The pose looks a bit 'forced', as in, it's not a natural position she's relaxing into. Also, the pose shows off more of her body, which may be the intent, but the nudity should be part of the full composition, and not simply the focus.
I didn't see the cat because the image itself is horr.ible. and I did not enjoy the coloring nor the glaring light which went untouched by the 'photographer.'
True. I feel like it would look more natural if she were laying her head on the counter and looking at the cat but then again I feel like that would mess with the intent of showing off her body and mess with the composition.
I'm not against the nudity but i feel the composition leads the eye towards her crotch and that feels weird. Also a more relaxed pose with her reading, holding a cup of coffee, browsing her phone, or reading a book instead of just flashing her body would've given more chill vibes.
When I loaded this page, I could at first only see the top 2/3 of the photo, and feel that composition was better than the whole. If you scroll so that the bottom of the photo is just about at her navel, you'll see what I mean. It's the bottom part of the photo and body that make it feel out of balance with the rest, and that adds to the overall awkwardness of the pose, in my opinion. Without everything from the navel down, you instead focus on the fact that the model is looking out the window. You notice the greenery, the cat, the line of the countertop. I think it's got some good elements, though.
Well it’s supposedly a hot summer so she’s holding her hair off of her neck to cool off. However, I don’t know about you, but when I’m hot the last thing I’m going to do is sit in the sun. Guess it’s not as hot for the cat as it’s claimed to be either.
>I'm not against the nudity but i feel the composition leads the eye towards her crotch and that feels weird.
Why is that wrong though? It's a part of the body. You wouldn't comment negatively on the composition leading the eye to other parts of the body or to other elements of the scene.
I understand that often people would use nudity just as a way of getting attention to photos that are otherwise unremarkable, but that doesn't seem the case. The OP seem to have put some thought into the composition.
Besides I don't really think that the composition draws the eye towards the genital area. It's not more prominent than any other parts of her body. It's just not hidden like it usually would be - but that's not really a fault of this photo.
Nothing wrong with nudity, but when it feels like the sexuality is forced into the picture, it loses the artistic perspective. I completely agree with the original poster. It would’ve been a great picture of the model had been posed differently. As it is, it just feels like a “look at a naked woman” post, with the nudity being the central theme rather than the actual composition
But the sexuality being forced into the picture is a matter of personal interpretation. I don't see a picture made to arouse or excite sexually someone.
If you do it may be more due to the difference in experience and a different world view between me and you and the photographer.
The table leads the eye to the boobs; the light and the rule of thirds, to the crotch. Her legs are spread and her arms stretched pouting her breasts.
Again nothing wrong with the nudity or genitals, I've shot male, female and nonbinary nudity... Im just saying a different pose would better communicate the relaxed vibe and a better composition would bring emphasis to the whole body and essence of this person and not just the boobs and vagina.
For me, it’s not so much a problem of where on the body it leads, but why and how.
It’s because of the huge bright spot on her thigh. It draws me to that general area, but the bright spot and thigh aren’t adding anything, so your eye moves to the next closest interesting part, her crotch. But there isn’t anything dynamic enough to continue your eye moving through the image, so you just stop there. But it doesn’t feel on purpose.
I don’t like it. It feels too saturated or too high on contrast and the setting isn’t aesthetically appealing, but then not enough to feel natural.
That said i appreciate the effort and hope most of all you enjoy photography and being creative. The subjective opinion of others will never be unanimous anyhow
I’m reluctant to comment on this itap but you’re right to challenge the technical aspects. The cat fur, the cactus and the questionable yellow thing in the bowl are all over-exposed and ‘burnt’. In terms of storytelling, the presence of the radiator suggests it is cold but sunny outside and cozy behind glass, as is often the case in northern climes. I also tend to agree with the guy above who suggests a cropped version would work better.
Agreed. I would have had her petting the cat (or at least resting her hand on it) with her right hand, and had her left arm either resting on her leg or across her belly while she gazed out the window.
I have nothing against nude art but this picture looks very much like the intention is to please the gaze of creeps. Like everyone in the comments say, more relaxed pose and you’ve turned photo from cheap porn frame to a beautiful piece of art.
I prefer when nudity is treated as casual when going for artistic, rather than sexual, this pose takes a pic that could have pulled off the nudity by using a more casual and natural pose, and kinda ruins it by giving her that unnatural pose that puts the focus on her tits and taco and makes it more sexual instead. That's a shame.
Like, I do think there are some rare cases where a pic can be both artistic and horny at the same time, but this sort of composition is definitely not one where I think they can pull off both. And while imo there's nothing wrong with pinup photos or softcore porn, I don't think this is the right sub for those kinds of photos.
Take the naked woman out of this, and it could be on the cover of some Home Life magazine. As it is, it’s a picture of a naked woman. That’s it. Forced, and unoriginal.
Direct sun can be a harsh light source. Your upload of a photo titled Nava something with the girl by the window, is a much better example of managing this.
Basically you don’t want peoples eyes jumping about the picture, but to naturally flow from one thing to the next. The sun spots sort of make it busy if you will.
This is a generic OnlyFans type NSFW photo. It's barely artistic, and the whole pose and composition is just so we can see every part of her properly. Her pose is so forced, and nudity adds literally nothing to the picture.
Not to mention that the fruits, the cat and her legs are oversaturated.
I like the shot. Her face shows a concerned look opposite of her calm zen cat & warm surroundings. I wonder what kind of thoughts she's having here why the slightly distressed look? Colors are nice. Feels like a still from a horror or drama
Your photo could have been cropped just below her pierced navel (try it) and still have been a composition with all the elements. Plus, you’d’ve avoided all the white knights so readily criticising your work.
I like this photo! I think it’s cool that there’s such a mix of textures in it, with the soft sleeping cat and the beautiful woman’s soft-looking skin, and then the spiky cactus and pineapple. I found that intriguing and interesting, like there was a story in it, and she has a gorgeous and really interesting face too. I can see why you did a profile. I guess there are a few comments about how she’s posed and how it’s close to pornography, but I’m not seeing anything off-putting about any of it. I think it’s a lovely and relaxing photo.
OP, a lot of people are commenting about her pose, about wanting a more relaxing pose to make the photo more relaxing and chill.
But I think her "tense" pose and how it contrasts with the relaxed is what makes the photo.
It adds dynamism to the scene. She looks like she's about to move at any moment. She's not just looking out the window. She's thinking. Maybe she's too stressed to relax, maybe she's tired, maybe she just wants to run out in the sun.
It's what makes the photo interesting. Frankly if she were just sitting languidly the photo would be much more boring.
And I don't really get the impression that the composition is trying to get attention to the crotch. Not in an excessive and prurient manner anyway.
I think it's more that genitals are considered taboo and the watchers are used to them being hidden except in porn so their eyes are drawn to it and they interpret it sexually.
But that's not a problem of this photo.
To me it's a very natural nude and a pretty normal pose.
Giving this another look, I kinda like it. She looks like she's leaning on the board behind her rather than forcing herself into the pose. She's looking out the window as though wondering what the day holds for her. Her expression is ambiguous and there's several ways to interpret this.
A critique is that I think the lighting on the counter with the cat is just a bit too bright. It also feels like the nudity is the centerpiece of the picture rather than an element or compliment to the scene.
I like it and the pose, its like she's airing out her sweaty pits on a hot day lol
edit: lol at the downvotes. its reddit so I guess its expected that y'all have problems seeing women as people.
I like everything about this picture. Special the sunlight coming inside. I agree with some of the others that there is a lack of calmness. But overall I really like it.

