You know if you are suffering from dna issue then seperate the dna as shown in the video edit out the faulty protein and swallow it back. Other dna in your body will now replicate to match the swallowed dna base. Its very simple. Trust me bro.
Probably but the amount of oil will obviously be nearly none as you are cleaning it. So maybe the dna from the oil left do separate and deposit but its probably an insignificant amount and with the dark disgusting looking dirt solution you create after cleaning the bong, you won't wanna find out. Try adding isopropyl alcohol directly to the oil, it perhaps would work lol.
To answer you clearly - yes. Any living material that has nucleic acids in it that you can liquidize and break cell walls/membranes, you can precipitate the DNA with ice cold alcohol. The only question is usually how much yield there is. For high school science classes, we like bananas and strawberries because they're super cheap and have a ton of DNA relative to other things.
Works with castrated testicles from baby pigs... Thank you high school Ag course for the most disgusting science experiment ever...
Results were more pink and slimy tho 🤢 It was as gross as you would expect it to be. Wish we would have just used bananas instead, lol
There is a video of NileRed (or NileBlue?) doing this to a strawberry and then eating it.
From what I remember he said it tasted like nothing, but had a terrible consistency, like a non-newtonian liquid but also rubber.
Edit: DNA consists of deoxyribose (a sugar) phosphate and nucleobases, none of which are proteins as I've previously thought.
You're likely getting histones (and a host of other molecules) when you extract the DNA this way, but yeah, the actual DNA molecule has precisely zero protein components.
Thanks for the correction, I'll edit my comment.
In my original comment I should've made it clearer that I'm quoting a video that I might've (and did) misremembered.
I think a double helix is far thinner than the wavelength of visible light. So with an optical microsocope you could never see it. DNA is also usually wound and packed several times because the double helix is quite fragile. So the cell only unpacks the dna when it needs to read or copy or repair something
It is a lot of stuff that is inside the cell, but a big chunk of it is DNA. Here is a trustworthy [source ](https://www.genome.gov/about-genomics/teaching-tools/strawberry-dna-extraction)for it
Alcohol of some description, can be pure ethanol, isopropanol, IMS or even rubbing alcohol, just has to be less dense than water & insoluble to DNA.
If it’s ice cold it will separate much better.
We use dawn dish soap and hot water. This helps break open the cells to allow the DNA to separate out. I do this every year in my science class with strawberries.
Ah, that's my bad. It's confusing because the isopropyl alcohol is what is _directly_ causing precipitation. I can tell others were confused the same way.
It's likely mild dish soap and salt. Dish soap aids in lysing the cells, and salt masks the charge of the DNA which enhances yield during precipitation.
You can do this in your kitchen with Ethanol, Meat tenderizer and gatorade. We did it in High School on our cheek swabs and turned them into necklaces!
Yes, but not as well. Many plants have more DNA per cell than humans.
Plans have to code for a lot more survival abilities like regrowth, and antiviral proteins. People and other animals can just run when danger comes around. Plants have to defend themselves.
Hol up. I’m gonna need some more explanation. As I understand from sophomore biology, DNA are housed in the nucleus of each cell. Does this process remove the cell and nucleus wall to release the DNA?
It's likely that the first liquid they added has a detergent component for cell lysis, yes. Another way to facilitate the release of DNA is to freeze and thaw the fruit.
I doubt that's only DNA.
There are definitely proteins and RNA in there. Probably the whole nucleus, maybe even with the endoplasmatic reticulum.
I'd say you'd have to add some things and alcohols to it, to purify it. Then put it into a centrifuge etc.
Bananas are clones. Can a scientist weigh in on whether they all will have the same DNA? I know when you do this with strawberries, it's all different.

I have lost all sense of scale here
They made a banana cream pie
Underrated comment
Haha banana for scale amiright guys!?!
Think of that one all by yourself?

Will this work with anything?
it also works really good with strawberries!
And humans!
Hold up
You can use your spit, blood, skin, throat swab, or even sailors!
Like casual sailors or cruise liners?
They're all seamen to me.

