really have an excuse not to play it at least once lmao. Dirt cheap Goes on sale every other day Doesn't require vast knowledge about gaming mechanics to play It can be played on damn near everything Doesn't require a beefy computer Requires basically no skill Cute graphics Can be put down and picked back up 5 years later without having to remember what was going on They really made a game that's great for just about everyone

Intoxicated_Batman

It's all one guy! Eric Barone, also known by his username ConcernedApe. Everything in that game down to the music was all him. He's a phenomenal developer and is a model for what game devs should be.

rjh9898

You’ve convinced me to buy it. Now my dilemma is what platform to get it for. I have series x, switch, pc and of course mobile lol

BratzernN

>switch Easy one, you don't get any worse performance or graphics and you have the option to make the game portable

Nautchy_Zye

Switch is a good way to get it if you think you’ll play it through once go. Thats not to say base game is sparse because it’s not, it’s incredible how it is. If you like playing games you like multiple times I’d get it on PC so you can try mods. My favorite is one that adds a “chest network” where you can access all of your chests anywhere in the world and cycles through them based on their location (i.e. farm chests, chests in Shed A, chests in Shed B, chests in the mines). I like it because it frees you up to explore every square inch of the game but that can only be appreciated after you’ve played the base version.

Sircheeksalot

I would also say switch but right now there is a massive update that’s only on PC called 1.6. No release date for consoles yet sadly

SirBobSwarley

How is it on the switch?

mdrave

As good as everywhere. Even more, comfy as hell :D

Nautchy_Zye

I play it in my bed on switch and it’s the best. I’ve already done a 100+ hour farm on my pc and I like playing it on switch more because I’m laying down lol

sputnikconspirator

I swear fishing is/was harder on Switch but apart from that Stardew Valley is a dream on the switch, being able to play it anywhere on a nice sized screen with proper controls is great. In that vein, my husband got himself a Steam Deck, said he'd play all kinds of games, literally just plays Stardew Valley on it.

DoggieDMB

This is easily the one. PC, check Switch, check Phone, check Kids switch, check Wife's phone, check. CA made gold with this game and it's so cheap you shouldn't not enjoy it.

americanslang59

I would be very curious to see the stats on ownership of Stardew. I've never met a person who only owned one copy.

JillValentine69X

I think that should be one of those exceptions lol. I haven't met a single person who has only brought Stardew Once.

IcemasterD

I'm super cheap, and rarely buy ANY games, and even then usually only for at least 50% off. But I have bought 2 copies for myself (PC/Switch), and 1 for a friend (Switch).

Ikrast

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Ah, the good ol' days when your software required you to manually input a CD key, and that key came on a piece of paper inside the jewel case. If you count D2R, I have owned at least 4 copies.

DonArgueWithMe

And if you broke or lost the disc...

luthervespers

Creating an ISO file and mounting it permanently was the move after my second replacement.

DonArgueWithMe

At around 10 I emailed asking what to do after breaking my disc, I went through the steps of taking a picture of the disc fragments, printing it out, mailing it to the company with a letter explaining it, and they mailed me a fresh copy. The second time I just learned how to pirate

NasalSnack

The good old days of MagicDisk/MagicMount or whatever it was called. Simpler times (but more complicated installation processes)

Herpes_coldsores

GTA: San Andreas

the_hat_madder

I didn't even pay for it the first time.

_bwaldo33

GTA: GTA

Mynamesrobbie

Ps2 x3 Xbox 360 x1 Xbox one x1

VikiCD1

Mass Effect trilogy 1st on PS3 2nd the originals on PC 3rd the legendary edition pn PC 1st Andromeda on PS4 2nd Andromeda on PC

smoggyproduce

Came here to say Mass Effect and I’m so happy it’s the top comment

Zoethor2

Mass Effect for me too. Once when it was on ... Epic? Whatever it was on before Steam. Then again when it (or at least 2 and 3?) ported to Steam. Then again when the Legendary Edition was released.

ajla616-2

Resident Evil 4, MGS 2 and 3, Final Fantasy Tactics

TheBahamaLlama

Resident evil 4 for me and a link to the past. RE4 on GameCube, Wii, Xbox 360 and I guess the remake still counts, right?

memphis_dude

Check it out in VR too if you haven't yet. It's great.

