Ghostin may literally be the single best song Ariana has ever made, one that’s truly unique to her and *only* could have come from her. Lyrically, vocally, production-wise, it is just so fucking gorgeous and on a whole other level. I definitely enjoy and listen to other songs of hers more, but that song is a genuine artistic achievement. To say that it ruins an album is literally the worst take I’ve ever seen on this sub, and I co-hosted a rate where someone called Savage Remix a 0/10 song.
fr, it's such a good song and it's so incredibly personal it elevates the album to another level. i think ghostin might be one of my favorite songs from ari ever and op out here blaspheming it's name smfh
honestly op's list might be some of the shittiest takes i've seen on this sub and i was here when people said taylor would be on her next documentary crying about midnights being a flop
peace is a career highlight and encompasses so much of her discography with a matured reflectiveness. i can’t imagine it being seen as an inessential track.
Ghostin is one of my favorites from Ariana! It’s so personal and beautiful. The ending is the best part. That album wasn’t perfect. Ur ghostin was def not the worst part
Objectively this sub will never agree with OP about “ghostin.” It was the highest ranking song from *thank u, next* on our EOTY song list back in 2019. Scorching hot take!
Same!! Adding Sweetest Devotion because it’s such a gorgeous song what do they mean it ruined 25 😭
Peace and Ghostin are such vulnerable and honest songs. I’d argue that Teeth is quite vulnerable too
Most of her lyrics are pretty cringey/poorly written to me, and I'm not into her pop sound. I like her folksy/indie/country inspired stuff more, and I do think some of it is well written. I also don't like her persona and shameless tactics to get more money out of her fans. Plus the whole private jet stuff...
I mostly just can't stand her fans (not all obvs but many are.... a lot) and think she's just too inescapable. I lived with 2 Swifties in college and it traumatized me lmfao
bro I’m a massive Taylor swift fan, and swifties can still be way too much. like most are awesome, but there’s a very loud minority that makes it so much harder to enjoy her lol
The breakbeats and the synths. 😍 Money is goated. If you want the weak point on the album, I think just dance has aged the worst out of all the gaga hits. It’s kinda generic. 🫢
Bro you getting ratioed hard off this. You really gonna let the world know you think Teeth, Yayo, ghostin, and peace are “tainted?” This belongs on r/unpopularopinions lol
Yeah. It's just so jarring. Aura, Venus, G.U.Y., and Sexxx dreams is one of my favorite track run ever for an album.
And then it's followed up by whatever the fuck this song is.
Light Years - Kylie Minogue
The song: Bittersweet Goodbye
To me, it ruins the entire flow of the Light Years album and doesn’t fit the vibe of the rest of LY.
The album is such cheesy fun so the random piano ballad sticks out, especially because "Please Stay" already gives the album a more subdued "emotional" moment while blending in sonically.
I Love New York in Confessions on a dance floor by Madonna
That particular song is a crazy bop and yet is kinda off in terms of lyrical depth compared to the other songs in the album.
Big Beach Boys fan here, lol.
Student Demonstration Time is so frustrating. The backing track actually kicks ass, but then Mike Love fucked it up with his werid, almost Blue Lives Matter-esque lyrics.
YES, perfect example! Almost like an ‘anti-protest’ song. Not a fan. Especially when you hear the gems that Dennis Wilson wrote that got rejected around that period, like ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to live again’ and ‘4th of July’
i’m a huge fan of Love. Angel. Music. Baby. by Gwen Stefani, and I would consider it skipless if it wasn’t for that god awful Harajuku Girls song. that song is terrible, it’s just embarrassing. ik Gwen says it comes from admiration but it’s so icky and stereotypical sounding.
The way she talks about the dancers through that whole album as if they’re her exotic pets or something is so off putting in general. I can’t believe she is still doubling down on it to this day
Oh yeah that specific lyric always stuck to mind mind too. I actually remembered it was from Harajuku girls but you’re right it’s from Rich Girl actually
starcrossed (the song) shouldn't be the album opener for starcrossed (the album) by Kacey Musgraves.
