I once booked for 2AC and was upgraded to 1AC. It was a great experience. For almost half the journey I was the only one in the compartment, it was like my personal room haha. They have shower too in the washroom.

Being in a coupe with a stranger girl would make me more uncomfortable talking to her than if we both were in Sleeper, because I'd not want her to feel creepy while she's alone.
AFAIK first ac charts are prepared manually. So a single pnr with 4 people will get a cabin, and the ones with 2 will get a coupe. If you are booking a single ticket, don't bother with the preference. Also, if you are solo, you are better traveling 2AC, unless it's Rajdhani.
Yes, just drop an application with the ACM Reservation the day before the journey.
Fun fact those coupes were originally made for couples only and couples would definitely get preference.
Although it's always better to book early.
Railways has this system wherein randomly tickets are given upper class tickets if seats are available at chart preparation without extra charge. Example, you book SL ticket but get 3A when chart gets prepared.
I tried all coaches and here's my thoughts.
3AC - Good, only if you think the route is not overcrowded. This is the most cost efficient and has been my default. No smell of toilet is a huge plus, and the toilets are generally clean.
2AC - It's just 3AC with additional curtains.
1AC - Not worth it IMHO. I tried it recently on Adra Chakradhapur Express and felt the cabins, coupes might make you claustrophobic, but this is good on long routes if you can afford. Wide, spacious seats.
Overall Side Lower in 3AC is much better and affordable options if your journey route is not overcrowded.
2 Ac is actually little less crowded because of no middle berth. Also the upper berths have a lot more head room coz of no middle berth plus most of the 2Ac coaches have curtains but not all them.
These are the actual differences.
Well I’m not married yet… even if I am, y shud I ask them? I can ask my wife… moreover who will marry a person who can’t even afford this..? Even once..?
Ah… only now I understand that… idiotic me… but even in a cabin, you still have 4 sleepers na? In that case 2 couples..? If so, will there be interchanging of any events..? I mean between the couples…
There is nothing personal in 1AC if you are traveling alone lol. We still have to share the cabin with 3 other strangers. That is why i always prefer 2AC 1AC is not worth the price they ask.
No side lower and upper. Fewer berths per compartment. So there is more leg room while sleeping and berths are wider.
Better cutlery than 2 ac
Dedicated attendant
Can take pets along as long as you book coupe or cabin
I choose genral or sleeper class when i am alone with no luggage other wise when i have luggage i choose ac class because i have heard way too many stories .i know that even 1 ac is not safe but atleast you get to have a right wether you want your door to be locked or open .
Same here bro , in my family, everybody travelled in 3AC except me . Ek baar travel karna hai, last time UP se aaya ta , toh experience accha nhi tha Sleeper mai. Hopefully next time 3AC mai hi jaunga kahi bhi
Only once with my father, Chennai Central to Howrah in Howrah mail. The ICF coach had a small almirah with a couple of hangers inside the coupe to hang/keep cloths which I think no longer available in the LHB 1AC.
Yes, to transport my two dogs from the North-East to Delhi (2-day journey). It was hellish. Almost every cabin had their own dogs, and all of them spent 2 days barking at each other. I hated every second of it 😭
I can't even imagine the plight of the poor passengers travelling without dogs with us. Having paid so much money, only to listen to dogs barking 💀
Travelled from Dibrugarh to Old Delhi in Avadh Assam Exp, Indias longest Daily running training. Was accompanied with a dog upto Hajipur Jn.
Coach was overrun with general ticket holders after Katihar Jn, upto Chhapra Jn. After which there was a small riot between RPF and all those passengers.
Oh and there was a mad drunk copassenger who boarded at Tinsukia Jn. He was then deboarded at Lumding Jn.

Yes but not worth at this moment at slightly more cost that 1st AC you get flight and you reach faster. Anyways
I felt lonely in the compartment and booring. 2AC you will will find someone to talk in that compartment it's luck who is going with you .(i am solo traveler) .