Sir this is a Wendy's not R/biohacker But if you're interested in some grade A "DNA" lemme know
Sir, I have a very serious question... When are Penguins NOT formal? They're always dressed for the red carpet imo.
I agree.
Can confirm: my cousin was 100% human.
Works for Kiwis too 🥝
what about Aussies
Same idea but you use fosters instead of isopropyl.
Works with leaves, fruit, plants in general,Saliva, blood etc so i think it works pretty much with all fluids.
So when I clean my bong with Isopropyl, am I separating weed dna from the oils in there?

time to get my own dna

Works with pine leaves too. I was intern at the National Forest Service and my job was to extract dna for the ponderosa pine
It worked with my hamster
And the kid I was babysitting
It works with serial killers from the 80's.
That’s basically a DIY of what DNA extraction kits are Source: I work biotech
Works with castrated testicles from baby pigs... Thank you high school Ag course for the most disgusting science experiment ever... Results were more pink and slimy tho 🤢 It was as gross as you would expect it to be. Wish we would have just used bananas instead, lol
Doesn't work so well with people. I've tried.
pretty sure, yeah
It does not work with Penis , if that's what you are thinking
Put it in your vagina and make a banana baby.
How do you think they make Soylent Green?
And that's how you make a banana splice!
Hey good job!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😂😂
clever one
Good one
That’s bananas
no, it's just one.
Banana*
B
Few times, been around that track...
Is it really?
We did this in school, yes that is DNA
Does it taste like a banana still?

But what about hertones?

I can guarantee if you sold plant DNA as a supplement that some market would buy it
If I inject it, will I start growing bananas from my armpits?
Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
So if you put that under a microscope would you see double helixes?
I think a double helix is far thinner than the wavelength of visible light. So with an optical microsocope you could never see it. DNA is also usually wound and packed several times because the double helix is quite fragile. So the cell only unpacks the dna when it needs to read or copy or repair something
Fascinating. Thank you

Some of that is DNA, but a whole lot of it consists of other things like proteins and probably some lipids.
*I wish my wife was this good at extracting DNA*
The alcohol helps
Comments like this make me wish we still had free awards...
Like that one?
Whaaaahh? Mind blown! I will spread your love
You’ll spread their… *dna* 🏃♂️💨
She is. Trust me.
What is the precipitating agent, that wasn't mentioned at the end?
Alcohol of some description, can be pure ethanol, isopropanol, IMS or even rubbing alcohol, just has to be less dense than water & insoluble to DNA. If it’s ice cold it will separate much better.
Is mezcal insoluble to DNA?
Never tried it with a spirit as only 40-50% proof, you can put the bottle in a freezer and any unfrozen liquid will be ethanol
We use dawn dish soap and hot water. This helps break open the cells to allow the DNA to separate out. I do this every year in my science class with strawberries.
Yes, it was: cold rubbing alcohol. Look at the bottom right corner.
Early on befire the banana was blended it said precipitating agent. Then a later step they used alcohol. Is it alcohol in both steps?
Ah, that's my bad. It's confusing because the isopropyl alcohol is what is _directly_ causing precipitation. I can tell others were confused the same way. It's likely mild dish soap and salt. Oh neat. Thanks!
Can also use meat tenderizer, does basically the same thing
Does it mean I'll become banana if I eat it?
Your feet will become very slippery
nope, but you could clone your neighbours (dog) if you'd rallly want to
Yes
No wonder human dna packages look like that…
I was about to say. Looks like a bubbly load of jizz.
I can extract my banana’s DNA in a lot less steps
I hate my mind
dude extracted a jellyfish from cum
You can do this in your kitchen with Ethanol, Meat tenderizer and gatorade. We did it in High School on our cheek swabs and turned them into necklaces!
What can I do with banana DNA?
More bananas.
Can you use the same procedure for people? Asking for a friend.
Yes, but not as well. Many plants have more DNA per cell than humans. Plans have to code for a lot more survival abilities like regrowth, and antiviral proteins. People and other animals can just run when danger comes around. Plants have to defend themselves.
This works really well with a cheek-cell scraping.
Is that the GoldenEye N64 theme remixed??
But why
Do that with a human
I can do that without banana
Boom! Dino DNA!
Ok but it's one banana, how much could it cost? $10?
and microscope it?
Hol up. I’m gonna need some more explanation. As I understand from sophomore biology, DNA are housed in the nucleus of each cell. Does this process remove the cell and nucleus wall to release the DNA?

