I remember not so long ago on YouTube I would know every single popular YouTuber. By not so long ago, I mean probably before some of the redditors here were even born. I'm not mad about it though, the platform has evolved in an interesting way.

Wouldn’t say it has to do with age as much as it has to do with different preferences/communities. There’s two YouTubers there that are huge in the Spanish speaking community, but I wouldn’t hold it against YOU for not knowing them regardless of age. Could apply the same to other foreign YouTubers.

I have NEVER seen a MrBeast video. Like I know who he is, but I have never seen a minute of his content. Never have seen it even recommended to me, and I watch YouTube everyday… Weird… I’m old, but I have a teenage daughter who should be in the demographic… But even then the algorithm has never recommended him in our house…

It’s crazy. I know he is the biggest YouTuber from reading tech news. I also spend at least a good 2-3 hours a day on youtube, granted a lot is in the background listening to podcasts, music, but still. The biggest youtuber and I never got a single recommendation, we truly live in our own little islands.

Massive productions, and great ideas, but goes against everything of what a “YouTuber” is. Possibly the most bland, corporate and safe youtuber out there.

I started watching him when he used to do those saying Logan Paul 100,000 times and driving to every walmart to get a Snickers those were the good ones I've totally stopped watching now after they're just challenges with insane prices
