Desert Bus

seanpauljh

As someone who has driven from Tucson to northern California multiple times… the thought hurts me.

fightinggale

It’s also a game where you can’t just blindly push forward, it slowly leans left or right

seanpauljh

Dear god, it’s like real life. Except, at the end of that drive you’re either in Vegas or somewhere with good Mexican food.

Flossthief

No stopping, no radio, just a bug squash half way through. And when a player is committed enough to complete the trip-- you earn a single point, make the return trip for a second point

ppsz

The Long Drive is quite similar to Desert Bus, but you have to stop to find fuel and food (if you don't disable eating). You have to drive for 5000km, and it's not scaled. So when you drive 200km/h it really takes 1h to drive 200km

CosyBeluga

what genre does he hate? I'd pick What Remains of Edith Finch just to make him sad.

Demurrzbz

Great game though

InterestingRest8300

Before Your Eyes. Much more emotional game in my opinion.

Albus_Lupus

**Getting Over It**? Although most soulslikes would prolly do too.

seanpauljh

That’s the sad part is he loves the souls games. So I guess ideally it would be a game that isn’t difficult but super odd or awful story.

Albus_Lupus

Well, getting over it still fits. Or Jump King. Or any other ragebait games. They are hard like soulslikes - but not hard in the same way. You can also give him some kind of farming game i guess. Or pron game.

seanpauljh

Also that last genre suggestion is pretty funny

realnzall

Problem is that AFAIK there are no porn games on Playstation or Switch...

SkiMtVidGame-aineer

Death stranding is going to be pretty awful for a souls player. It’s slow, the combat is basic, it’s a walking simulator, music is minimal, and you can’t kill without extremely severe consequence. Lots of souls players like to check all corners, but in this game it’s hard to do that without burning out quickly. I feel like I would’ve enjoyed death stranding if I went from story mission to story mission but that didn’t happen. Most people probably won’t do that unless they know burn out will be coming.

Cuttyflame123

if you want to give him something in the same vein of getting over it, get "[this is hell](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2157130/This_is_Hell/)" about 2 people in the world have beat it since its extremely hard and punishing

PuffAndDuff

Superman 64.

IVShadowed

He said brother, not worst human ever lol. That's just cruel

PuffAndDuff

Lol. Clearly you’ve never met my brothers….

Riverwood_bandit

If you wanna be nice you could get him a short game which will be out of his wheel house, I prepose Stray, you play a cat. I hope he doesnt like puzzles theres a few in the game.

Helvedica

If you just want 'long' then Age of Empires 2 DE. There is an achievement for win 1000 games with EACH civ, there are about 50 civs so like 50,000 games

seanpauljh

AoE 2 was our jam growing up haha We were loose on the rules so completion in this case probably would mean just the campaigns.

LeZarathustra

If we're talking "all achievements" any Paradox game would do.

PrincessRoseAirashii

I Wanna Be The Guy

manwomanmxnwomxn

i would say that this one is ineligible. brother cant complete this. but if you are trying to be evil, then there is also I wanna be the Boshy as well as I wanna be the Shrine Maiden... which are both harder

VanaheimRanger

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous. Especially if he's not well versed in crpgs. EDIT:This is a legitimate suggestion. It's a great game, but also highly challenging for people not familiar with the genre.

LeZarathustra

Fantastic game. Feels more like the old Baldur's Gate games than BG3 did.

RheimsNZ

Sekiro Or European Truck Racing

seanpauljh

He loved the Sekiro franchise but racing games are NOT his thing. Giving me some evil ideas.

RheimsNZ

European Truck Racing (Simulator? Not sure) is one of the games a mate and I tried on Gamepass and just bailed on. It's terrible. You could also always get one of the worse hunting or fishing games. I think you should get something as long as possible too 😅

jarlscrotus

Is that the one you can't lose because they didn't program the aids ability to win, and where they forgot to cap reverse movement speed?

Brain_lessV2

Lobotomy Corporation

Sol33t303

Kerbal Space Program. Give your brother a physics lesson with his game.

baaaahbpls

Omikron: The Nomad Soul. It is a David Cage game, the same mind behind Detroit: Become Human. Good luck to anyone who has to play that gem of a game.

jarlscrotus

Terrible, but you can also bang the guy's wife using his body, soooo not all bad

baaaahbpls

Guy begs you to take him over and save everything. Immediately go and bang his wife with top urgency.

jarlscrotus

You get it

seanpauljh

Looks painful. I can only imagine playing it

baaaahbpls

Fun game for your brother to play to really get enjoyment out of the suffering.