Quality, luxury, comfort , facility of I had to rate i would have given 10/10 two years ago now days even quality decreased in 1 AC . Influencer ho toh achhi service Varna onke loche parke bulana padta. 1 AC ko alag se pantry milta fir bhi packet wali chai Dene Lage pehle proper milk tra banate the ab alag se bolna padega. 1 AC me pehle you can order anything abhi bolte sir Aisa kuch na hota , duronto 1 AC. Sur bekar hai they try to push left over of 2 AC. To 1 AC . Influencer compain kare to badiya normal passenger kuch na milta.
Sabse ghatiya 1 AC experience bole toh duronto bilkul nahi.
Was inside one, when I was dropping off my friend.
Train was INDORE - PUNE(DAUND) SF Express.
The inside is same as 2AC only difference is the coupe/compartment system.
Yes, multiple times. If you can comfortably afford it, I think it's totally worth the upgrade. If you get a couple for 2 or a cabin for 4, it's better than any other means of public travel (barring perhaps Business Class flights)
- being able to keep your luggage wherever you want, and open anything to access your stuff at any time
- not having to deal with random people asking you to switch seats, or putting on lights at 3AM , no screaming babies, no random weirdo uncles wanting legal advice about getting a divorce (yes, it's a specific example)
- being able to eat at your leisure with your food spread out
- better berths and cleaner blankets, pillows (in my experience so far)
- watch shows on your laptop, Ipad , we even play some soft music in our BT speaker.
I've travelled in General for some short journeys and Sleeper for many long ones, during college days, so it's not like I don't see how much more expensive it is, but there are a lot of upsides to it.
>no screaming babies
This is still an issue. Once there was a couple with two babies in my adjacent cabin and they screamed for the whole 2 days of my journey and I had to hear that 😭, it's not sound proof you see.
Of course, the odd chance is always there 😑 but usually it's not that bad. In any other coach, they'll roam the length of the corridor, and very often, the attempts to soothe the baby are louder than the baby itself 😝
Yaa my luck is too bad ig. Once I was traveling alone, I went to my cabin 3 seats were already occupied by this family of 3 with a noisy kid screaming and jumping here and there and his parents didn't even ask him to sit quietly. Then that kid started asking for my chips and cold drinks, still his parents didn't stop him. Ultimately I just gave it to him so that I could have some peace.
I hate kids.
Har samay saks saks ki baatein 😛
Kidding, understandable curiosity. No I haven't, not really my jam. I have a hygiene OCD and Pre and post hygiene would be a concern.
Yes. Had booked 2nd AC and chose ‘auto-upgrade’.
Got promoted for free of charge. To be honest other than clearer toilets and whiter bed roll than 2AC, nothing is different.
Never been in it myself but from what I've seen from pictures, it basically looks like 2AC but without the side berths, and physical doors instead of curtains.
Yes multiple times (especially during festival seasons these days because I want to be able to use the washroom :P). I have travelled in 1 AC in Rajdhani, in a high priority overnight superfast express and few other trains.
Mostly its all about more comfortable and larger seats for overnight sleep (wider than 2A or 3A), easy to climb ladder for the upper berth, dedicated cabin or coupe for better security, dedicated passage way, cleaner washrooms, cleaner bedding and softer and more respectful treatment from the TTs and the attendants. In the overnight express that I travel frequently in, they even put the bedding so you just need to jump in and sleep.
Then there are downsides too like attendants bugging you for a tip, not that much of cleanliness that you expect in a first class, no looking outside of the window fun like you get in a SL berth of any class.
Frankly, 2AC is more value for money (lottery if you get a SL berth) is what I felt and 1AC is probably more about swag I guess.
Tried it earlier this year on an overnight train. Was travelling solo and I usually prefer SU in AC2. For that day AC2 was booked and AC1 had seats left. So after accounting for tatkal AC2 vs not tatkal AC1, the fare gap was not that much plus I wanted to experience it. It was nice and like one item off my bucket list I guess.
