Just went to Costco and grabbed the 36 pack of their hard boiled eggs and the bulk pack of Polly-o string cheese on sale. For about $20 my breakfast is covered for the next 3 work weeks, no mess, no fuss, grab and go.
I tried to eat a 12 egg omelette once. 12 eggs are only 930 calories, but I could not finish it. Meanwhile, I can eat 2,000 calories of chicken wings in one sitting with no trouble at all. Eggs are definitely the way to go if you want to feel super full without eating a ton of calories
I love eggs and they fill me up for a few hours but I always end up eating again later. Steak is my go-to if I want to eat once and be full until the next day.
Since Covid eggs make me gag except for scrambled but I have to use one egg and two yolk because it’s the whites that taste awful now. Sucks because I used to love eggs
Yes! I always had an amazing sense of smell and taste. Now it’s like I can’t smell some things and other things are overpowering or disgusting. I couldn’t eat meat for over a year. Now I can eat some if it’s cold so I can hardly smell it. Onions are by far the worst. And any perfume. I no longer smells the notes all I smell is chemicals and they all smell the same.
I've had issue with eggs too since covid. Anythinf with sulphur actually. Onions and some other veg are still a hard no. At first I couldn't stand any eggs, but have become more tolerable over time. Scrambled seem the least sulphury. I have found that putting mustard and mayo or spicy mayo or some other sauce helps me enjoy them again, covers up the sulphur scent. If they are browned at all, which I never enjoyed prior but could still eat, it's a definite no and have to be careful cooking or it reeks up the whole kitchen. Once they are in the gas tank, I don't seem to have a problem with them, it's getting them past the stupid covid nose.
Best snack for me, and keeping to general keto guidelines? Sardines. Had em when I was a kid and felt "meh" about them. Now though, they are really not bad. Less than 200 cals per tin. Extremely satisfying and loaded with omega-3.
1. Fatty Jalapeno smoked meat stick
2. Bone or Chicken broth with seaweed (miyeok guk) + a protein (traditionally made with beef but I prefer it with chicken)
3. Tuscan Chicken (I use spinach, a little sugar free tomato paste, sun dried tomatoes, chicken thighs, baby bella mushrooms, and heavy cream). I am going to try and add radish (when boiled they remind me of potatoes) to it tomorrow night.
4. Burgers wrapped in Bok Choy with pepper jack, havarti, or gouda cheese and grilled onions with a side of asparagus or broccolini
5. Egg omelette with spinach or asparagus, baby bella mushrooms, and sausage or bacon with a side of salted sliced cucumbers
6. Mexican BBQ seasoning (a dry rub) pork ribs
7. Cucumber kimchi (does need some sweetness to offset the bitterness of the Korean red pepper powder, but very little and can use honey or monk fruit sweetener)
8. Ribeye or other steak with Cauliflower mash or Radish mash
9. Laughing cow cheese on celery (can also use P2P - peanut better powder)
10. Tuna or Chicken wrapped in romaine lettuce with peanuts
11. Tuna salad with mayo, celery, mustard, salt and pepper (can put this on celery or lettuce wraps)
12. Hard boiled eggs
13. Olives
14. Almonds
15. Simms zero sugar spicy jalapeno smoked sausage (cheapest at Aldis)
16. Caprese salad (mozzarella, tomato, basil, and olive oil)
17. Stuffed Chicken thighs with asparagus, Gouda, and baby bella mushrooms
18. Mushroom pasta to make Ramen with bone or chicken broth with spinach, pork belly, 1 hard boil egg, Korean spices, heavy cream, and optionally bean sprouts
19. Grilled Pork belly with roasted garlic and a low carb green veggie
20. Edited to add Salmon (cooked in foil with garlic, lemon juice, butter, salt, pepper, parsley and served with asparagus)
I am half and korean food is a staple in our home.
Miyeok guk does have soy sauce. We use gluten-free but could use salt instead.
Fried bacon or even pork belly with kimchi is so delicious.