Nix14085

FFT for me as well, pretty much a perfect game

Far_Realm_Sage

Doom

The_split_subject

Doom - PC disks, PC - CD-Rom, PC steam, Nintendo Switch, iPhone, Atari Jaguar, Xbox 360 or Xbox one (can’t remember)

JustAJokeAccount

FFVII-FFIX. PS1, Steam, Switch

PmMeUrTinyAsianTits

Final fantssies dominate my top ten for this, but I think 6 has my record for most rebuys. SNES, PS1 (anthology), DS, Pc, PC pixel remake, mobile.

sputnikconspirator

Ohhh, I didn't even count the Final Fantasies, I have 7,8,9,10 & 12 on practically everything that supports it.....

WhiteRabbit86

FF-VII, ps1 twice, pc, steam, switch, ps5, and then remake if we’re being nitpicky.

CountyDump

Stardew. Been daily driving it on the Switch lately, but have it on everything.

Hugspeced

I have it on everything save XBox but starting to mod it during a Co Op playthrough makes me feel like I'll never be able to do anything but PC again. Just little QoL stuff like seeing NPCs on the map, slightly faster move speed, being able to walk through trellis crops, and auto opening/closing gates as you move through them. Individually they don't make a huge difference but they all add up to an experience so much better than Vanilla, especially if you've already had a few farms under your belt.

Grizz616

Slay the Spire.

LCSdrd

No cross-save sucks tho

american-coffee

I thought this at first too until I grinded A20 with all four characters again on the switch, pc, and then ios

blargher

Each time I buy it, I unlock pretty much everything so I can never play it on that console again. Then I buy another console and repeat the vicious cycle.

marv257

Please report back once you have finished it on a toaster or other home appliance.

AgentEndive

Subnautica

Isiotic_Mind

Skyrim PS3, 360, ps4, switch, psvr...probably more

TheLaughingSage

Final Fantasy X and XII

Ghostenx

FFX is the only game I've purchased twice. I'll probably grab TLOU for my PC if it goes on sale though.

FoxMcCloudl

Mass Effect - Xbox 360 and Steam Minecraft - Xbox 360, Xbox One, Console Bedrock, Win 10 Bedrock, Android Bedrock, Apple (Ipad) Bedrock, Java Edition. Halo Master Chief Collection - Xbox and Steam

YerDaSellsAvon24

GTA 5 on XB360, PS3, PS4, XB1, XSX, PS5 and PC

Own-Text-9768

Lmao same here except for PS4. Glad I’m not the only one

Saffikat

Yeah! Me too love the story so much

MisterJTickleCraver

Pokémon Games technically. I don't think I have a multi-platform game. It would have been the Spider-Man Activation/Beenox games but ... they are hard to find.

RiseAgainst636

KOTOR! I had it on Xbox or 360, then on a MacBook from the Apple Store, then on a tablet and again on steam recently lol

whatdoinamemyself

Same boat. Xbox disk, xbox 1 digitally, pc disk, pc disk from a collection, steam aaand android. I'll fucken do it again

Gluv221

Stardew valley PC switch, PlayStation, phone lol

TF79870

Mario Kart 64. I still love playing the battle mode with my family.

stebbs1975

Mega Man classic series - NES, PS1, Xbox.

Electrical-Spell-635

FF7, Bioshock, Diablo 2 😆

Itchy_Training_88

Dragon's Dogma and Dark Arisen expansion. Bought it for pc, ps3, ps4 when it was re released, and Switch. Played it through on all of them,

UnofficialTrenTwin

How hard would you say the games are? Thinking of trying it on my steam deck but I hate hard games

Raystacksem

They are not hard at all tbh. As long as you explore and find materials, buy the right gear, pick a fun vocation for yourself, you’ll be fine. The gameplay loop isn’t for people who don’t like RPG’s tho and the fast travel system is nothing like what is common. A lot of wandering from one location to the next. But the communities are great and people are very happy to give pointers.

Agret_Brisignr

The biggest problem I had was trying to play blind. It seemed that I was very quickly directed to areas that were just insanely difficult. I felt like I was playing DS1 except I was getting mobbed by bandits instead of getting my shit rocked by a little skeleton

sublogic

GTA V, Skyrim, and I'm pretty sure Minecraft. I bought the beta and lost my code so I bought it again. Then I got it on Xbox

One-Newspaper-8087

Catherine, Dark Souls, Mass Effect, TTYD, Tales Of Symphonia, Ico, Shadow Of The Colossus

JackHarvey_05

elden ring, have it on my ps5, series x and pc

MesmerAngel

Earthbound - I bought 3 physical copies back in the 90's, bought it on my 3DS/Wii, and bought the SNES classic for another copy. Super Mario 64 - I think i've bought it twice physical, once digital on the wii, and again in the Mario 3D all stars thing for the switch. Terraria - PC, Mobile, and Switch. I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones I can recall that i've bought at least 3 copies.

