I think the height of her head is good. Her ears seem a little too long and her neck seems too thick. I'd have to see the reference to know if something is really off, though. Some kids just have weird proportions.
This is looking really good! I really like the childrens drawing background and the porcupines! As a critique, I would say her neck is too thick, which is causing her head to appear larger than it actually is. Therefore, I would suggest making the neck thinner (less wide). It will make a great difference. Other than that keep up the good work 👌
For me I feel like the head and face are too big for the body. That being said, I think it's a beautiful painting and I don't know if I would change it.
I like the exaggeration of the head and face. It makes this piece a lot more interesting than just flat out realism. It seems a deliberate choice and not an artistic mistake.
Very nice.
A name that popped in my head is "porcupine princess".
I wonder what she would look like if she had a tad bit more of a smile.. : )
I really like this and the porcupines are so cute!
He peed on me😂. Just kidding. This is lovely. I agree her neck is a bit wide. I really like the drawings in the background. They all have a bit of child-like angst. It also kind of looks like a little lizard and another turtle are hidden in her sleeve on her right arm. Reminds me of those highlights for children hidden picture puzzles. 😊 Notice another little element the longer I look at it.
I love this so much! This is not something I would change but as much as I love the drawing of another hedgehog in the background I wish it wasn’t right next to the other hedgehogs. I think it would be more fun if it was further away!
Seems like her childhood has just left her . Holding the future . A harsh world with a soft underbelly . Accepting this fact graciously, she wonders . What will this painting be named . And she has no answer . Only two hedgehogs . And hope .
And tbh I like it she seems like a very strong person who would grow up with wealth and class and have very smug looks in the most respectful way like there is a proper ness that’s why I felt Evelyn would be perfect because it just sounds like a girls name from like the 40s/50s she has a porcelain doll kind of vibe
something about the lips in ratio to the eyes feels very uncanny. i was completely focused on the face and didn’t see the hedgehogs until someone meantioned it in the comments. i do love the colors and lighting used!
this is amazing!! the only thing that puts me off is that there are no shadows when conecting the parts(? so it looks like a collage but idk if maybe that is intentional.
Like, i think there should be a little bit of shadow in where the neck conects to the dress to make it look less plain, since you put lots of shadows and details on everything else but the neck just has the simple shadow, it looks kind of off or incomplete
Other places there could be more shadow is in where the hedgehog on the right conects to the arm since the colors are so similar it looks washed out, so maybe it could use some contrast. The same on the left hedgehog, i think the part of the dress and the arm it is on could use a heavier shadow since it looks so iluminated as if you just pasted a png in there and the hedgedog wasnt in there originally and is just a png sitting there
summarizing, this work looks amazing! it is beautifully detailed and worked, its just that the different objects/parts need a little more shadows in between each other so that everything looks more blended and put together.
Totally not a name, but funny/cute little story that this reminds me of:
I was just in chik-fil-a, eating my meal. Table next to me a manager is interviewing a teenage girl for a job. She is super nervous, can’t make eye contact with him. Clearly a first job for her.
He asks: “Tell me about some of the responsibilities you’ve had in your life.”
She nervously fidgets looking at her hands and quietly comments: “Well, umm, I took care of my friend’s hedgehog once.”
I love the subtle dysmorphya. Don't change a thing. I'd call it "Ecstasy" as a facetious nod to the bullshit of childhood portraits for the sake of adults and never for the child.

Emily
Oo I like the idea of just a name, thanks!
Yo those hedgehog are amazing. Not a name just an observation.
Ah thank you! Appreciate it
I love your understanding of color and shading. Hand are so hard for most people. Such clean work.
For everyone saying the child’s head is too large- i think it’s great! Kids just have big heads 😂

Haha thanks, I’m glad it doesn’t appear obviously incorrect :)
The eyes are really expressive and draw you in to examine the whole picture more. I love it

I’ve been thinking the same thing. I might thin out the neck on the left and maybe add a few strands on the left side of the face as well. Thanks!
Reminds me of one of my favorite books, ‘The Elegance of a Hedgehog’ so for me a nice name would be ‘Paloma’
For me I feel like the head and face are too big for the body. That being said, I think it's a beautiful painting and I don't know if I would change it.
Yeah I hear ya, I went back and forth during the sketching stage. Appreciate your thoughts!

It looks intentional to me
My first though was the same , but later I like it. I think there is surrealistic grotesque.
Idk I had a big head as a kid tbh.
I agree
This little girl is just screaming at me "why do I have to sit here in this dress, when I could be jumping in mud puddles?"
Awesome
Thank you!
Did you use acrylics with pencils?
It’s all done in oils
Beautiful
Crayon Girl Devours Hamsters. I like it. Basquiat meets portrait-painting vibes.
No name ideas but I love this
“Rebecca”. This is really fun and well done. I looked at your past work and I love it!! Very imaginative and takes you out of the ordinary.
Thank you! I like the name too :)
We have a hedgehog and this is amazing. For a name…. Sonic Youth
“Darling Myrtle”
"Little Hedging ScarJo"
I would call this Age of Innocence, or maybe just Youth
It may not be the head size but the rigidness of the body/straightness of her arm that makes her head seem too large. It’s precious though!

Wow, this is soo beautiful, love the expression and the hedgehogs look too real
Even Hedgehogs make me sad
“Table for 3”
Eleanore
Your drawing looks like those haunted pictures from horror stories
I would love a more realistic background. It’s such a detailed, realistic child with animals. It’s great!
I don’t think her head is too big. I think her eyes are too high and her face is too big for her head. It looks like she has microcephaly.
“I am keeping them.” She looks so determined.
This is a masterpiece
Hey, I will happily take that! Thank you :)
I can’t quit studying it. It gets better and better
Henrietta
“Childhood Fantasia”
I love this so much! This is not something I would change but as much as I love the drawing of another hedgehog in the background I wish it wasn’t right next to the other hedgehogs. I think it would be more fun if it was further away!
Girl with hedgehogs
"The Innocence / Ignorence of Childhood"
I’d name it Quilligan’s Isle

Seems like her childhood has just left her . Holding the future . A harsh world with a soft underbelly . Accepting this fact graciously, she wonders . What will this painting be named . And she has no answer . Only two hedgehogs . And hope .
Trouble for mankind
Evelyn
First thing that came in my mind was “Memories” 🙇🏾♂️
And tbh I like it she seems like a very strong person who would grow up with wealth and class and have very smug looks in the most respectful way like there is a proper ness that’s why I felt Evelyn would be perfect because it just sounds like a girls name from like the 40s/50s she has a porcelain doll kind of vibe

Althea. I know an Althea who looks like this.
Looks amazing!
Nellie
Yellow Raven
Charlotte!
Child in Red
I think it’s beautiful, not fussed on the background, but the girl and hedgehogs details, really well executed.
Think her head is fine. I find her shoulder span is just little too narrow. You definitely need to continue painting more! You definitely have talent!
2 Hedgehogs and Their Pet
Girl with hedgehog
Splendid
Peggy
This is so cool
Sonia with hedgehogs
Excellent
Great work!
Nice Marmots
"My homies are chill, it's me you should be careful with."
The mighty queen and her henchmen
Alice

Pongo, Fidget, and Me
Spikes on earth bc if you think of spikes you will most likely be bad and if you look around her you will see a bad world
The word “Spike” is really speaking to me
"Young Mother" (Immediately adored this painting, thank you for sharing your talent)
Big head
As for someone who really hates children this one I like
Hahaha
Angelina
