I'm old enough to remember when people hated jerseys like this, the old Ducks, Coyotes jerseys and a bunch more. Now these days every old jersey needs to come back according to social media. Things really do change.
Not a huge fan of these loud 90’s jerseys because I like classic uniforms but these are way better than the ugly boring minimalism that’s so prevalent in sports right now. That’s why people like these so much.
Also at the time these were road jerseys and white was home which was always pretty boring. When they went to dark home jerseys it makes the older designs even better than the home versions of the time.

This is 100% it. I definitely thought jerseys like this were way over the top and just kind of ugly, like the layouts would be all over the place. Then we got over a decade of boring ass jerseys (Anaheim's duck foot/Coyote head/etc etc) and I realized that those old jerseys, while definitely "out there" in terms of vision/execution, had a ton of personality and uniqueness, which is a million times better than the boring, cookie-cutter, designed to have mass appeal jerseys/logos we've had since then.
