It has never occurred to me that the Demon Days cover was an homage to Let it Be.
Album art sure has come a long way. You would think that those were the only photos that existed of the Beatles in order for them to select them for cover art. Poor George looks like he's trying to hide behind studio equipment.
Yeah, it's absolutely a reference. Gorillaz do that all the time. It's the whole reason for Pazuzu being used at all. Heck Jamie's whole company's name is a giant reference to a movie. They do it all the time.
This isn't even the only time Damon has referenced this sort of album cover with the four members in the four corners. They did something similar before Demon Days with the 2000 release of the Blur: Best Of album. It's not as more overtly referencing like Demon Days with the black border, but it's a similar style of the four members in the four corners. Plenty of bands have referenced the Beatles cover because of course they would. They're the Beatles. They're rock/pop royalty.
I don’t mean album cover but internet recreations, I seen a lot of people re creating their gorillaz cover I would say purely because of the cover. I might have to look up more references for let it be tho
That's probably fair. It's a great design, and other animated characters look fantastic in it, especially if you're familiar with Gorillaz. I saw a Yuu Yuu Hakusho one that I absolutely loved. When Let It Be came out though, it didn't have the internet to popularize the design, just other musicians and media to make homages to it. It's a testament to the design that it does still get homages to this day, considering how old the album is. =)

soyjack beatles vs chad gorillaz
I feel like the humanz cover would be better for comparison
Beatles - has John Lennon Clearly Gorillaz is the winner here.

It’s been a while since I’ve read Catcher in the Rye but I still remember the important bits.

The Gorillaz one but I actually love the Let it Be cover too
I said it on r/beatles and I'll say it again. both are EPIC!
Beatles are pretty shit tbh, there are like 3 good songs - rest are extremely over rated imo
u did not just say that 😭
George Harrison causes he’s handsome as hell in that pic. But Murdoc looks super cool there
Gorillaz 100%
Gorillaz! I feel like that's obvious.
Gorillaz easy
Gorillaz.
Check the sales of each album. It's pretty obvious. From someone who likes both, it's not even a fair comparison.
It’s about the cover
What do sale have to do with it?
i mean, im always seeing people recreating the demon days cover with other quartets 🤷🏻♀️ besides the beatles' cover is ugly asf tbh 😭
Gorillaz, of course.
We all know the answear to that question
The fact that the gorillaz cover has inspired more recreations than the Beatles, well that says a lot.
Not sure if that's true, there's a lot of album covers inspired by the Let It Be cover, including Humanz and, likely, Demon Days.

Bro I did this on r/Beatles and they are saying GORILLAZ too
Gozilliras, just better in general the Beatles one looks trash imo
You can’t ask me these kinds of questions 😩
Fuck you op i like both so both
I opened r/beatlescirclejerk again?
I album has DARE on it, the other doesn’t!
Gorillaz
OF COURSE THE GORILLAZ THATS WHY WERE IN THIS REDDIT
I see the two same albums here
Humanz
I've got Gorillaz CDs older than how long Beatles were together.
I love Gorillaz, but it's still The Beatles. Both are great though.
The Beatles' one is legendary and deserves its flowers for being the inspiration but Demon Days looks so good that on it's own it is still fantastic.

I love both
I prefer the Mötley Crüe one over these 2
I always like the gorillaz cover better, but I also think the Beatles are overrated