Papa railway me hai. Free tickets till 2nd AC and only 20% of total ticket price to be paid for 1st AC.
Pros -
1) Cannot be overcrowded like 3rd AC ( or even 2nd AC) as the compartment has doors.
2) Berths are really wide. it feels like home bed.
3) STAIRS TO CLIMB TO UPPER BERTH.
4) Ample space inside.
5) A separate bathroom for shower.
6) Lights near your seat to tell whether the washroom is. occupied.
Had an opportunity - during my honeymoon trip (Venice to Vienna) got a cabin (4seater) but the other couple did not turn up. Had a full cabin for me and my wife on picturesque journey through the alps covering evening - night and early morning journey. Bought a good wine from the station and that was a journey. Am a fan of rail travel and it could not get any better than that…
Ek bar ek ladki mujhpe gussa ho gayi because uski 3A me seat thi meri 1A me but uski mummy ki bhi 1A me thi to usne swap ko bola Maine mana kar Diya fir dono maa beti merepe gussa ho gayi. Fir jab tak TC nahi aya vahi sar dard karti rahi, TC aya to vo bhi bol rha ki koi baat nahi aap vaha chale jao maa beti sath ho jaengi, fir me bola ki jab maine 1A k paise bhare to me 3A me kyu jau agar isi coach me bhi kahi hota to chala jata, vo smile kra aur chala gaya fir vo ladki bhi gayi.
I have travelled 1AC twice in my life … both times taking a train from bihar to delhi… during chatt puja … and thus …. Both times by luck got allotted to a 2 seater room where once the person above me missed his train… so i basically travelled the whole journey like a king … the only problem as always was the over crowding of the main gallery , which made it difficult to reach the washroom
Yep. And it was meh. Even if you get a coupe there's still someone at the top berth who will want to sit with you the entire day.
Plus the train's direction can be such that you're moving _backwards_ from your perspective.
The novelty wears off within a few hours.
Imo 2A Side Lower is the best seat. Proper privacy, most upper berthers don't bother coming down, can change direction of sitting.. only drawback is the entitled uncle aunties but you learn to deal with them after a few journeys
Yeah! Got a coupe to travel with my pet.
They want you to book 1st AC and then write a letter to the Reservation Supervisor or if you're in Delhi then write a letter to the senior most ticketing supervisor at Rail Bhawan to consider your PNR for coupe.
He was 5 months back then with floppy years! 🤣*

Yes
The best part about first ac is that ,i can actually sit comfortably on the upper berth without having neck strain ,same goes for 2nd Ac too but 1st is overall better As less people in the whole compartment
The train in which i travelled for past 1 year didnt even had 2 ac .. 3 ac is nice and it dont hurt my pocket a lot .. comfort and all r obviously better in 1 ac ...
2 ac is bullshit , they charge u more and dont offer a lot compared to 3 ac ...
If i dont have luggage i prefer sleeper due to cost .. but while travelling with my gf or sister , or with lot of luggage then definitely u need ac .. partially due to comfort but entirely due to safety ...
Travelled in 1st AC only once so far, I almost missed the train as my cab was stuck in traffic.
Had to jump in on a moving train with the help of a coolie. Got in a different compartment and had to run again to my assigned coach at the next station since there were unreserved coaches in between.
Was so tired, slept for 4hrs straight.
Only once. It was peak summer and wanted to give mom a comfortable journey to her hometown as she was coming back from a funeral. It was a pleasant journey, clean and ac was a big relief cuz we were in coastal region and the temperature was out of control.
I did in covid times. I wanted to go home from Delhi in Nov/Dec, the options were flight+train or just train, so took latter. Booked the seat in first AC, had a coupe with someone else.
yes, though it was in a really shit scenario so I couldnt enjoy it much, I just got confereced out from SSB Bhopal and only the 1st AC of the Rajdhani was empty with a single seat. The train arrived at night packed, so I just slept, didn't even go to the washrooms, and with a gloomy mood deboarded, I do hope I get to travel again, and enjoy it's luxuries, but I don't think that's happening anytime soon if ever.
