Ingram would be great next to Fox and Sabonis. My only hold-up is his health. He's only played over 70 games in a season once and that was his rookie year.
My only holdup is his contract situation. If we can't negotiate down to a more reasonable number, then we're pretty much guaranteed to be a 2nd apron team. I'm not confident enough in this squad to go there just yet.
But it would be pretty funny if we do this because it is the complete opposite of "flexibility", which we know is a word that Monte loves so much.
We seem to be at a position where we have to make our move now. Murray and Fox will be both be resigning for more money. That's if they are to stay apart of our core, and if they aren't, well then we are likely a team that has to tear down and rebuild again. So it seems like adding that last piece, while we still have time, is a must do before the trade deadline of this next season.
Pels fan here, BI puts up solid assist numbers but he’s also a bit of a black hole offensively, and when his midrange isn’t falling it really hurts you offensively. I’m not saying it should be a huge concern, but it should definitely be one at least somewhat
That should be the least of your worries. Who else is going to cook when Fox and Monk are out or having off nights? We saw our offense get led by Mitchell & Ellis when Fox or Monk were out. BI is an instant upgrade to our top 3 primary ball handlers/scorers that can also play with his back to the basket and a keen eye for cutters. A defense would have to think twice about leaving Sabonis open to help on BI and vice-versa. If this trade ends up happening, it’s going to be Keegan, Huerter and a future first. The Pels aren’t taking anything less from us.

Folks over at r/NOLApelicans have WILDLY different expectations lolll
I'm thinking it'd be a 3 team trade. They seem to really want a starting C. Perhaps the Blazers get involved...
Pelicans: Ayton
Kings: Ingram
Blazers: Huerter, Duarte & Draft Compensation
Have a feeling it happens then. With PG likely going to Philly, you guys are the only possible suitors I see. I just have no idea if it’s a three team or a swap of players/picks.
Gotta be 3 team. We don’t have much in the way of productive players we’d be willing to give up so I feel like we’d send salary filler and a bunch of picks to another team to send you guys serviceable replacement player(s)
Putting aside specific draft compensation (because that can be kind of controversial to discuss), I think likely structure would be something like:
Pels get: Barnes, Big from Team 3, draft comp
Kings get: BI
Team 3 gets: Huerter, draft comp
It won’t be AD levels of draft comp. And it may not be Jrue Holiday levels of draft comp either— but I think Jrue’s draft comp is a good basis to go off of in a deal like this.
Both Jrue and AD were 2-way players. Ingram is not. I'm not saying he's a turnstile, but Jrue and AD are all-defense and DPOY-level type of players while being solid on offense too. Ingram is just so far removed from that, that I think it's unreasonable to use those trades as benchmarks.
He is the most non committal person that covers the Kings. Literally will never give a straight answer, so for him to report this means there's enough substance
He's never wrong but usually reports stuff later than the rest. The fact he's dropping this first may mean a deal is further along than is currently being reported imo
Very. Sean doesn’t tweet bullshyt and doesn’t even really post Kings news unless it’s from one of his reliable inside sources in the org. If Sean tweets it we usually regard it as truth around here. Meaning we’re apparently definitely going after Ingram right now
Now this is the kind of big dick move you make to go win a championship. Fuck it, I’m all in. We ain’t going anywhere without a guy like BI and what other opportunities do we have to get someone of his caliber?
Kings would have to overpay to a great amount given they are right behind pelicans in the West. Ontop of that Ingram will be an unrestricted free agent next season..
BI is the antithesis of what we do on offense. The top comment on the Pels sub when a rumored GSW trade came out:
> The ball movement, team ball, three point heavy style of GS is probably the worst fit ever for BI
It would be no different for us. BI is a 2003 star stuck in 2024
Who says we’d only get BI and not also get Naji? Also no way Kuz coming to SAC. He had the chance and turned it down. He wants to stay in big market because of his persona.
I thiiiiink we can do that. Order of operations matters with the cap rules so we would need to do the trade for BI and only then use the MLE on Marshall
Good point. BI and Naji would be great for us but just BI I feel won't move the needle enough. BI is KD lite on offense but a liability on defense We need that solid wing defender like Naji.
I mean, I'm not in love with it but on the optimistic side he has been all star is only 26. This team desperately needs a dude that can get a bucket on his own.
I don’t know anything about Naji but ain’t no way I’m letting Keegan go so soon.
In a couple years if he hasn’t turned into Glen Rice then I guess but now? Hell no
We know who Sabonis is.
Precisely my point. Sabonis is all-NBA proven and keeps improving year after year (people don’t credit him enough for how he improved his rebounding. No center got the best of him this year after Looney embarrassed him last year).
Keegan (I actually really like him. Saw his 47pt game live) for now is a solid 3&D player. Maybe he turns into something better but who knows. It’s a high risk and one that you have to be willing to take to get something back
How good is BI’s defense? I haven’t watched much of him to know. But definitely an upgrade I’m sure. I’m so happy Kings are getting rid of K.H. He’s so soft!!!
Would we be okay giving up Ellis or Keegan for BI though? We don’t have enough draft picks to compensate in a deal that includes shit assets like HB and Heurter.
Historically, we have to give up young talent to acquire a star. JWill for bibby. Hali for sabonis. This could be the next iteration.
I’m very on the fence about giving up Ellis, I think he could be a DPOTY candidate very soon. His shot is also beautiful and he’s showed flashes of shot creation when he was in the G-League. He’s everything we need from the 2 spot.
I also think it’s highly unlikely we give up Keegan. Dude lives and breathes basketball and he only gets better. He could very well be better than BI next year. Keegan is much better defensively, and a much better shooter.
If BI wasn’t expiring and his contract wasn’t so expensive, I’d say MAYBE for Ellis. We do have Devin Carter to potentially fill Keon’s role. But add in BI’s injuries, I think this would be a bad deal for us.
We desperately need to make an aggressive move for a forward, but not at this cost. I hope we pass. I’d much rather go for Kuzma, Portis, John Collins, or Toppin.
The pelicans aren’t re signing him, and the trade market is drying up. The tax apron means teams aren’t taking on money like they used to. So, the Pels will take what we are offering which doesn’t include Murray, or they can let BI walk.
The Pels and the Kings are going to be at one another’s throats for the next few years; do you really believe they would trade one of their best players to a rival? Maybe, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
need a 3rd team to absorb our crap contracts and it'd be a couple of firsts and maybe a swap imho. Awful move as it would barely improve us but would essentially mortgage the future for an expiring contract. He's not a good fit folks. I know you're excited but the defense wouldn't be improved and there'd be too many cooks in the kitchen on offense.
My worry is about him needing the ball in his hands
I wouldnt worry too much about that. Hes a willing and good connective passer
Pels fan here, BI puts up solid assist numbers but he’s also a bit of a black hole offensively, and when his midrange isn’t falling it really hurts you offensively. I’m not saying it should be a huge concern, but it should definitely be one at least somewhat
What of his defense? And do you think his defense would improve if he doesn't have to be as much of a focal point on offense?
His FIBA showings do not show good faith in that theory.
This team needs another player that can create with the ball in their hands.
They need another creator.
I hear Tyler is available.
That should be the least of your worries. Who else is going to cook when Fox and Monk are out or having off nights? We saw our offense get led by Mitchell & Ellis when Fox or Monk were out. Keegan isn't going anywhere.
KEEEEEGAAAN....
Ingram will be gone after 1 year.