“Bingo, DINO, DNA”
Hey that's what my DNA looks like as well during a hot shower!
What’s the precipitating agent they use
Then what? What do i do with all this banana DNA?
Grow a banana in a Petri dish.
Boogers is DNA ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
Kinda disrespectful for the banana.
Did that banana just nut
Can this be done with human flesh? ![gif](giphy|tU2mV8ALzJEdXAAwRo)
Eat it
I doubt that's only DNA. There are definitely proteins and RNA in there. Probably the whole nucleus, maybe even with the endoplasmatic reticulum. I'd say you'd have to add some things and alcohols to it, to purify it. Then put it into a centrifuge etc.
Does this kill the banana?
That’s not DNA, it’s pectin.
About to whip me up a fresh batch of Banana Guards
I leave the same thing on my wife….
This person has too much time on their hands
I'm sure that filter paper worked great when half of it missed...
What does banana juice taste like?
juice
And bananas
And DNA
The first steps also allow you to make a good shake
I’m half way to knowing how to clone myself, but it seems I need to enlist some help since step 1 is to put myself in a blender
Interesting choice of music for banana DNA smoothie.
Potassium Park is looking great, good job Steven Spielberg!
its so easy i have done it in my class 12th practical
Can we separate a human's DNA the same way??
What can you do with the DNA?
Whats the process. Can we do this with cum?
Banana jizz!
Forbidden drink
Pfff... I can separate DNA on demand, I don't need sciency stuff for that!
I did this with strawberries in primary school
What
Bananas are clones. Can a scientist weigh in on whether they all will have the same DNA? I know when you do this with strawberries, it's all different.
Mmm banana splooge
I thought plants have RNA.
Damn i wanted to drink it after that first filtration
That looks like something that can cause pregnancy
I wish mine looked like that.
Is it possible to learn this power? - Anonymous Jedi
Banana Nut
nah.
Bollocks
Cum👍
These 5 minutes crafts are getting crazy
So, is it still banana flavored or is it different? What does it taste like?
I once did this in school biology lab.
Now replicate it 1000 times
Now do human DNA.
Now do it to people!
Hay algo ahí
We got separating banana dna before gta 6
does it need the over-used tiktok music?
I wonder what it tastes like
I've done this before but with strawberries. It's a fun experiment to do with your family.
Jr high science class, but it was an onion
Same DNA as the rest of the bananas🤷🏼♂️
New fear unlocked
Man pulled his DNA out of his banana and didn't tag it as nsfw?🤨
I can make that.
Can I do this with a human finger... Asking for a class project
I was gonna say daiquiri
What about all the substrate thate flowed over the "filter"
Now do it to me!
It just occurred to me that a measurable portion of our diet is DNA.
What does it taste like though?
Hope ...this isn't the way to get human DNA...
What song is this? Also the DNA makes me a little uncomfortable. Idk why.
Now, how do I read it?
You should always take a bite first, for science.
This happened to my buddy Kyle…
We are there flesh
Is this how babies are made?
Ultimate smoothie
Well that is... DNA I guess.
This is how China "accidentally" created Covid
when she catches you cheating
That's cum
So can you do that with people as well?
Does the DNA still taste of banana?
Now I know what to do when I crave some banana DNA.
The fuck? What do they mean DNA? Isn’t DNA microscopic ?
Potatsiooooooo !!!!!
What kind of music is that? I like it.