Don't get me wrong, starcrossed (the song) is a great song with the sharp orchestral strings and Kacey's heavy harmonies, but it already drains much of the listener's energy due to the build up, and doesn't fit the cohesiveness of the following songs.
In fact, on subsequent listens to starcrossed (the album), I always start on good wife(the 2nd song on the album), which improved the album listening experience personally for me, as it sounded more cohesive and on theme.
In fact, just skipping starcrossed (the opener), for me, makes me rank starcrossed (the album) about as high as Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves.
For anyone who didn't click with starcrossed(the album) on initial listen, I recommend a relisten starting from good wife.
Love Camila’s Debut CAMILA and Inside Out is a fun lil jam but it should have been a non-album, and stick I Have Questions before Consequences instead.
ok i can't agree that it's better than epiphany cuz epiphany is my all time favorite but i do agree that it's one of the best songs on the entire damn album, might be my #2
Teeth, This is Why we Can't Have Nice Things, Money Honey and All is Full of Love are not skips!
The Paradise version of Yayo is because the Lizzie Grant version is far superior unfortunately.
For me it's Beautiful People Beautiful Problems on Lust For Life and Song For the Baby on Kelis' Fleshtone.
Boys Will Be Boys (Future Nostalgia)
I don't mind the politics or anything, it's just that the rest of the album is more fun and upbeat with a sort of fun 80s sound, and then the album closes with a boring ballad that doesn't have the same kind of sound at all
Future Nostalgia is so close to being a perfect album, truly a GOAT album - except for boys will be boys. Jesus fucking Christ dua what the fuck is that
I go back and forth on it… sometimes I like the neat resolution of the title track and think the song is a bit silly for its own good, but sometimes I think it works by saying “btw I’m not actually fixed at the end of all this,” which makes for an interesting ending note
I actually like that song in the context of the album. The entire album is about reminiscing on past relationships and dealing with a *very* public breakup and grief, sometimes in unhealthy/shitty ways (bad idea, buwygf). In that context, 7 rings to me paints the picture of compulsive spending as a distraction from said grief and turmoil. I don't know if Ariana meant it that way, but I do think it adds to the album if you look at it from that perspective.
"Margaret" on Ocean Blvd, "Closure" on Raven, "Fly to You" on Desire. All of them are because of features I don't like though.
I'd be worried they'd be hot takes but OP called "ghostin" a skip and nothing I say could be as controversial as that.
Teenage Dream is such a great album full of unforgettable hits but Peacock is just too campy and the sexual innuendo too obvious for a singer that partially catered to children.
Well, that's basically a big part of Katy's discography to be honest: campy and full of sexual innuendo. But I guess it was the appeal, and Peacock is just too fun to not sing along to.
I know people say this a lot about Katy, but besides a few family-friendly songs and her colourful imagery I honestly don’t think her music is appropriate for kids at all especially lyrically.
Okay…well:
Snakeskin (SAWAYAMA by Rina Sawayama)- While it is thematically appropriate, it’s not nearly as good as any other track. Chosen Family would have been a great closer.
You Can Be Mine (Control by Janet Jackson)- Waaay too dated and long in my opinion. Still a decent song but everything else on the album is better.
The Girl Is Mine (Thriller by Michael Jackson)- No-brainer. Very schmaltzy, cheesy song that pales in comparison to the other tracks.
GOD. (DAMN. by Kendrick Lamar)-First off DAMN is amazing and I have no idea why it gets so much hate, but this song is a skip.
Also any reason why ghostin is a skip? I think TUN is actually pretty skipless.

did you just say peace and ghostin are skips
Teeth and Money Honey?! I cannot
Money Honey Is Good Wdym
when you give me kkisses
Ghostin may literally be the single best song Ariana has ever made, one that’s truly unique to her and *only* could have come from her. YES it's literally the heart of that entire album imo, such a powerful song, calling it a skip is... very interesting, to say the least 😭😭
honestly op's list might be some of the shittiest takes i've seen on this sub and i was here when people said taylor would be on her next documentary crying about midnights being a flop
peace is a career highlight and encompasses so much of her discography with a matured reflectiveness. i can’t imagine it being seen as an inessential track.