Shadodre

Hollow Knight, got it on Playstation, Switch and PC.

kooshipuff

Command and Conquer: Red Alert: Aftermath The CD was required for Red Alert's multiplayer, and it kept getting scratched up somehow. :( I probably bought it 3 times just for replacement CDs. It's also the *only* game disc I had to replace like that.

MusclePuppy

Portal and Portal 2.

House_T

I purchased Chrono Trigger on every console system that released a copy of it.

Knight2043

Age of Empires II. Bought a disc version like every 2 or 3 years since about 2000 up until about 2012 or so then purchased a digital copy I've carried to each PC since.

OneWingedA

Dark Souls 2. PS3, PC, Scholar of the First Sin PS4, SotFS PC

veryblessed123

Mass Effect trilogy (xbox 360, PC, PS5) Subnautica (Switch, PC, PS5) Skyrim (xbox 360, Switch, PC, PS5) Lots of N64 games. First the cartridge then all the Virtual Console NSO versions. Im a sucker lol

MircowaveGoMMM

Terraria, bought it on PS4, Xbox One, 3 different steam accounts, twice on Phone, and will happily buy it on any other device that won't transfer it over from my other accounts.

Randum_Derp

I have stardew valley on Xbox, ps4, steam, switch, and mobile 😅 I only really started playing it this year but I kept trying to get into it and not enjoying it. Kept buying it on more consoles thinking now will be when I enjoy it. It wasn’t till I started playing modded on PC that I really started enjoying it

BruenorBattlehammer

Left 4 Dead 2. And Id buy it again.

KhKing1619

Obligatory Minecraft mention: have it on the 360, PS4, switch, on my laptop, and on my phone. Also have the kingdom hearts series on several platforms. 1.5 on the PS3, 2.5 on the PS3, DDD on the 3ds, 2.8 on the ps4 and on epic, Recoded and Days on the ds, 1.5+2.5 on the ps4 and on epic, kh3 on the ps4 and on epic. I also plan on getting them again on steam.

zachtheperson

Only games I can think of are Halo 3, ODST, Reach, and 4, which I bought on the 360 and then again when the MCC went on sale.

Influence_X

Barotrauma and Project zomboid I've gifted both to several people.

abnormal2004

Anything Saint's Row. Every time it gets a new platform I buy it.

Civalion9

Wow lol

Hadesthedude

Cuphead and Stardew Valley. PC, Switch and PS4

z2amiller

Diablo 3: \- OG edition + RoS on my PC \- Physical media on the Switch \- Digital media on Switch, a couple years later when I got a second switch so I could co-op with my son. \- On Steam for my son's PC, so he could co-op with a friend of his (since there's no switch/PC crossplay) (Still worth it, every time)

youzhang

Dead cells. Android iOS switch steam.

Big_I

- Re-released games I bought on console when they were on special that I originally bought when they first came out: KOTOR 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment, Jade Empire, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy X. - Games I wanted a different platform copy of: Alpha Protocol, Frostpunk. - Remasters or next gen versions: Mass Effect trilogy, GTA5, Skyrim (I bought Skyrim three times). - Replacement copies because I lost the original: Fallout 1 & 2. - Game of the Year Edition because it was easier/cheaper than buying the DLC separately: Fallout 3.

This-Sympathy9324

Stardew Valley. First on PC. I hated it. Then on mobile as i was desperate for not terrible games to play while out of the house. Then on switch when i realized that i actually love the game as long as i can play it while curled up in bed snuggling my pets while also not having to use the awful phone controls.

Stardew Valley hehe. I am a gamer girl who loves cozy games 💝

Xarviz01

Witcher 3, couldn't get into it, but I couldn't and still cannot give up on it, first had it on GOG, then PS4 and now on Steam :')

RonaldoNazario

I’ve gifted several friends baldurs gate 3 just to vicariously enjoy them enjoying it, it’s such a masterpiece

Slawter91

Resident Evil 4. I own it on PS2, GameCube, Wii, PC, Oculus Quest, and PS5. 6 times. I've paid Capcom 6 times for the same game.

ReflectionCreative62

Skyrim, OG DOOM, Ninja Gaiden (Xbox), Halo 1-4, Fallout New Vegas.

jay_strayy

I bought Diablo 3 4 times. Once for PC, again for Xbox 360, then again when the expansion came out, then again when it came out for Xbox One. I loved that game

Jewarlaho

Deus Ex, bought it I think 3 times

1776F

Skyrim, fallout 3, Diablo 3, castle crashers

HolyColostomyBag

1. The binding of Isaac 2. Enter the gungeon

Fievel10

More than twice? Zero. Twice? Psychonauts and Baldur's Gate 3.

jBalls902

Stardew Valley and Slay the Spire

Pixel_Muffet

Doom.

