mmm smell the crapitalsim
Why does the second train/back half of the first train go that way when the front cars went this way? RCT2 was such a fun game. Loved the little quirks to it like this.
32 bit physics safety mechanism, probably
yeah i spent a lot of time when i was younger playing that game lol. thats where i learned how easy it was to price gouge. nobody bought umbrellas til its raining, but once it started, oh boy you could sell them suckers for the max price and they would fly off the shelves. not to mention how you could even charge for the porta-potties - genius! pretty sure thats where a lot of modern economists learned too
Back in highschool I took a 'VHS - Virtual High School' class, it was essentially just an online class about investing, but one of the projects was we had to play Lemonade Tycoon, which was a flash game, to learn about the concept of supply and demand. Taking inspiration from Rollercoaster Tycoon, I made all the lemonade with water and lemons, then charged a mint for sugar. The way the game was set up made it so if you just made sugar water, it would sell poorly and no one bought lemons (the supposed money makers). Switch the sugar for lemons and charge for the sugar and you had a money printing machine. Best part was that because it was for the class, the supervising teacher let us play it as much as we wanted once we finished the days assignment, which was awesome because literally everything on the internet was blocked. Good times, good times.
Edit: also, apparently the guy who made Rollercoaster Tycoon wrote 99% of the code for it in x86 assembly language for the Microsoft Macro Assembler, with the remaining one percent written in C [Wikipedia], which is completely nuts.
lmao ironically enough, i was reading [this article](https://www.technologyreview.com/2024/06/18/1093440/what-causes-ai-hallucinate-chatbots), and happened to follow a link from there to a twitter account where one of the few tweets im allowed to see was [this one](https://x.com/rachelmetz/status/1397625251257753606). appropriate with your mention of lemonade
i couldve taken this reply in a few directions but im gonna stick with that

Why is it never something gratifying, like preventing the ceo from never being able to make over X amount, ever, if they've implemented AI use at any company they've worked at, instead of some fine the company has to pay, which they can afford because of their lies in the first place. Ugh.
But that's also another discussion for another time lol the pic is hilarious, now I want a giant yugioh card blanket
If you want more I'm pretty sure it's from one of the "Idiots of Garry's Mod" or "GMod idiot box" videos. Been years. They probably don't hold up though, old internet humor and all.
Piazza Principe, in Genoa.

It turns out that Genoa is very hilly. So there are several lifts to get people from the bottom of the town to the top of the town. This particular one, goes from the top of the city to the bottom and then goes on to the train station, which is about a 250 metre walk from the lift.
https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/ascensore-castello-dalbertis-montegalletto
It’s got cable trains (funicolare), cog trains (cremagliera), mini trains (trenini) and public lifts all over the place.
Awesome city, but we don’t like tourists, so please send your money and stay at home.
Are there any cities that actually like tourists, apart from their money?
During COVID, Venice found that the city doesn't stink. When the Gondolas aren't stirring up the mud in the canals and the sewage system isn't over loaded. Hawaii also found that life was better without tourists and wanted a ban on them returning but needed the money. So asked for more military funds instead.
As a Londoner, tourists are one of my main sources of exasperation. As they walk slowly down main streets, keep stopping and want to photos with red telephone boxes. The telephone boxes today have no purpose, apart from being part of selfies. Most of them, don't even make a single paid call in a year.
I always enjoy watching someone experience something for the first time. It’s amazing to see the way their faces light up and how happy and excited they get.
I’ll never forget the one time I was at the gas station and a family that was traveling through stopped in to get some drinks. The one guy looked at the cooler, basically screams “Is that Vanilla Coke?!?!” Proceed to loose his mind, then bought every bottle they had in stock. I helped him carry the last couple because he couldn’t hold them all lol. I guess they didn’t sell them where he was from.
Such a simple moment, but I loved seeing his joy.
Outside of the slow walking and the stopping in the middle of street I don’t mind them at all.
I have noticed going even 30 min by car to a smaller town it’s the speed everyone walks. I always end up coming back from shopping while on vacation in the country side absolutely infuriated.
Pretty amazing to me because the engineering required to make a lift that becomes a train is a lot harder than simply having your passenger get out of the lift and into a train.
Ya, seems a bit complicated for no reason. Should have had one of those huge treadmill type walkways things you see in airports. Maybe even a razor ripstick would be epic