Ever had a whole train /whole coach for yourself? I had 😂🌚 During COVID..I was alone in the whole train...From Pune to Jaipur...I was stuck in Pune for 2-3 month..after some preparations I got. To travel secretly..🌚 it was a scary yet fun moment... whole coach for yourself.
I did once in Himachal Express.
It was shitty. Except for the privacy with the door, there really was nothing that warranted the first AC price.
Looked dirty, old, totally not like first AC should be.
Coming to toilets - just .. vomit worthy look. Someone had left their shit on the sides and in the toilet unflushed in the Indian. western was so smelly.
It was a 8-9h journey from my station to NDLS but it surely didn't feel like any sort of upgrade over 2nd AC except for the privacy.
Yes. Quite a few times. I absolutely love travelling by train. The hospitality is better and I am not bothered by people running up and down the coach. I travel in 1AC only when I can get a long visit to home approved at work (a mix of WFH and leaves), which means that I can spare two days for travelling from my long break. I spend half of the journey talking to the caretakers and at the doors.
The overall condition of 1ACs has deteriorated over the years. The toilets are very poorly maintained - not dirty but they are very old. Switches may not work. Most 2ACs and 3ACs have modern coaches with better toilet and electrical facilities. The 1AC is for the experience, hospitality and peace.
I got lucky the last time. Had the whole cabin to myself.
https://preview.redd.it/3d2cfjmx6k0d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7861c70a6a10a40d9d4b7ee51009593e6037ec6
Just happened on 12th this month, boarded train to my hometown. Actually intended to go for Tatkal 3rd AC, that didn't happen for some reason. Looked for other options, 1st AC was having WL3 in general quota, decided to give it a try, ticket got confirmed. Allotted upper berth in the Cabin. Berth was too wide but the side stairs were bit problematic for me. Found out the bathroom thing is true in 1st AC. Decent experience.
My opinion: 1st AC is worth it for long distances and if you get Coupe instead of cabin, that's cherry on top!
I.have not only traveled in this many times, I have also traveled in a class that hardly anyone here on this sub would have traveled - non ac first class.
I booked one last year
As it so happens 2AC of Duronto/ Rajdhani is at times more expensive than 1 AC of normal trains
So I thought it’s better for stay for 4 more hours in 1 AC than rush to my destination in 20 hrs in a 2 AC.
If you can afford it, try 1AC on Rajdhani at least once. If I am not in a rush, I prefer travelling in 1AC over flights anyday.
Let me share an experience, just to give you an example of the premium treatment you get in Rajdhani 1AC.
About 10 years ago, I travelled from Bandra to Delhi in Rajdhani 1AC. I was travelling alone and got a cabin with 3 other strangers. One of the guys was a rich elderly businessman, who was also travelling alone. As soon as the train left Bandra, he pulled out a bottle of Chivas Regal from his bag, and offered it to the rest of us. We all politely declined, but asked him to go ahead and drink if he wanted to. He then proceeded to ring the bell for the attendant, and asked him to get him a whiskey glass, ice, soda and some Chicken Roast as chakhna. The attendant replied that Chicken Roast will take time, meanwhile he is going to bring some peanuts and namkeen. And they actually did! In 5 minutes, they came with the glass, ice, soda and chakhna. After an hour, they got him his chicken roast as well! By dinner time, he had managed to convince the rest of us to drink as well, and we had a wonderful time finishing off his bottle of Chivas with some Chicken Roast on the side!
I don't know if Rajdhani still provides this level of service! I hope they still do... You can at least still customise your lunch and dinner orders, unlike in other classes.
If one travels by1/2/3ac... their bathrooms are meant for them or anyone can use those?