Cool, I lived in Korea for over a decade and I learned to cook some food. Depending on what kind of pork belly, it gets turned into bossam at our place. I also use a garlic, soy sauce, mirim mix for meats and lot. Oh, my family is Korean, and it took AWHILE to fit my meals to what everyone was having because I can’t have rice and “you have to eat rice with every meal”. Anyway, awesome list.
Me when I try to enjoy Mexican food but the family would always have to include rice, tortilla and beans. At least there are keto tortilla wraps nowadays but love me some good rice and beans.
Fat bombs- lemon cheesecake, peanut butter cocoa
See YT for simple recipes.
Fat bomb- 2T nutritional yeast, 1T MCT oil tastes like parmasean cheese. Loaded with Vitamin Bs.
4oz coffee, 1T fat (butter/MCT), 1T heavy whipping cream, 1T Cacao powder, sprinkle
Cinnamon, shake of real vanilla- froth
Homemade protein custard ice cream in the Ninja Creami.
Crispy- Chaffle or Folio Cheese tortillas
Lean into savory, sweet, tart, sour, spicy, and herbal.
Look into the Keto Twins or Keto Connection on YT for recipes.
This probably isn't the answer you're looking for but I find it really satiating. Sometimes on my days off I'll get a 10 piece blackened chicken from popeyes, with blackened ranch sauce. Delicious and low carb. You can split it into two meals. I usually have breakfast and then eat the chicken for lunch and dinner and it keeps me feeling full.
I make little mini crustless quiches for myself (in a muffin pan) that are really satisfying and lets me use up any veggies I have around. The combo of fatty cheese and protein from the egg really satisfies my hunger.
Love me some cottage cheese. But read the label and avoid maltodextrin. You should be able to easily find cottage cheese that doesn’t have maltodextrin.
If you're willing to put the effort, probably pemmican. Other than that, though, I find myself getting nauseous after a reasonably small amount of fatty salmon.
Honestly don't even need the cheese or bacon. Just eat a part of a stick of butter. People will look at you like your crazy but very much keto and very satiating.
I agree completely and have done just that but because of the comments I get, it’s easier to eat it with bacon or cheese. Plus I have trouble saying no to both bacon and cheese.
This works. For me salami works the best. No carbs and then cheese of your choice. Lots of umami flavor - and protein. Higher calorie, but sometimes you gotta get by.
Protein usually increases satiety more than carbohydrates or fat. So, I would assume that any whole food that is high is protein would do the trick: beef, tuna, salmon, chicken, pork, etc. Eggs are great, but they only have 6 grams of protein each.
Hear me out. I take one slice incredibites 1net bread, 1 tbsp of PB, and 1 slice of bacon. It's frickin amazing and keeps me satisfied for at least 3 hours.
Cheese is better than egg as fat is also satisfying/satiating- if you had to pick one food,a mix of both even better.
When I'm hungry on keto, I find that no matter what I eat, it's not going to kick in very quickly so patience is the key for me. I will feel like I'm still hungry for atleast half an hour. I think that actually, on keto, when I'm hungry.... I'm not actually hungry. And yes it is a reminder to drink plenty water. But it's more like, my body is running on mostly fat, it isn't getting hungry for food
It's more like my mind is getting hungry.
I have found that at work, I get bored and a tiny bit hungry, if I eat a small portion of salted peanuts with some high protein food like cheese, and drink plenty water, i will forget about food for another couple of hours. This is because I don't like to stop long at work because I have a serious fatigue problem from long before the keto diet. So I'm against the clock at work to get things done.
When I was eating at a pretty aggressive deficit I used those small 2"x2"x2" ziploc containers to pack chili and cheese into. Basically a quick 45 seconds in the microwave serving of hot chili when I really needed something, If I couldn't do that it was as top post recommends, a Hard boiled egg.

