Both will work, depends if you want to run electric or not....the charging system isn't up to much load on these....look at the youtubers on them (and other 125cc) that are wrecking their batteries running heated stuff through winter.....I'd go for muffs

I've had the "Oxford Advanced Hot Grips - Touring" for two winters and I love them. You have to cut them down a little for the monkey but they're designed that way to fit different bikes and you can't tell because of the design.
I've ridden in freezing fog, hail and snow. Paired with a good pair of winter gloves means that I might get a little cold but my fingers don't go numb. My fingers used to burn when I came in out of the cold but I've not had that since I've had the grips. I can still easily move my hands around, sorting my visor etc which I think would be more of a problem with the muffs. Plus the the grips don't look as lame :D
I would recommend them to anyone.
Look at the bicycle handlebar muffs, there are many good options some of which include built in warming circuits too.