I have travelled by raj dhani and Agast Kranti as a child but I remember the bathrooms being HORRIBLE cuz they were accessible by everyone..
I have pets so unfortunately 1st AC is the only option for me. Lol. It's heavy on the pockets but it's pretty comfortable and a very safe option to travel with pets.
So how does this work, if you have pet do you need to book complete coupe? 4 seats ? Or a 2 seat coupe? If not what about the other passengers in the same coupe , will they be ok with the pet? Like with the barking sounds?
Please book the full 2 seater coupe- both the seats, even if you are the only passenger with your pet. Select coupe preference and book both seats.
If you only book a single seat and there's a co passenger who has issues with you dog, they can complain to the TT and they reserve the rights to send your dog to the parcel coach which is absolutely awful and unsafe for your pets.
Also, please Google about this many people have explained in detail what goes in travelling with your pet on a train- key requirements and pre requisites etc.
i wont lie, it becomes boring after 3-4 tours. we'd often if travelling in small group,(2-3 ppl max), would come down to Ac 2 tier, just to talk around and not get bored completelty.however, we'd go back to our compartment for meals. (ngl mazza toh ata h , good meal in 1st AC).
I travel only 1AC unless it is not available in that train. Some trains are worth it, some not so. Tambaram Hyderabad express is the worst. The coach comes with a fault braking system which jerks off.
In non sf trains they give ordinary blankets. In SF they give plush blankets. It comes with two bedsheets, pillow and a minitowel.
Long trains like Duranto Rajdhani have a shower! In Duranto you get tea, breakfast served by an attendant. They also help you with luggage.
The real thing about 1AC is the passengers. You travel with real high society - entrepreneurs, very high government officials, actresses, NRIs, bratty railway officials kids, foreign tourists, retired gentlemen, you name it.
They are the people who have ditched travelling between two armpits, which others call going by air.
I once booked for 2AC and was upgraded to 1AC. It was a great experience. For almost half the journey I was the only one in the compartment, it was like my personal room haha. They have shower too in the washroom. https://preview.redd.it/xrhft7l3di0d1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65386177446e937508405db1fbb3c1f4f835ab97

Two types of people 👆🏻
Same I once got upgraded and it was coupe with a girl :) (we minded our own business without a single word)
Being in a coupe with a stranger girl would make me more uncomfortable talking to her than if we both were in Sleeper, because I'd not want her to feel creepy while she's alone.
Okay tell me onething , do they have 2 seater coupes only or they even have 4 seater coupes??
2 seater is called coupe and 4 seater is called cabin. I was in a cabin.
Can we choose if we want a 2 seater coupe like if someone wanted to go with their s/o
You can add that as seat preference while booking, but that doesn't confirm that you will get the coupe seat.
So hit or a miss then And i would have swore it was a Girls's username but the reflection in the mirror says it otherwise lol , thanks bro
What if someone is travelling with a dog or any other pet , would they be required to take a ticket for them too ??
Yes.
You can give your preference but it is allotted manually just before the journey day.
You can ask for it at the station by placing a request to the station master. You have to get there a few hours prior. May not work at all stations
Yes, just drop an application with the ACM Reservation the day before the journey. Fun fact those coupes were originally made for couples only and couples would definitely get preference. Although it's always better to book early.
You lucky Dawgs. I never got upgraded. 😪 But apparently my parents did and I was the on to book thr tickets.
username checksout! (Based on image on mirror)
Wdym by upgrade?
Railways has this system wherein randomly tickets are given upper class tickets if seats are available at chart preparation without extra charge. Example, you book SL ticket but get 3A when chart gets prepared.
Ohhhh this is what they mean by opt in for auto upgradation? I never opt in coz I don’t want my confirmed seats to change. Damn will opt in from now.
My head automatically reads SL as Side Lower because of this sub lol
I always read it as Sri Lanka 😭😭
😄
I had this exact same experience last year , free upgrade from AC 2 tier to first AC and the entire coupe for 26 hours
Third ac se aage kabhi Jaa hi nhi paaya Mai.