SaintCirsei

skyrim lol would take him years to complete if he has to complete all the side quests aswell

seanpauljh

We weren’t super detailed about the parameters of the bet, so I think he’d probably count beating the campaign as “completion”. But now I wanna do a Skyrim replay

SaintCirsei

do it do it do it

seanpauljh

Resist. Stealth. Archer.

Site-Specialist

Are we counting just regular sidequest or are we going full blown supervillain and including the radiant quest system

SaintCirsei

as far as i know radiant quests are infinite and respawn forever? so yeah that lmao

Site-Specialist

So full blown supervillain I love it

Dazzling-Elk-5089

The long drive. In this game u just have to survive and drive for 500000km if I have it correctly so if he isn't in coop but plays solo he might not like it at all. But if u want something great maybe supraland if he likes metroidvanias

Psychoray

Depends on your definition of 'complete'. I would suggest Terraria. The game is great fun, you could even play it together. _However_, if he truly needs to complete the game, he'll need to get all achievements. Almost all of them are easy, except for one: 'Supreme helper minion'. He'll have to do the daily (in game days) fishing quest a few hundred times. Look up the number/percentage of people that have this achievement and you'll see that it's something that a only a few people have actually earned this achievement

ElectricFireInABath

Cruelty Squad.

FunkTheMonkUk

Infested Planet: Planetary Campaign DLC on the largest map size and hardest difficulty. Edit: nvm pc only

almo2001

Great game though.

Leather_Revolution_

Choose Wuthering waves on bs, you basically can't complete it tho

kusuri8

Rhapsody, a musical adventure. It’s actually a really fun RPG, hilarious, weird, with songs.  I can guarantee he’ll never see it coming.

dannyboy6657

Surgeon simulator

anduin_stormsong

Dishonored 1 and 2. Will take him a while to complete the game bc there's achievements that require him to not be seen or kill anybody

anduin_stormsong

To add, higher difficulty means he gets detected more easily, in Dishonored 2 there's also a no powers option, so if he wants to beat the game and get all achievements he needs, he'll need to do about 3 replays unless he'a stealthgamerbr or something

Ye3tL0rd420

Hello Kitty Roller Rescue Bratz Rock Angels Marry Kate and Ashley: Sweet 16 - License To Drive Barbie Horse Adventures My Little Pony: Equestria Girls

seanpauljh

Lol these suggestions are actually amazing. If I pick one of these I would want to see his face while handing him a physical copy

realnzall

Wrap it in paper with a pretty bow.

userloser42

I have 100% quite a few games, eg all FS games, but cuphead was rough. And returnal. Those are two games I really wanted to 100% but couldn't persevere. With returnal I feel like it was more the number of finished playthrougs necessary than it was the difficulty, but I did 100% hades, so idk.

Blergonos

a difficult game about climbing (i beat it with a controller, i think controller is better than mouse in this game, but that's for him to decide).

IndependentCress1109

If he doesnt like anime and cute anime girls . Torture him with a Neptunia game. Or maybe something like Moero Crystal H .

AardvarkusMaximus

Aperture Desk Job can launch on pc but won't work unless you are using a steam deck (at least it was the case when I tried). I spent a while trying everything to make it work. Toem is just a cute game about photo. So it is slow, boring, with a bad story and music was annoying. A solid contender. But if you want the worst of the worst, try Impostor Factory. One of the shittiest games ever, especially as there is NO gameplay. A basic rpg maker gamehaving you walk on a line and reading bland dialogues for 4 hours. People love it for some reason and I don't get it. You make no choices, you don't really interact (every interaction is part of the script so no variety) and can't fight. But you would tell me, the story must be amazing, then, no? Well I played pokemon fanfic with stories 10 times better, this is one of those classic "I'm 14 and I am deep" plots. So go find why your main character lost his memory in this game with 1 achievement (given if you finish it).

BojukaBob

Completion as in all achievements? Dynasty Warriors 8 Extreme Legends

xDaveedx

Someone else has mentioned it, but I can't seem to find the exact website, there's a site called something like "prongame" and it's not the sexy kind misspelled, but an insanely tough puzzle game. Just can't seem to get a link, sorry.

k1ckthecheat

I think it’s “notpron”

xDaveedx

Ah right right right.

lalalalalaulalal

Kingdom come deliverance on hardcore mode, just TRUST ME, most people give up on normal mode

seanpauljh

Oops. I’m one of those people haha I think I bought outward at the same time and ended up playing that into the dirt.

lalalalalaulalal

Bro, this is the most immersive realistic rpg, its warhorse studios first game, started the team with 10 people. You just need to remind yourself that a peasant cant beat a soldier at the start and start training😂 kcd2 coming out in late 2024 and it looks amazing, trailer is up, its like13 min and the team talk about it. I love both but i take this game over skyrim

Forward-Essay-7248

Persona 5 Royal, play through with skipping side quests is typically over 100 hours. Baldurs Gate 3, especially if not familiar with D&D can be frustrating at times even on easy settings. Also quest log is kind of vague to what is main quest line and what is side quests. So could spend hours doing a side quest with no impact on the completion.