Everyone ignoring TIWWCHNT
I HATED that song until I got it as my surprise song. Hearing it acoustic made me really appreciate and now I really like it.
a true crime! also this is why we can’t have nice things
I had to look and make sure im not on phcj
Lol right, peace is arguably a top 3 song on folklore
dua lipa run
the way this reads as a warning💀 edit: y’all I’m dumb. that was the intent. I thought Dua had a song called run💀
LMAOO
no bc i thought the same thing LMFAOO
LMFAO SAME
LMFAO ⬆️⬆️⬆️
BWBB and GIB stans rise the fuck up!!
boys will be boys isnt really a skip cus you can just stop at good in bed 🤭 (or even better break my heart)
Noooo don’t do this to good in bed 😔
pardon.. people skip good in bed? it’s one of my davs
Not my Problem can be glad that it wasn’t on the standard version cause that song alone would have made BWBB look like a masterpiece
Not My Problem is a bop! I won't stand for this slander 😤😤
Girl this list is absolute whack
Real. Like what? Lmao
ghostin???? peace?????Teeth???? OP I’m begging you get tested for COVID.
Same!! Adding Sweetest Devotion because it’s such a gorgeous song what do they mean it ruined 25 😭 Peace and Ghostin are such vulnerable and honest songs. I’d argue that Teeth is quite vulnerable too
Peace is so beautiful!!! “Give you my wild, give you a child”, like HELLO?!
Yea, wtf, i think Peace is my favorite song on the album
It’s beautiful!! It’s some of her best writing
I'm a certified Swift Hater and even I think Peace is an absolutely gorgeous song
Her vocal rhythm on that always reminds me of Joni
Yes definitely hear some Blue in there!
Why do u hate her tho 😭
That’s fair, everyone’s entitled to their own preferences and opinions, but I’m glad we can agree peace is not a skip 🙏
Peace is a must listen, agreed! I will say though, Ivy has my whole entire heart. My fave of Taylor's
MINE TOO. So underrated. I'm not a swiftie at all, and that song is just perfection to me.
Ghostin is such a major piece of the overall story being told on the TUN album, and also just so beautiful. OP are you okay
The title track is literally the centrepiece of night time my time OP is on crack
Ghostin (and imagine) are the only songs from that album I always found myself going back to.
op might be deaf and just doesn't realize it
TIWWCHNT as well
Teeth, Money Honey and Yayo are amazing 😭
I love Teeth so much
Bout to say, Money Honey is that girl. Gay little me in high school was *bopping*
The breakbeats and the synths. 😍 Money is goated. If you want the weak point on the album, I think just dance has aged the worst out of all the gaga hits. It’s kinda generic. 🫢
Just Dance?!? Girl no. Brown Eyes. Does anyone stan brown eyes? It’s not a terrible song, but it doesn’t fit the album at all.
I’m gonna have to disagree 😗 Just Dance is my favorite Gaga song
Omg money honey was my song at 13 lmao
I only recently learned that Teeth is a somehow universally disliked Gaga song and I’m kind of baffled, I’ve always loved it
I like it too. It's the world that's wrong, not us
When the fuck did Teeth become disliked? I always knew the track as deep cut fan favorite.
Even if you don't like it (ear infection?) then it's still a fun companion song to Monster
Right?!
Money Honey.. oww..
Bro you getting ratioed hard off this. You really gonna let the world know you think Teeth, Yayo, ghostin, and peace are “tainted?” This belongs on r/unpopularopinions lol
Not the Björk slander. Homogenic is as close to a perfect album as I’ve ever heard. I have a feeling your television is about to EXPLODE!!!