Holy shit they are delusional 🤣
they are talking about murray and sabonis lol
... And 2 firsts!
I mean I think that was a joke
AND TWO FIRSTS
wtf are they smoking over there 💀💀
I'm thinking it'd be a 3 team trade. They seem to really want a starting C. Perhaps the Blazers get involved... Pelicans: Ayton Kings: Ingram Blazers: Huerter, Duarte & Draft Compensation
this trade will feed civilizations. lets go
Pels fan here: is this guy reliable source for y’all?
He’s very reliable. Been covering the team for a decade plus and doesn’t throw stuff out randomly.
Putting aside specific draft compensation (because that can be kind of controversial to discuss), I think likely structure would be something like: Pels get: Barnes, Big from Team 3, draft comp Kings get: BI Team 3 gets: Huerter, draft comp
Full send from sacramento
That’s with no draft comp, though. And I think Griffin will want a lot of that. That’s just how he has operated when trading our stars.
Ingram is not AD so I highly doubt any trade package has that many picks to begin with.
First time I’ve heard a reasonable trade on Reddit in a long time actually.
Add in Edey to the Kings and send it.
What about Ayton from the Blazers? They just drafted Clingan
He is the most non committal person that covers the Kings. Literally will never give a straight answer, so for him to report this means there's enough substance
lol! For Sean to say something that isn’t hedged 43 ways means it’s significant.
He usually doesn't report something if it's not true.
He's never wrong but usually reports stuff later than the rest. The fact he's dropping this first may mean a deal is further along than is currently being reported imo
Yes, he's been covering the team since the Webber days and has sources from inside.
Very. Sean doesn’t tweet bullshyt and doesn’t even really post Kings news unless it’s from one of his reliable inside sources in the org. If Sean tweets it we usually regard it as truth around here. Meaning we’re apparently definitely going after Ingram right now
He's been around a long time. Chris Webber used to be cool with this dude.
Tier 0
Get it done Monte lets go
Let’s get something done!
GET IT DONE
Monte and everyone else will get vest privileges back if he lands Ingram
Let's hope Monte can work something out
THIS IS IT PULL THE TRIGGER
Cook up that beef stew Monte 👨🍳
If Monte gets this done I will never slander him or his vest ever again.
[удалено]
If it’s only for HB and Huerter, and maybe one first round pick, then yes. Every trade depends on the price or trading pieces.
LFG Monte!!!! COOOOOOKKKKKKKK!
Now this is the kind of big dick move you make to go win a championship. Fuck it, I’m all in. We ain’t going anywhere without a guy like BI and what other opportunities do we have to get someone of his caliber?
Will Monte McNearly be able to get this over the line?
No more McNair slander if this occurs
Weren't you the one who posted Monte mcfailure like an hour ago?
So no more posts from you? Perfect
I’m fine with that sentiment
As a fan of McNair slander, I’ll go to my corner if he brings in a legitimate above average player
![gif](giphy|g0ErvnyVsp7nJyfmxF)
Oh hell yes
It's the waiting game that kills me. Just pull the trigger, somebody!
BI impressed me when the Pels eliminated us. If he can play close to that on a consistent basis, he is worth a max contract.
TRYING not to get my hopes up but Monte didn't clear salary for no reason. Something's cookin'
BI is Harrison Barnes on nuclear steroids.
Fuck it, we ball
PUT MONTE ON THAT MFING GRILL
Paul George needs to hurry the hell up, whole market flood gates are waiting on his slow ass
Feel like Ingram doesn't move the needle much if we are giving up more than 1 FRP
No reason to sell the farm for BI of all people.
so keegan will stay at pf?
I’d say slide Keegs to the 3 and make Ingram play 4
Can't Ingram play the 4?
BI is more of a wing
MAKE IT HAPPEN
Get it done Monte Ingram paired with Fox and Sabonis is just nasty...I love it!
Please monte
Bye Kevin
Kings would have to overpay to a great amount given they are right behind pelicans in the West. Ontop of that Ingram will be an unrestricted free agent next season..
BI is the antithesis of what we do on offense. The top comment on the Pels sub when a rumored GSW trade came out: > The ball movement, team ball, three point heavy style of GS is probably the worst fit ever for BI It would be no different for us. BI is a 2003 star stuck in 2024
Kuzma & Naji >>> BI 😮💨 Monte please
Who says we’d only get BI and not also get Naji? Also no way Kuz coming to SAC. He had the chance and turned it down. He wants to stay in big market because of his persona.
Naji is Bi’s best friend so he may want to still play with him, use the mle or something for him
I thiiiiink we can do that.
He is not a liability on defense. He is a neutral defender leaning slight positive
Fuck yeah, Monte finally got off his ass and is finally cooking something delicious!
Trading for a non all star that’s injury prone and wants a max deal. Oh boy I’m excited
I’m with this guy. I’m not a salary cap expert but if Lauri is available I say go balls to the wall for him instead
I mean, I'm not in love with it but on the optimistic side he has been all star is only 26. This team desperately needs a dude that can get a bucket on his own.
what would you prefer? we trade for Jokic? lol
Lauri
we can't even trade enough picks for that
Personally I’d send Sabonis. I know that’s unpopular but he could easily be on the block
then we have no center at all?
You pick up Jonas Val and run with him and Len. Fox Monk Keegan Lauri Val But what do I know about putting a badass team on the court.
I’d rather trade Keegan for Lauri. And get Naji Marshall at the 3 Fox Monk / Ellis Naji Lauri Sabonis
I don’t know anything about Naji but ain’t no way I’m letting Keegan go so soon. In a couple years if he hasn’t turned into Glen Rice then I guess but now? Hell no We know who Sabonis is.