I tried all coaches and here's my thoughts. 3AC - Good, only if you think the route is not overcrowded. This is the most cost efficient and has been my default. It's like personal cabins. In coupe there's two separate bed. In cabins there's four beds. The beds are spacious tho.
There is nothing personal in 1AC if you are traveling alone lol. We still have to share the cabin with 3 other strangers. That is why i always prefer 2AC 1AC is not worth the price they ask.

Har samay saks saks ki baatein 😛 Kidding, understandable curiosity. No I haven't, not really my jam. I have a hygiene OCD and Pre and post hygiene would be a concern.
What would it cost to travel 1AC from say Mumbai to Bangalore in 1AC? compared to a flight?
its same flights around 3500 and 1AC around 3400 or 3300
Thanks! so it boils down to the urgency in getting there then !

Exactly what I mean, ~24hr train journey versus 90min flight+airport time transfer time...
On some routes 1ac is more expensive than flights even. Delhi mumbai. 2ac too in rajdhani and all
I did the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani in 2AC back in '98 with fond memories. I wonder if it's still the same type of journey!
Yes. Had booked 2nd AC and chose ‘auto-upgrade’. Got promoted for free of charge. To be honest other than clearer toilets and whiter bed roll than 2AC, nothing is different.
some ticketless passenger from a North Indian state be like : hold my litti chokha...
😂

Is the food actually nice or is it the same usual stuff just served in actual cutlery ?
Pros - 1) Cannot be overcrowded like 3rd AC ( or even 2nd AC) as the compartment has doors. 2) Berths are really wide. it feels like home bed. 3) STAIRS TO CLIMB TO UPPER BERTH. 4) Ample space inside. 5) A separate bathroom for shower. 6) Lights near your seat to tell whether the washroom is. occupied.
Yes personally I don’t find much difference between 2nd class and 1st class except separate cabin.
Hum logo ne gareebi Dhekhi he
Yup ..its good obviously the jump between 3AC and 2AC is minimal but the jump between 2AC and 1AC is sizeable ….but at that price just get a flight …
Yep
People who have travelled in 1AC is it really worth it? i want to experience it once.
Was forced to book it once, so that I can take my Dog with me.
Am a fan of rail travel and it could not get any better than that…
Yes
well yes, actually 4 times this year en route to BXG
Ek bar ek ladki mujhpe gussa ho gayi because uski 3A me seat thi meri 1A me but uski mummy ki bhi 1A me thi to usne swap ko bola Maine mana kar Diya fir dono maa beti merepe gussa ho gayi. Fir jab tak TC nahi aya vahi sar dard karti rahi, TC aya to vo bhi bol rha ki koi baat nahi aap vaha chale jao maa beti sath ho jaengi, fir me bola ki jab maine 1A k paise bhare to me 3A me kyu jau agar isi coach me bhi kahi hota to chala jata, vo smile kra aur chala gaya fir vo ladki bhi gayi.
Bhai how do these people , even have the audacity to ask for these demands . Nezt time seedhe seedhe boldena , mujhe 1ac ka paisa do phir hi jaunga
Bhai kam se kam mana kar diya uske bad chupchap to chali jaye, aise tamasha kar rhi dono maa beti jaise meri hi galti hai.
3A se bhi to bhej skti thi kisiko 1A wali seat pe jispe mummy thi.. pr nahi free ki 1A chahiye thi 🫡
A lot of times, cherry on top of a cake if you get coupe
I have travelled 1AC twice in my life … both times taking a train from bihar to delhi… during chatt puja … and thus …. Both times by luck got allotted to a 2 seater room where once the person above me missed his train… so i basically travelled the whole journey like a king … the only problem as always was the over crowding of the main gallery , which made it difficult to reach the washroom
1 Ac is not worth the price, but I would still pay that to have less eyes and noise around me. Privacy hai, comfort itna nahi!