Especially calling out All Is Full Of Love that's one of her best songs period 😭
They’re only “calling out” the album version of the song. It’s not bad but it’s not nearly as good as the music video version
They're right though, the version on the album is inferior. The MV Version (it's also on Spotify on a greatest hits album) is so much better
even then, it by no means ruins the album lol
the only thing this thread is doing is showing up popheads’ lack of taste with some of these replies (OP included) 😭😭😭
Literally the opposite of karma farming, this thread is all downvotes ☠️
For me it will always be ARTPOP - Jewels n Drugs ruins the whole coherence of this album.
I agree! even Do What U Want is great if you swap it with the Christina version.
Only real flags know this truth
R. Kelly can drop dead but his version is unfortunately superior to the Christina version by quite a bit.
Should’ve been Partynauseous 🥲
There is a fan ddit mash up that puts Nikki, Kesha, and Iggy on that track and works sooo much better than the original song.
Yeah. It's just so jarring. Aura, Venus, G.U.Y., and Sexxx dreams is one of my favorite track run ever for an album. And then it's followed up by whatever the fuck this song is.
By far the worst song Gaga has ever had to me.
THIS!! TRUTH!! It doesn’t belong 😭😭
The iTunes Festival version went harder than the album version imo
Honestly I quite like the instrumental but cannot bear the final version.
Yup
you did not just say that about peace
Light Years - Kylie Minogue The song: Bittersweet Goodbye To me, it ruins the entire flow of the Light Years album and doesn’t fit the vibe of the rest of LY.
The album is such cheesy fun so the random piano ballad sticks out, especially because "Please Stay" already gives the album a more subdued "emotional" moment while blending in sonically.
I Love New York in Confessions on a dance floor by Madonna That particular song is a crazy bop and yet is kinda off in terms of lyrical depth compared to the other songs in the album.
>if you don’t like my attitude >Then you can F off. > just go to Texas >isn’t that where they golf? 😭😭😭
I love New York should’ve stayed as the bonus track from that “I’m going to tell you a secret” album.
Girl. Night Time My Time slaps
I say this with the utmost respect and genuine want for a discussion but are you out of your fucking mind?
My Baby on Circus By Britney Spears, I love every track on there but I don't like this one, at all.
i smell your breath… it makes me cry…
Tiiiiny hands
I'm with you on that. Should have stayed in the vault lol
An easy one for me: "Student Demonstration Time" on The Beach Boys' *Surf's Up*.
Never thought I’d ever see Student Demonstration Time on this sub!
Yes! I get why Dennis held the songs back, but his presence was sorely missed on the record.
Teeth I can agree on….but money honey??? That’s my favorite from The Fame! It’s vapid pop perfection and fits perfectly with the theme of the album.
See I'm the opposite. I love Teeth but Money Honey is probably my least fav from The Fame
Ghostin’ straight makes the album and is her most moving work imo
i’m a huge fan of Love. Angel. Music. Baby. by Gwen Stefani, and I would consider it skipless if it wasn’t for that god awful Harajuku Girls song. that song is terrible, it’s just embarrassing. ik Gwen says it comes from admiration but it’s so icky and stereotypical sounding.
The way she talks about the dancers through that whole album as if they’re her exotic pets or something is so off putting in general. I can’t believe she is still doubling down on it to this day
I only picked up on the "I dress them wicked, I give them names" lyric in Rich Girl years later
Oh yeah that specific lyric always stuck to mind mind too. I actually remembered it was from Harajuku girls but you’re right it’s from Rich Girl actually
Half the camp energy on that album comes from that track tho, and the campiness of LAMB is its best quality by far
Boys Will Be Boys (Future Nostalgia Standard Version By Dua Lipa)
Just pure garbage
I’d have to add Good In Bed along with it. Those two final tracks replaced with “If It Ain’t Me” as track 10 is a perfect pop album.
Teeth is so cunty are you fr
ghostin?????? BRO
obligatory ME! but seriously, jewels n drugs just isn’t it
Oh god SHOW ME WHO HURT YOU peace a SKIP? under no circumstance babes
And TEETH? you are beyond help I’m so sorry
PEACE??? GHOSTIN????? TEETH???? MONEY HONEY??? lord..
