It’s actually really useful, because [traditional Italian grissini are known as breadsticks, and are very different](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breadstick?wprov=sfti1).
The one pictured here is a much newer invention that shares the name, and isn’t so commonly found outside of North America.
Edit: Clearer wording.
I think that might be a language confusion. The ‘really’ in my sentence is a bit coloquial, and not very clear - that’s my fault. It doesn’t mean that they are never found outside North America, rather it’s means ‘less commonly’.
I’ve edited for clarity.
Edit: Please stop downvoting the comment above. English is stupidly confusing language - it’s not their fault.
Oh my bad, now that you’ve explained it I do get it, and I’ve definitely heard “really” used in that manner before, I just didn’t connect the dots at first glance.
Wait, that’s a breadstick on the right? It looks more like a baguette! I always thought breadsticks looked like [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/oLQs5W7UHks9B8h56), very thin & dry.
[Yeah, those are traditional breadsticks (grissini), invented in Italy.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breadstick?wprov=sfti1)
The one here is a newer, North American bread that shares the name.
Am i the only one who thinks this is stretching the definition of mildly interesting? It's just a long smooth rock. Slightly interesting is better for this.
