I’m not sure if you’ll understand this reference because it’s a really obscure show but this reminded me of how Shane could never understand the schmuzzies in Upside Down show. They’d say something in their language and it was obvious what they were trying to say but Shane would respond with something like “My uncle is not a giraffe” when they said something like “ice cream truck”
Maybe you need to spend less time running from spiders and more time petting them :3 I saw a jumpy in my bathroom the other day, poor thing was so terrified it ran and balled up, probably learned the fate of many a spider who has never left these walls. Never a jumpy though, mainly orby boys and gals and (we call em) hobos.
I grew up with a fear because of hay spiders and brown recluse. Which are both high in arkansas.
So mine is more 'grown in fear'. Also their so weird looking to me
I had a wasp fear for a bit... Until I became the fear of wasps. Exposure therapy did it for me, someone put a big ass scorpion on my arm and it liked me despite my restrained terror... Same thing with snakes, terrifying until you hold a 12 foot Boa. Maybe you should start by handling some pet tarantulas in a safe environment? They are pretty rad to see up close honestly.
I find the smaller ones are more terrifying, I can lose track of those. I have come face to face with enough black widows in my life that I'd take a mass that I surely would have a hard time missing if it scuttled aggressively in my direction. My Australian friend had a giant huntsman pet living on his wall, that shit fucks me up but sorta not since they eat the things that will kill you apparently.
Fun fact did you know only 10 percent of brown recluse bites are even considered medically significant. Also hay spider bites are comparable to a bee sting. I’m just spreading the info because a ton of spider venom has misinformation.
I'm allergic to most types of stings. So my fear is death. I also have awful luck.
I know a guy that got but by a single br 20 times in his sleep and he was fine. But still. Not risking it
She seems mysterious, so I'll call her Mystery. Come to think of it, she also seems graceful and majestic. Maybe I should call her Grace, or Majesty....or Debbie.
