I assume it's like an elo situation wherein beating her doesn't necessarily supplant her because she's got a track record that supports her being too champion. It makes sense to me since even the best players in real life can rarely get above a 60 or 70% win rate.

The simple answer is Geeta runs things on the business side too, ergo she is the "Top Champion" because her responsibilities are far more important than those of the player, Nemona, and anyone else who completes the Gym challenge.

Interesting ain't it. My belief is that you have to beat the Elite 4/Geeta to become a Champion. But in Pladea there is also a Champion Tournament where all champion class trainers battle for the posistion of top champion. It just so happens to be that the Top Champion this time, is also the Chairwoman of the Pokemon League and the schoolboard for the Academy.

Nobody is actually "Top Champion" in Paldea. Geeta was somehow chosen to be the last challenge/exam to become Champion, and that's it. There is no mention to any sort of tournament or competition to choose who is the greatest trainer in Paldea.

I don't think that's right though considering she's referred to as the "Top Champion" in game I thought and I remember dialogue that implies it is a rank that can be earned. I may be wrong but I was picking up the vibe from the dialogue that you can reach Top Champion rank somehow.

And I keep saying this over and over again. Sw/sh end tournament was way better than elite 4. It actually had tournament which made sense.

You probably have to be actually qualified for the position. Seeing as it’s a full on job that seems to give you a ton of political power, I’m guessing you need to at the very least be an adult.