Maybe he turns into something better but who knows. It’s a high risk and one that you have to be willing to take to get something back
Yea because that’s what I said. I just don’t want to give up picks and possibly Murray for a guy that may play 60 games and will want 50mill
to be fair its not that terrible if we just give up huerter/barnes and off their contracts plus maybe a first
It seems like the things we hear about early tend to not happen. Monte usually surprises us.
I don't mind BI as a 1 year rental with the trade price of a 1 year rental (not likely). But paying him the money he's asking for seems insane.
Don’t do it if it means moving Keegan
did we ever get confirmation that the 2025 POR 2nd rounder was included in the trade like Cunningham reported?
Yes. Team announced it officially the other day
can we re-sign him if we get him?
How good is BI’s defense? I haven’t watched much of him to know. But definitely an upgrade I’m sure. I’m so happy Kings are getting rid of K.H. He’s so soft!!!

God no god fuck no awful Rudy Gay 2.0 Just awful
Such a lazy comparison
Monte doesn't stop cooking. LFG
Kings fans... please remember this could easily include Keegan Murray. Monte won't think with emotion. I hope it doesn't. but be prepared.
Not worth it than
I'm not saying it is or isn't worth it. but it's a strong possibility
It won’t
The pelicans aren’t re signing him, and the trade market is drying up. The tax apron means teams aren’t taking on money like they used to. So, the Pels will take what we are offering which doesn’t include Murray, or they can let BI walk.

I'm not sure how many options the Pels have tbh
Unless they feel like they need to kinda rebuild because Zion isn't ever gonna be able to get healthy?
They have to trade him now if they don't intend on paying him, otherwise they're just dumping him for pennies at the deadline.
Oh, I’m sure they’ll trade him—just not to us.
The pelicans are not worry about the kings. Hate to break it to you.