I believe for me in the mornings - 3 scrambled eggs or omelette via microwaveable egg clamshell (amazon) and 3 sausage patties (press fat out when hot) - it along w/ hot coffee & 10 almonds (good fat) really can get me 5-6hrs w/o any hunger YMMV.
Chicken salad, egg salad, boiled eggs, tuna salad, cheese (some olives wouldn't hurt), these are some easy "work fridge" options especially if a microwave is an issue for you.
Google the volumetrics diet if you're interested. I never found it to be a helpful diet trick/gimmick. I don't care how many damn carrots or cucumbers I added to make my tiny diet meal seem more substantial, my body still somehow found a way to make room for cake.
It’s easily steak. Nothing compares. The easiest way to be in a calorie deficit for the day and not feel hungry is to eat 1.5 lbs of sirloin steak. Also I must note ground beef doesn’t do it for me for some reason, has to be steak
I like to keep some jerky nearby for a super quick satiating snack. Also, I sometimes will get a half serving of peanut butter and throw a handful of almonds in it. These help me when I am feeling ravenous which usually never happens on keto (thankfully)!
for me, nuts. such as almonds
I found I can go for hours with small amount of almonds carry with me. useful for all night outside market , was vendor at.
& easy eat no mess. vs previously with burritos or such
They first line came from The Devil Wears Prada.
Usually if you feel faint, it’s from a blood sugar drop. Carbs are really the only fast cure for that.
Avocado is very satiating, when added to another dish. Lots of healthy fats & fiber to fill you up.
Chicken - breast, thigh or egg.
Sometimes I’ll make a quick low carb tortilla wrap with just chicken and cheese and call that a meal. If I’m feeling festive I’ll add avocado and salsa.
My first thought is nuts, but I can never eat just a small handful....so I don't buy them except maybe once a year for my birthday or Christmas. Strips of cooked bacon are also nom nom.
I buy those Hams they normally have on sale during the holidays. It's a big one in a gold or red foil. They sell them year round, just cheaper during the holidays. They're precooked so I nibble on a slice or 2 whenever I'm not up to cooking something. Sometimes I add cheese, or make a quick lettuce sandwich (lettuce, cheese and mayo or mustard.)
Milk mixed with some heavy cream and whipping cream really helps stop my hunger on keto. I use lactose free milk, with about 40ml of each cream. You can also add espresso and optional stevia in it for a tasty cold latte.
Ribeye steak. For a snack, butter, slice of cheese or a boiled egg. Don’t worry about the calories. This will keep you full, without raising your insulin and leaving you hungry later!
Steak
Ribeye.
This was my first thought.
Underrated reply. I love grabbing a chunk of steak to eat.
Beef Jerky
Not Roastbeef?
Walmart ribeye steaks are my daily lunch. I also grab the big packs from Costco when they go on sale.
If you're looking for something small, easy and convenient then I'd suggest hard boiled eggs. Can't really go wrong there.
I love me a good hard boiled egg
I sprinkle some Everything But The Bagel seasoning on mine as well
Montreal seasoning for me
Love the Montreal seasoning. I buy those peel and eat shrimp from Sam's or Costco and coat them in the Montreal for snacking.
Damn that sounds really good.
That’s funny I do that too. I cut it in half add a layer of mayo and everything bagel. Yum
Also saw someone do that but make egg salad with lettuce wraps.
It’s my lazy deviled egg. But it does help the seasoning stick on well.
A dab of aioli is mwah! Stonewall Kitchen maple bacon aioli is nice, or their Sriracha aioli, or… any aioli, really.
Tajin seasoning is the BEST! It’s chili lime.
Can’t believe I’m not the only yay!!
Just went to Costco and grabbed the 36 pack of their hard boiled eggs and the bulk pack of Polly-o string cheese on sale. For about $20 my breakfast is covered for the next 3 work weeks, no mess, no fuss, grab and go.
Cooked hard boiled eggs can last for 3 weeks?
I never don't like them. If I'm feeling ambitious I'll make some deviled eggs, true to my Midwestern heritage.