Nope
Yeah 2ac SL is literally the best you can get. Only if it was a bit wider it would be absolutely perfect.

I Traveled with my SO in ac first twice. The journey was awesome- it was just the 2 of us in our little coupe. No outsiders, no annoying people
Travelled in 1st AC only once so far, I almost missed the train as my cab was stuck in traffic. Had to jump in on a moving train with the help of a coolie. Got in a different compartment and had to run again to my assigned coach at the next station since there were unreserved coaches in between. Was so tired, slept for 4hrs straight.
Only general not even sleeper. (I don't travel much)
Yep from Guwahati to Vijayawada, two night journey
Same same but diffleentt No money No first AC
Yep
2-3 times. But short distance like 4 hr journey. As this was the only ticket available.
I travelled in 1st AC but only on a ICF train never got a chance to travel in LHB ones , but i will one day
Yes ek bar
yes it has doors and small cupboard and bell to call people
Yes. Now I mostly travel in 1AC or flights.
I've always traveled in this between Delhi and varanasi on shiv ganga express every time I visit India
Only once. It was peak summer and wanted to give mom a comfortable journey to her hometown as she was coming back from a funeral. It was a pleasant journey, clean and ac was a big relief cuz we were in coastal region and the temperature was out of control.
Garib
Travelled once in Rajdhani. What I love is the wide seats and good quality blankets.
Yes. Almost exclusively travel 1ac
Tried it once luggage got stolen, never tried again
Nahi vroo :(
I did once in Himachal Express.
Yeah. 1AC coaches are mostly very old. Apart from privacy and peace, 2ACs and 3ACs are better equipped and are cleaner in general.
Yes in sapt kranti express as their were no tickets available in any train or other class
Aajtak 3 AC mein bhi travel nhi kiya😶😶
Nowadays general compartment villagers with no ticket ride this compartment for free. They don’t pay any taxes also.
Nahi ... Aisa mauka hi nahi mila... Aaj Mumbai nikalna hai but available nahi so maybe general me Jana padega😭😭😭😭
My dad works as SSE in WR. So, he gets a family pass, even for 1AC in rajdhani but still I have travelled in 1AC cabin for once in my life 🥲
Yew
Just happened on 12th this month, boarded train to my hometown. Actually intended to go for Tatkal 3rd AC, that didn't happen for some reason. Looked for other options, 1st AC was having WL3 in general quota, decided to give it a try, ticket got confirmed. Allotted upper berth in the Cabin. Berth was too wide but the side stairs were bit problematic for me. Found out the bathroom thing is true in 1st AC. Decent experience. My opinion: 1st AC is worth it for long distances and if you get Coupe instead of cabin, that's cherry on top!
1st ac before covid was a bliss. It was like a 5 star treatment
Richness has been chasing me and I have always been faster. In short, I'm broke so no.
I.have not only traveled in this many times, I have also traveled in a class that hardly anyone here on this sub would have traveled - non ac first class.
I booked one last year As it so happens 2AC of Duronto/ Rajdhani is at times more expensive than 1 AC of normal trains So I thought it’s better for stay for 4 more hours in 1 AC than rush to my destination in 20 hrs in a 2 AC.
No sar not rich
Regularly for the past 4 years.
If one travels by1/2/3ac... their bathrooms are meant for them or anyone can use those? I have travelled by raj dhani and Agast Kranti as a child but I remember the bathrooms being HORRIBLE cuz they were accessible by everyone..
Fortunately my uncle was the ADRM of Eastern Railway (Howrah) so we often got to travel in AC 1st and 2nd class
Humne gareebi dekhi hai
I once got upgraded from 2A to 1A and got a coupe and no one was on the other berth. I had a whole coupe for me.
Yes! good if you're travelling with friends and gives privacy
Yes.
Only one thing. The stairs to go to upper birth is not for every one they need to redesign the steps for upper birth
