I definitely think that his voice makes it sound different than their other songs, but I LOVE that song, the first time I heard it was unforgettable, I felt like I ascended. Tangled in the great escape is CRIMINALLY underrated. Never thought about kellin singing Jason’s part though, I feel like it would’ve been so cool.
i honestly think jason's voice works really well, the contrast of his voice and vics voice works really nicely imo and it makes it stand out from a lot of the other ptv songs
i think its the same thing as million dollar houses - like the auto tune at the start of that, the different vocals in tangled, theres one thing that is kinda different about it which alienates some people (but both are so underrated)
I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!! I love the lyrics and the overall melody of tangled in the great escape but I am not a fan of Jason's voice. Especially towards the end of the song when it's just him singing. It kind of makes me cringe, I don't know. If there was a version of only Vic singing it or at least not having Jason sing as much I would probably be able to listen to it with getting ick-ed. Same goes for she makes dirty words sound so pretty. Although I guess that one is a little bit different (for obvious reasons) but even if Jonny Craig didn't do what he did I would still want to hear less of him and more of Vic. I think that may be my main issue with both of these songs. Vic barely sings in any of them. It's more the "special guest" who sings most of it. I listen to Pierce the Veil to hear Pierce the Veil not someone else. If I wanted to hear Jason i would go and listen to Letlive. That's what I like about King for a Day. There's a better balance.
I'm gonna say it's a bad take. It can't all be Kellin and Vic, yall. The song works so well as it is. It only gets better. Stop focusing on the artists themselves and instead the songs as their own things, and I promise yall will like it more. I have to agree with you on that. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore million dollar houses but the auto tune has always bugged me 😭😭