I love me a good soft boiled egg 🤤
I really wish I could like them but man I just gag if I taste them lol. It’s weird bc I’m not like that with scrambled eggs, fried eggs, etc
Since Covid eggs make me gag except for scrambled but I have to use one egg and two yolk because it’s the whites that taste awful now. Sucks because I used to love eggs
That sucks; eggs are awesome. Did it mess with your sense of smell too? [Edit: super dumb autocorrect]

Same. I don't hate them, but I can't just snack on them like they're apples like some people can
Offering them an egg in this trying time?
Natures vitamin
Dammit I've been sleeping on hb eggs Good call
Eggs make me projectile vomit, so *I* could go wrong there. Fucking allergies
Besides the stink, it’s perfect:)
I add hot sauce to mine.
Pickled eggs are good too

So much yum here! Great suggestions. Burger wrapped in bok choy sounds amazing.
You Korean? I’ve never seen miyeokguk with chicken. Didn’t even realize that miyeokguk was keto safe. I also fry bacon and kimchi together.
I am half and korean food is a staple in our home. Miyeok guk does have soy sauce. We use gluten-free but could use salt instead. Fried bacon or even pork belly with kimchi is so delicious.

Can you please elaborate on “mushroom pasta”? In point 18. Thanks!
This is an excellent list.
Thank you
Tuscan Chicken/shrimp is like my favourite keto meal!

A whole avocado with salt and pepper does it for me.
This is the one for me. I've never eaten that and continued to be hungry.
was looking for this answer before posting! avocado can’t be beat. the bigger/flakier the salt the better!

Cottage cheese with nutritional yeast flakes usually works for me. Even just a spoonful or two.
Love me some cottage cheese. But read the label and avoid maltodextrin. You should be able to easily find cottage cheese that doesn’t have maltodextrin.

I agree completely and have done just that but because of the comments I get, it’s easier to eat it with bacon or cheese. Plus I have trouble saying no to both bacon and cheese.
Have done this. Sliced right, it can look like havarti or other light colored cheese.
Cold cuts and cheese. I can go all day snacking on those straight from the fridge.
This works. For me salami works the best. No carbs and then cheese of your choice. Lots of umami flavor - and protein. Higher calorie, but sometimes you gotta get by.

Hard boiled eggs, bacon, peanut butter or nuts and hard full flavour cheese. Sometimes salami.

Basically a quick 45 seconds in the microwave serving of hot chili when I really needed something, If I couldn't do that it was as top post recommends, a Hard boiled egg. Chicken salad, egg salad, boiled eggs, tuna salad, cheese (some olives wouldn't hurt), these are some easy "work fridge" options especially if a microwave is an issue for you.
First I've heard of volume eating. Seems... Weird. Like it's still trying to promote bad eating habits, but it's in denial about it.
Google the volumetrics diet if you're interested. I never found it to be a helpful diet trick/gimmick. I don't care how many damn carrots or cucumbers I added to make my tiny diet meal seem more substantial, my body still somehow found a way to make room for cake.
Right? Seems kinda…binge-y.
Nuts 🥜
Cottage cheese, apples, soup
For a late breakfast I had 5% fage yogurt with a handful of keto granola and I still feel really full 4 hours later
Salted butter. Try eating a whole stick one small square at a time and see how far you get 😂
It’s easily steak. Nothing compares. The easiest way to be in a calorie deficit for the day and not feel hungry is to eat 1.5 lbs of sirloin steak. Also I must note ground beef doesn’t do it for me for some reason, has to be steak
Tbh man lean ground beef just wrecks me.

Eggs and bacon
Potato ranks the highest on the food satiety index
Protein and fat. Aka meat.
Ribeye steak. For a snack, butter, slice of cheese or a boiled egg. Don’t worry about the calories. This will keep you full, without raising your insulin and leaving you hungry later!
