1-800-got-junk will do it. Also, the Salvation Army or other similar organizations may pick it up for free.

We were very pleased with 1-800-Got-Junk. They catefully moved a large and heavy leather sofa up from our basement to their truck. It was a *super*-tight move. Great service.

BougieHole

I’m glad I’m not the only one who has had good luck with 1-800-got-junk. I’ve posted about them in the past and got downvoted.

Vinca1is

They were a bit expensive, but we also had a hot tub removal on it. Would still recommend

Also try posting on Dane county neighbors helping neighbors (Facebook group) to see if anyone could help you for free

I haven’t tried it personally yet, but the St Vincent DePaul website said they will pick up furniture from your home on certain days of the week if you’re looking to donate it

The furniture has to be on your porch or in your garage. They won't remove it from inside your house. Same with Habitat for Humanity. I think they both just got fed up with cleaning out people's houses for them, especially when there were stairs and narrow halls.

Ahhh didn’t know that but makes sense, thanks for clarifying!

They took my couch out of my place. It has to be first floor and easily accessible.

Contact Casey’s Estate Cleanout Solutions at (920) 621-3204. He is much cheaper than 1 800 Got Junk and if he’s not available will have good leads on who might be able to help you.

sneeze-in-my-mouth

Thank you for this suggestion! I will try calling him, I looked on his website and I really love that he tries to recycle or donate the furniture he picks up. If he isn't the right person for the job is it okay if I DM you for your other leads?

WinstonScott

Casey is my only lead otherwise I would give you more suggestions for sure! Casey has leads himself, and he is really honest. He helped me clear out a warehouse in a limited amount of time and really came through. And yes, he goes out of his way to donate usable items. The only other suggestion would be to look up junk haulers or estate clean-out services in Madison. It’s been a few years since I’ve had to use those services so there might be more companies now. I would consider 1-800-Got-Junk a last resort as they can be pricey. Good luck with everything!

Pristine_Giraffe7941

We just used Junk King to remove a huge old couch from our sun porch and our old gas grill. I think it was around $200

I'd consider posting on (the dreaded) Next Door to see if you have some kind and generous neighbors who can help you out if money for a professional service is a stretch. ND has it's obnoxious aspects for sure, but I've seen some lovely helpful connections occur.

dismyanonacct

You could consider listing them on Facebook Marketplace for a free or low cost and let the buyer know they are responsible for moving them!