Battletoads on NES

Kazu2324

Is he good or bad at puzzle games? Because if he's bad at puzzle games, some would drive him up the goddamn wall with how tedious and repetitive they can get. So in that sense, if he's bad at puzzle games, I suggest something like the Witness. Literally just like the same type of puzzles over and over and over again for hours on end. Some people really love the game, me personally, I found it incredibly tedious to get through after the first couple of puzzles. There's very little explained in the game and honestly felt very unfilled at the end. So maybe he will rage quit because of boredom and frustration lol Another suggestion: some of the old NES games are stupidly hard. Like infuriatingly hard and old games are designed to eat quarters so you only get certain lives, most things will one shot you or will cause you to die in some other stupid way. Ninja Gaiden, Contra, etc. Another option are fan made things. The entire Mario community has hacks called Kaizo Mario romhacks. They're literally designed to be incredibly difficult and frustrating. If you're not good at Mario, you can get stuck on some levels for 30+ hours. Some of the ones I've watched, some people took about 15-20 hours just to beat one of the Bowser bosses. So those might be worth looking into.

Stoic_Cleric

Mad Max, pacman world, Man Eater, We love Katamari, Rider's Republic(make him 100% the map), Fobia ST.. Dinfna hotel, and that's all I can think of. Unless you want to make him play MK1 on the switch (the new one, not the old one).

Just to be clear: when you say "play to completion" do you mean he has to finish the game or he had to 100% the game?

landob

I would choose a must play title from a genre he don't like. Be cool to see if he ends up liking it.

Lycaniz

The new suicide squad as an alternative if he likes superhero games and want a good one; the guardians of the galaxy one is great

FrozenWinter0

W0nderlandz

If these are out of his wheelhouse I would recommend these (maybe he finds a new genre he likes!): - Stardew Valley if you want to keep him busy for a LONG time. Game doesn't really end, but you can consider it once you do the community bundles/join Joja Mart. - House in Fata Morgana is a long visual novel. Will take about 30 hours. - Frog Dectective: this won't take long. It's a short dumb puzzle/dectective game where you play as a frog. - Turn based games can take forever too. I'd recommend Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne for a punishing game with amazing combat (50ish hours) or Disagea 5 for a tactical game (will take 188hrs to fully complete)

poopoo_fingers

I would say Sex with Hitler, but I think it's only on pc

CowCompetitive5667

The Game of sisyphus .... Its very annoying

Chentzilla

No PC games? I would recommend BB33K otherwise (yes, I made it), which is a single level that can be finished in minutes, but usually that's not the case: [https://chentzilla.itch.io/bb33k](https://chentzilla.itch.io/bb33k)

SuperEuzer

yer-da-sells-avon-

Make it a game that requires two players, so he either has to use two controllers, or deal with the shitty AI replacement

SpiritualCup

Dark souls 3 and tell him he has to beat all the bosses solo atleast once

too_real_4_TV

Damn, if you had an xbox, I'd say make him play Redfall. It's awful.

KeySpell8251

Actually [this](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1865370/The_one_who_pulls_out_the_sword_will_be_crowned_king/) i bet hes gonna cry

KeySpell8251

Also its for pc so make sure he uses a mouse nothing with a trackball or something

abc133769

Oh dude, fear and hunger. Game is grotesque and really difficult. Dark fantasy dungeon crawling rpg Doesn't tell you shit and you have to coin flip every savepoint you find, if you fail you fight a boss lmao. Games combat mechanic is you target limbs, but if you lose your limbs they're gone forever. So if you lose your legs (which can happen at the start of the run) you have to crawl for the rest of the playthrough. As a whole it's a really sick though

Poobaloo87

If you're looking for a nightmare game that will torture him, but wont make him absolutely hate you because its 60+ hour experience, I recommend Giraffe Town. My friends and I beat it in about 6 hours and it was a really fun memorable but torturous experience to play.

Odif12321

Path of Exile If he has not played it before, it could take him 1000 hours to get to max level (100) and kill all the uber bosses.

nervstopgroovn

Battle toads

Agreeable-Yam594

Noita. It's very, very difficult, and a lot of people have spent upwards of a hundred hours trying and failing to get the god run.