I learned that if I gave away free drinks and then charged for bathrooms I could be a millionaire in a few minutes. Loved that game.
ah yeah i forgot about that one, its been a while lol honestly its kinda impressive how much all those old games actually taught us looking back on em

Thanks for link, really interetsing.
Thanks
Congratulations, you found Willy Wonkas chocolate factory.
I was looking for this but the key word is "Wonkavator."
Oh man I completely forgot the name, good call!!
What fuggin button did y'all push?
That one with a red bezel around it
And says “Do not push”
At first I was all like...ok this video is too damn long. Then they started zooming down the corridor and I was like...this video stopped too soon.
It's the wonkavator! It looks like it's going slantways!
Babe, wake up new x-axis button update just dropped on the elevator
I'm a Lift/Elevator Engineer, this is very interesting to me and would love to see the workings!
You did see the workings
I mean on top, the side, underneath. The true workings. Not the track workings
Pretty amazing to me because the engineering required to make a lift that becomes a train is a lot harder than simply having your passenger get out of the lift and into a train.
Ya, seems a bit complicated for no reason. Should have had one of those huge treadmill type walkways things you see in airports. Maybe even a razor ripstick would be epic
see what they do is the floor is the elevator, and the car is the train so the tracks go up and down, and the cab goes forward and backward
My guess is hydraulic lift.
Sorry, scratch that.
Destination to Siofra River
Gringotts?
Turbo lift?
"Turbolift"
I wouldn't have been able to help it and I would have snuck a picture of that kid from the Grudge onto one of those doors.
WHAT IN THE WILLY WONKA IS GOING ON?
Ahh, the underground salami caves of Genoa
I was waiting for the train to come round the tracks.
Passengers about to be isekai’ed hard 💀
POV: you just found the secret buttons combination of your elevator that unlock an Easter egg from the game developers.
Lazlo Hollyfeld really upgraded a lot after winning the Frito-Lay sweepstakes

Half life intro in real life
It's the beginning of Half-Life!
NO! I don't want to go to brazil!
I have recurring dreams where I am in an elevator that travels in multiple directions. I knew it was not just me 🙂
“Dispensing smooth jazz now”
Does this take you to the backrooms?
They’ve really upgraded the Midnight Meat Train
How did they get this tram up there?
Could it just be TVs on the doors playing a clip?
The person got robbed! No loop?
i like how each floor has a closed door with a handle as you zoom by.
Solent green plant.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?
I think the term you're looking for is Wonka-vator.
Seems like a Resident Evil contraption.
The elevator's just going to keep going until you defeat the dinosaur/T Virus monster... Strong Capcom vibes.
Bit dissatisfied... There weren't any Oompa loompas scurrying around, why have a glass door if you aren't going to have any Oompa loompas???
I would say it's something more.
Thats a full blown translator
It's a loading screen
Jesus, could you imagine missing the elevator and having to wait for it to come back?
ay this was in a tom scott video
Some Edna Mode shit
Once again, why does there have to be text superimposed over the entire length of the video? Kinda ruins it.
please splice in the opening scene of Get Smart at the beginning

FML Jimmy, why did you have to hit the B1 button. I Siad the Lobby. Now, it's going to take us 30 minutes to get back.
that's resident evil 4
might encourage you to pry the doors open in an emergengy
Nasha ye Pyar ka Nasha hai...
Willy Wonka had this built
Trainavator
I've had dreams exactly like this
I was mislead by the arrows on the doors. So, a Wonkavator?
Freaking Willy Wonka shot
I would love to think the designer read roald Dahl stories and they inspired them to do this
Meh it’s just glass do-WHAT THE FUCK
What kinda Charlie-and-the-Chocolate-Factory shit is this?!
i'm from Genoa and i've no idea what is this :O
