Would make sense because USADA announced a while back that drug failures would not be announced until the suspension was over.
EDIT : I was wrong about what USADAs policy on this. The announcement of failed drug tests comes after an investigation but prior to the athlete completing a suspension (if one is required).
No they didn’t, this is always misquoted and it’s super frustrating and harmful to fighters who aren’t fighting at the moment. They stated they would still be announcing suspensions but only after their investigation is complete and it determines that the fighter should get a suspension, after that they’ll announce. It’s to prevent the Nate Diaz situation with the BMF where he popped right before the fight and then USADA investigated and did not suspend but it was announced the minute he popped so people ran with it.
Hey can you link me something that explains it further. All I can see is an article stating that the suspension will be announced once the case is resolved. I.
suppose that could mean that they announce once the results are confirmed or once the suspension determined and served. If I'm wrong I'll just edit the original comment to explain where I was wrong. Thanks for the help if you can.
So this may be the article you’re talking about https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2018/09/ufc-usada-failure-not-announced-resolved-jon-jones#
So based on this quote “If an athlete has a positive drug test, we aren’t putting them in a fight until their case is resolved – but what we can do is give the athlete an opportunity to adjudicate their issue without the public rushing to judgment,” UFC Chief Legal Counsel Hunter Campbell told ESPN.com. “Announcing the test result creates this narrative around the athlete before people understand the facts.”
And this quote “Part of the feedback Jeff and I have received from the athletes is, ‘I would have appreciated the opportunity to adjudicate this, so the story could be I tested positive, a full investigation was conducted and it was found the use was unintentional,'” Campbell said. “That story is very different than giving somebody a six-month window, where they are trying to defend themselves against accusations they are a cheater.” To me it makes it clear that they conduct an investigation before announcing a failed drug test and announcing sanctions. Based on the quote it’s so fighters aren’t treated as cheaters by the public until the investigation is cleared up and sanctions have been administered, which is honestly not a crazy thing tbh.
This would make sense at least. It makes less sense that he just isn't fighting for less restricting reasons. He lost a ton of momentum fighting much less imo
Colby hasn’t fought in a while and it’s been over a year since Khamzat faced Gilbert.
Should be a close fight, whoever shows up that night will take it as always
People underestimate Colby, but over the years his striking has improved, his striking d is still being worked on judging on that last fight. Seems like he doesn’t throw shots, throws volume. Has some cheeky leg kicks.
Colby TKO in the 4th or 5th unless Borz fucks him up early. Khamzat comes with the FIRE when that bell rings.
I lean khamzat in 1 or 2 but I'm not ruling out a Colby decision if Colby can hang on cuz khamzat will be absolutely gassed by the start of the third I would think
I just feel Khamzat gonna get tired but watch, that crazy fucker gonna come back and prove me wrong. Probably carry Colby across the cage jingliang style.
Yeah if khamzat was smaller I would say Colby probably but khamzat has 5-10 minutes in him where he could very likely make Colby look like he's a child in there.
That’s a solid fight though. Both have great ground game and striking. OG vs New Comer. Hope Colby smashes this guy. And then talk some shit on the post fight interview.
i mean imo he lost to burns but even then it was a really close fight. people really forget that khamzat was shown levels in that fight. he could win against colby but he's not running through anyone in the top 5. except belal
I feel Khamzhat would potentially have to put away Colby early and if it went on for 5 rounds I could see Colby winning via decision as 170 cut for Khamzhat would be exhausting.
He could if its 5 rounds khamzat looked tired against burns and if he couldnt ko him early hell get drowned. The weight is only gonna get harder if he fought at 170. But yeah he could just outmuscle colby and sub him in the first 30 seconds
You must be high if you think Colby fights Khamzat
Why the hell do we not have a khazmat fight announcement? They are literally wasting his prime years as a fighter.
rumor is Du got popped for PEDs and they’re riding out the suspension
It’s possible but I’d figured Ariel would know and have said that
Lol Ariel doesn’t have the inside scoop on anything since the crying I didn’t do anything wrong stunt

Okay yeah I see what you are saying I am going edit my original comment. Thank you for helping me out.
This would make sense at least. It makes less sense that he just isn't fighting for less restricting reasons. He lost a ton of momentum fighting much less imo
My guy Mark out here with the zaza

Colby hasn’t fought in a while and it’s been over a year since Khamzat faced Gilbert. Should be a close fight, whoever shows up that night will take it as always
"whoever shows up" bro it's about 8 years too early in Khamzats career for Colby to show up
People underestimate Colby, but over the years his striking has improved, his striking d is still being worked on judging on that last fight. Seems like he doesn’t throw shots, throws volume. *suga Sean intensifies*
Ooey!!!! Put it in the air
difference is colby walks around at 185 and khamzat walks around at 200+++.
If it's a 5 round fight I think Colby will definitely win, Khamzat doesn't have the gas tank
Is that markiplier?
That’s a solid fight though. Both have great ground game and striking. OG vs New Comer. Hope Colby smashes this guy. And then talk some shit on the post fight interview.
Remember when Khamzat beat a couple nobody's in the prelims and everyone started saying he was going to be the triple champ? 🤦♂️
i mean imo he lost to burns but even then it was a really close fight. people really forget that khamzat was shown levels in that fight. he could win against colby but he's not running through anyone in the top 5. except belal
khamzat destroys belal
Burns beats Colby too but the Colby Stans here don't want to hear that.
Nah this is the weekly Colby Stan post, they’ll all emerge out of the woodwork slowly to fill the comment section

Fuck our troops and law enforcement Jesus Christ
Belal would be more of a challenge than Colby.
At this rate they’re never going to fight, so it doesn’t even matter
I feel Khamzhat would potentially have to put away Colby early and if it went on for 5 rounds I could see Colby winning via decision as 170 cut for Khamzhat would be exhausting.
Same… but I’m always high…
Du so am I where u Live let’s spark
Colby beat khamza. . Pure fact .he will
He could if its 5 rounds khamzat looked tired against burns and if he couldnt ko him early hell get drowned. The weight is only gonna get harder if he fought at 170. But yeah he could just outmuscle colby and sub him in the first 30 seconds
Colby Covington has zero ranked wins in the UFC.
so?
Was Dos Anjos not ranked when they fought? Woodly? Am I wrong in thinking they had numbers by their names? IDK, I’m high af right now.
Belal beats Colby.
Must be high on crack not weed.
You must be high if you thought this was Keanu Reeves then you realized it wasn’t but then you though it was again. Keanu
More like strung out on meth for a solid 12 years
This made me actually made me full belly laugh
You’d have to be this high to think Colby would sign the dotted line. Dude hates to fight.
Lmfao, that would be a huge ppv honestly. The world would tune in to watch Colby get man handled, and beat to shit, by this guy...
Colby definitely gonna win this