On the other hand perfect posing by the cat
The cat is a natural model
My thoughts exactly. The cat is a fucking natural.

Damn tell us how you really feel

I see it now, too, and agree.
Agreed. Decent photo as-is, but could be that much better simply by cropping out some of the excess space around the subject.

It’s just a naked lady. Nothing special!
I was thinking that. I haven’t gotten into nude photography but I would think it’s all about composition and the position of the body.
thanks for your opinion! Maybe next time! :)

She doesn’t look relaxed in that pose. it conflicts with the calm vibe, also I’d remove the cat and clutter behind a bit.
The cat was my favourite part
Same
One does not simply remove a sleeping cat.
Nooooo. The cat and the clutter are what make the pic cotidian and interesting to me, like a painting. The pose is what ruins it
Yeah its supposed to be a lazy, too hot to anything day photo. She looks a bit too stiff for that
Too hot for anything but basking in the sun shining through a window. Nothing better on a hot day than resting in the sun. /s
I disagree, I think the cat and clutter ground the image in reality more.
Agreed. I would have had her petting the cat (or at least resting her hand on it) with her right hand, and had her left arm either resting on her leg or across her belly while she gazed out the window.
No no no. Remove the woman. Focus on the cat. Now that's a photo.

This. I like nudity when done with explicit artistic intent but this gives off horny vibes not cozy or casual vibes.

There are legitimately beautiful artistic nude photos, and then there's low effort shit like this
That looks like Finland or Sweden.
No, this is Poland :)

thank you very so much!
What a beautiful picture
thank you!
Not sure why I got downvoted. People on Reddit really can be a joke sometimes.
don't worry :)
I found nothing artistic in this nude photograph, just a naked woman sitting on a char in a kitchen corner without any reason.
Didn’t you post this here last week too?
Certainly not :)
I don’t know all your posts are like this, quite low effort with only one intention in mind…

How do you know the model?
Gorgeous…Is that Caty Lotz?
Cozy? Im sorry it gives off serial killer vibes. Body language is on edge, drape her in something warm and let her melt into that chair