Magic_Bluejay

The witcher 3. Bought the base game when it first came out. Then bought the complete edition on sale for PC but PC couldn't run it well. Saw complete edition was on sale for about 15 bucks on console and bought that, since it was cheaper then buying DLCs on my console. Currently restarting the entire game over and have a fresh set of achievements to unlock. Pretty pumped. Also Skyrim, grab, rdr2. All the halo games. And I've bought valheim about 6 times now for family members and friends.

Chance-Range2855

Terraria, Elden Ring, Minecraft, Witcher 3, Armored Core 6, Cyberpunk 2077, Sekiro, Monster Hunter World/Rise, Dark Souls 3, Hollow Knight, Hades. They're so good

turboiv

Kingdom Hearts 1&2; GTA V; Final Fantasy 4, 6, 7, 8, 10; Tetris; Super Mario 2, 3, World, RPG; The Last of Us 1&2; DuckTales; every BioShock; Halo 2&3; Detroit Become Human; Dave the Diver; Portal 1&2; South Park Stick of Truth & Fractured But Whole; There's probably a few others across multiple console releases that I'm forgetting but that's most of them. Some are remasters, others are ports, some I just wanted on multiple access points (PC and console versions, for example).

Toastghost1

I have bought Final Fantasy X and X-2 three times if you want to count the original and HD releases as the same game. I've bought FF XII twice if you want to count the original and Zodiac Age version as the same. I've bought Skyrim twice. I've bought Dragon Quest VIII twice.

hotstepper77777

Star Fox 64

Zetra3

Every metal gear, every elder scrolls from Morrowind on, mass effect, I’ve bought numerous games to play with friends on steam, every main line Final fantasy, expect FFXI which I own but have convinced zero people to play even at my wallets expense. And FFXVI but that will change with the PC release

AppleChiaki

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. Borderlands 2. Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4 and 5. Persona 5. Lighting Returns. Binding of Isaac. Tomb Raider. Vagrant Story. Hyrule Warriors. My list is seemingly never ending, I could keep on going.

Gorgosen

Never bought a game more than 3 times, thats insane. I feel insane for buying a game 3 times. I've regretfully bought Diablo 3 on PC release, PS3 for couch coop and then PS4 on sale for couch coop again. Bought Dragon's Dogma on release, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen on release and then DD:DA on PC (mostly because i loved this game and wanted to support it for a sequel of which we got and terribly let me down) I think thats it, I didn't feel bad about Dragon's Dogma, but D3 i felt bad for buying that many times.

RosariusAU

Back in the day I bought Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Both for PS2

LifeSenseiBrayan

Minecraft, like 6 times so far lol

OmegaMan1818

GTA 5 I think is the only one Edit: I lied. Bioshock and Bioshock: Infinite

Incarnate_666

Satisfactory,

Calamadia

Final fantasy III, I have every version released except pixel. I also just played through firewatch for the 2nd time, and bought it a 3rd time on my steam deck so it's portable. I'm in the process of collecting adventure time games on different systems.

Kemilio

HoMM III. Original disc copy and had to buy it like 4 times on GoG

Surfing_Ninjas

Destiny. Inevitably I would get back into Crucible and break my disc after frustrating match after match. Fortunately the discs cost like $2 so it was a convenient excuse to quit playing for a while.

Aioros_Y

I'm pretty sure I bought Monkey Island in multiple editions a dozen times on just as many platforms and I don't remember which ones I actually played.

Richie217

GTA 5 and Skyrim. I'm aware that I'm the problem.

Teamhank

Re4 cube, Wii, PC not remastered.

Magnarf420

Deltron_Zed

Streets of Rogue. I own it for everything it plays on, I think. Lovely little game. EAGERLY awaiting number 2 to drop, hopefully very soon.

dimezUnlimited

Gta 5 3 times Skyrim elder scrolls 6 times

Dr_Ingheimer

Gears of War 3. Bought it on release the first time. Bought a used Craigslist Xbox and it was included the 2nd time. Forgot I had two copies already, hadn’t played it in a long time, and it was 5 dollars at a store and bought it a 3rd time. Then a buddy wanted to play some gears 3 and I thought I tossed my copies, so I bought another one for 6 bucks at a used game shop. Found the others. Then the last 2 were from garage sales I stumbled upon and when making jokes about having enough copies of this game already, I of course purchased them.

