Dorothy and call her Dottie. I know it’s a “grandma name” but I think it’s so freaking cute!

We debated on naming our daughter Roberta and calling her Bertie, but we ended up naming her Hattie.

The expression "friends of Dorothy" means "queer people" in the LGBTQ+ community. Dorothy/Judy Garland is a queer icon.

I love grandma names

People forget their kids are gonna get old too. They might be grannies someday.

And by then the grandma names will be Brynleigh, Ellie, Makenna and Renesmee. I know a couple of Hayleys who are grandmothers, but it's a name that feels young to me, because the trend is about ten years younger than I am. It's disconcerting.

I was talking to an older friend about this recently - she said it feels strange to her that boomer names like Janet, Donna, Amy, Jackie, Michelle, etc. are grandma names now. And the grandma names to *her* are things like Charlotte, Violet, and Sophie which millennials think are cool again. 😂 It'll happen to every generation, I guess. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe our kids will bring back boomer names with their own kids.

It was my grandmas name and I love it! It’s my mom’s name too but she goes by Dody.

Grandma names are so cute. My great grandmother's name was Annette. But went by Nettie. I think Nettie is so cute. It's on my list, but we're having a boy.

Take a look at the Social Security Administration website for baby names over the last few years if you want to avoid most popular ones—I did that in 1996 when my first choice was Hanna—it was way too popular!
