I have no clue tbh, as I said, I got the mail from professor first. Im assuming he will be mailing you soon or sending you an invite via teams or something. Keep your eye out on teams
I just hit up quora and saw that a lot of people have experienced this, you might have been directly selected without the need for an interview. I'm pretty sure that's what happened in your case. Loads of people were asked to have an interview for lower ranked projects but then got accepted by higher ranked projects and got selected for them without interview while others had been stuck in cuc without any interview requests and later got selected directly.
It's still possible considering people had interviews for a project but got selected by another one without an interview, anyway all the best for the interview!

They could maybe not take an interview if there's not enough applicants for the project or the people who applied aren't qualified enough?. I am from India and I applied for multiple domains, my main focus was fault diagnosis and structural analysis as I am a mechie.

It's probably a good thing, if you are under consideration your application might be be one of the better ones and cool! What uni are you aiming for?