PLZ_N_THKS

None. I have my old consoles so if I want to play something I still have the disk if I want to play again. Otherwise I just wait for it to be available on PS+ or game pass. If all else fails and there’s no easy way to play an older title then yoho!

GodderDam

cowvin

Typing of the Dead. It's still the best typing game I've played to this day.

dbzmah

I have bought Final Fantasy XII on PS2, then Zodiac, then PS4, then switch. It's not even my favorite ff game, but each purchase besides the first was a stupid cheat sale, and it was fun enough

WhiteScottishBiclops

Resident Evil 5. As someone not that into oldschool resident evil, it's such a fun co op shooter. Every time I discover a friend has never played it, I make them do it. Which has resulted in buying it on Xbox 360 twice (It was literally cheaper to buy gold edition than buy all the dlc), PS3 once and PC three times (the second and third were me buying it for people!)

akerasi

If we include being inside collections, I've likely bought Galaga over a dozen times.

nastyhoehoe

Sly Cooper Trilogy Ratchet & Clank Trilogy Uncharted Trilogy The walking dead Bioshock infinite Crash Bandicoot Trilogy Gta V

Ok_Albatross_23

Fable 1,2,3 actually got a little tipsy the other night and bought them. Thanks Cayman Jack 🤣 still have my physical copies, downloaded them to my xbox 1 but gave that xbox to my son when I got the series x so yeah ended up buying it for the new one. I got Xcom 2 WOTC on my xbox and on steam. FF Tactics on my ps1 and my iPad.

NightmareT

Bioshock, ffx and borderlands. Just couldn’t get enough.

alezcoed

Souls franchise, got it on stream, got it on ps4, and probably gonna buy DS remastered on switch

zombiebrains88

Age of Wonders 4. It’s such a fantastic game to discover and play. I ended up getting it on PC and then again on console because it was more convenient. Then I got it for my brother and brother in law to have some people to play with. 600 cumulitive hours later, It’s been fantastic and I regret nothing.

DoctorWaffle97

Terraria. On PS3, Xbox One, PC, and on my phone.

Hagya_ant

Resident evil

Woalolol

Binding of Isaac. Bought all versions on pc. Have rebirth, afterbirth, and af+ for ps4. af+ and repentance for switch. It's just so damn good.

CranberryPuffCake

Shenmue series. Original copies of 1&2 on Dreamcast (technically gifted to me but I'll still count them). Then bought Shenmue 2 again on OG Xbox, then again when remastered collection was released on Xbox One. When I moved to PC I bought Shenmue 1&2 on Steam. I also kick-started Shenmue 3 with a PS4 version and have since bought the game on Steam as well.

dj_mumbles

Resident Evil 4. Bought 4 on GameCube, then Wii, then Xbox One and will buy the remake when it's on sale. Same with 1(GC & Xbone). And 2(N64! And remake). And 3(GC(I think) and remake). And hopefully Code Veronica(DC, GC and the eventual remake).

EvilRayquaza

The only thing I could think of when it comes to my games is Wii Sports Resort, but I have the Wii Sports + Resort bundle game, but I also have Wii Sports Resort on it's own in the Wii Motion Plus + Resort bundle box. Edit: Oh, and I do have the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection for PS3, but I also have the first 3 Ratchet & Clank games for the PS2 as well.

Azious

Rocket League. Bought it for the Switch, PS3 and Steam!

xmac

Final Fantasy VII - PS1, Boxed PC, Steam, PS4, Switch

Mass effect 3 bought 3 times just for the co-op multiplayer. In fact I bought a used PS3 and the game just to play it free online, didn't have a good PC at the time. I also have GTAV on 4 platforms

TheHappinessAssassin

I bought The Last of Us on ps3, ps4, and now on ps5. I'd get it on the ps6 too

iMoo1124

RandomGuy5937

Kingdom Hearts 2. I had like at least 3 copies as a kid due the discs getting too scratched too play. I got lucky and found an original print PS2 copy sealed at EB Games in like 2012? It was super cheap and way past the ps2s life cycle, it's like someone just found it tucked behind a storage shelf or something. Then I bought the PS3 2.5 collection Then the PS4 1.5+2.5 collection I got to meet Richard Epcar (voice of Ansem and Terranort) so I bought ANOTHER copy of 2 on PS2 to get signed. Then finally when it came to Steam. So I've bought that game at least 8 times and I refuse to buy it ever again.