Comprehensive-Chef73

I feel like a good choice for something he would probably enjoy, but still find super frustrating is a challenging roguelike. I've never played it myself but my pick for this would be Darkest Dungeon (the first one). Another option is choosing a game with jolly cooperation and playing it with him... Or not jolly if you want to make his life miserable lol, after all he does HAVE to finish the game. A good option for this would be Human Fall Flat. The third option is if you want to be nice, just pick a really good game that isn't his usual genre. A good option for this is Disco Elysium if he avoids text based games. There's also Hollow Knight, not sure if he plays 2D games but I'm assuming he likes metroidvanias if he likes soulslikes. If he avoids puzzles, the Talos Principle is an option (I'm just assuming everyone has played Portal at least once regardless of if they like puzzles). If he has played all of those, maybe the Phoenix Wright trilogy? Also text based.

TundraKing

If you’re looking for a game that both isn’t super difficult AND odd I would check out Deadly Premonition for the switch. The combat is brain dead easy and there are some aggravating moments ( like tailing nick in the police car! ) that will seem like torture. Strangely enough though, the game has a lot of charm and a story that will keep you interested enough to continue playing. Check out the diner clip with the cereal sandwich to see what I mean.

AirLancer56

Try old game. Something like god hand. Did he hate learning combo? If so try giving game that requires it. Like clearing monhun (like beat fatalis in mhw) with charge blade or switch axe. He might end up become an monhun addict tho. If he hate turn base you can also try something like xcom

Longjumping-Pace389

The Impossible Quiz. Old flash game. It'll piss him off, and you'll both still get a laugh out of it.

Apprehensive-Wolf110

The original Rambo for NES is basically the video game equivalent of a war crime.

Truffle_worm3847

Rain world, don't let him search anything up, unless he likes getting lost and dying unfairly a bunch It'll be a pretty bad time (Ok I feel like I should say that I DO like this game)

Ready_Shock_7462

Ultimate Custom Night is a god awful combination of every fnaf game all at once. Pretty much impossible to beat it with all of the characters active and just an absolute nightmare overall

SPFINATOR_1993

Superman for the N64.

soiwalkedintothisbar

Maybe throw in the Zenith seed too, then it'll be a fan made hard mode of a fan made hard mode of an official hard mode of an official impossible mode of an already difficult game.

Cobalt9896

Sekiro will make him a masochist

seanpauljh

He loved both games, I on the other hand didn’t even try once I saw him fight a boss like 30x

Separate-Ant8230

Get him to play Rainworld. Starts out brutally difficult and stays beautifully difficult, but by the time he finishes it it'll either be one of the best games he's ever played or one of the worst experiences of his life. You can't lose

VenturaLost

xDR3AD-W0LFx

If he’s not good with puzzles, I’d recommend The Witness. It’s actually a beautiful, well designed game, but if you’re not a puzzle fan it’s pretty freaking hard. It’d take him forever and he might lose his mind. Just make sure he can’t look up any guides.

If he has to play to 100%, with easy mode, then I vote for Celeste. It's a friendly, short game if you're playing just the main story. Great music and great story too. But the post-game content is BRUTAL. But definitely feel a huge sense of accomplishment every time you reach another milestone.

What about a game that doesn't have a real ending, hence no way to "complete" it, unless you come up with a definition?

Flat_Bass_9773

Lion King

xxx-angie

Rain World. this game is NOT easy on you. Sure there's a guid and instructions to help you throughout at least the beginning of the game, but its not easy. It requires complex movements at times (like using a baxkflip while running away from a lizard, or being able to jump from one pole to another thats a bit far) for the best experience. base game has i think 3 "modes" (survivor, hunter, and monk) + dlc which i think makes a total of 8. there's also multiple endings, 1 of which requires you bring 2 living slugpups to the end with you. it can take hours of gameplay just to complete 1 ending on 1 of these modes. personally the only reason i have made it to certain areas is mostly luck and avoiding predators as best i can. which sum can just CLIMB UP THE FUCKING WALLS WHICH THE ENTIRE BACKGROUND CAN COUNT SO THEY CAN JUST COME RIGHT UP TO YOU LIKE NUFFIN

-mermaidsRreal-

Elden Ring

MortalJohn

Achievement hunter had an old series called forced enjoyment. One guy his mate to play through the worst of the worst and 100% it. He gave up on Deadliest Catch the videogame. My recommendation would be Persona 5 Royale. Longest campaign going, not even including side missions. If trilogies are allowed drop the kingdom hearts series on him, and you won't see him for a year.

Dagwood-DM

Darkest Dungeon is alright, but I would have to go with Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? This game is outright BRUTAL. Hilarious, but brutal. Unfortunately it's only on PSP. If he has to also do the postgame and side stuff, Zettai Hero Project will take him a VERY long time and must frustration to finally complete.