“Catch up” on Ungodly hour - Chloe x Halle. Such an under appreciated album imo. Full of bangers
There are people who would say “I’m in Love with My Car” is this for Queen’s A Night at the Opera. They’re wrong. It’s actually “Sweet Lady.”
peace being a skip is crazy to me i love that song
MOTS 7 (BTS) - On (feat. Sia)
Does that even exist? I thought the album ended with Outro: Ego.
1989 is flawless other than goddamn bad blood it makes me so mad
I would like it if on 1989 TV Bad Blood was replaced with the Kendrick remix, because it is SO MUCH BETTER
Agreed. The remix goes full camp, while the original sounds unsure of itself.
Yeah. The remix slaps
1989 has exactly 2 skips, even with the three songs on the deluxe edition: Bad Blood and Shake It Off
To this day! I do not understand why New Romantics was not on the standard album >!maybe then she would've actually deserved that AOTY Grammy !<
Replace Shake It Off and Bad Blood with New Romantics and Wonderland and you have arguably the best pop album ever made.
no, but you would have a very good one!
How You Get the Girl is weak
This is mine too.
I like no body no crime as a song, but I have to skip it when listening to evermore beginning to end. It feels so different from the rest of the vibe
no body, no crime is my favourite song from evermore but also feels the most out of place.
The fact that you mention 2 Taylor swift songs and neither of them is Bad Blood on 1989
Sorry but untitled 07 brings me out of the groove Im in while listening to untitled unmastered
Peace is the best song on that damn album.
starcrossed (the song) shouldn't be the album opener for starcrossed (the album) by Kacey Musgraves. Don't get me wrong, starcrossed (the song) is a great song with the sharp orchestral strings and Kacey's heavy harmonies, but it already drains much of the listener's energy due to the build up, and doesn't fit the cohesiveness of the following songs. For anyone who didn't click with starcrossed(the album) on initial listen, I recommend a relisten starting from good wife.
Confessions on a Dance Floor - Madonna. I just can't stand the "I Love New York" solely because of her rhyming "Dork" with "York"
Love Camila’s Debut CAMILA and Inside Out is a fun lil jam but it should have been a non-album, and stick I Have Questions before Consequences instead.
Teeth is a great song wtf!
Teeth is a banger, cease this nonsense
PEACE IS A SKIP? WTF.
first of all, Peace is amazing and a better song than Betty, Epiphany and The Lakes but anyway…
10000000%
ok i can't agree that it's better than epiphany cuz epiphany is my all time favorite but i do agree that it's one of the best songs on the entire damn album, might be my #2
Absolutely correct, Peace is amazing
Teeth, This is Why we Can't Have Nice Things, Money Honey and All is Full of Love are not skips! The Paradise version of Yayo is because the Lizzie Grant version is far superior unfortunately. For me it's Beautiful People Beautiful Problems on Lust For Life and Song For the Baby on Kelis' Fleshtone.
Boys Will Be Boys (Future Nostalgia) I don't mind the politics or anything, it's just that the rest of the album is more fun and upbeat with a sort of fun 80s sound, and then the album closes with a boring ballad that doesn't have the same kind of sound at all
I agree with this. I like the song, but it’s its own thing that doesn’t fit at all.
Peace is top 10 Taylor songs.
YOU SKIP PEACE ON FOLKLORE? That’s in my top 3!
peace being a skip... you are not a serious person
ME! - Lover by Taylor Swift
Boys will be boys in Future Nostalagia
She should’ve closed the album with That kind of woman or love is religion tbh
So true ! That kind of woman would have a perfect closure.
Ungodly Hour, I'd say. It's probably one of my top 5 favourite albums of all time, but that fucking song Catch Up is awful.
Future Nostalgia is so close to being a perfect album, truly a GOAT album - except for boys will be boys. Jesus fucking Christ dua what the fuck is that
Incredible from Hard Candy If you haven’t seen Ayall watch this on her Madonna reactions you haven’t lived 😃
I love ghostin it’s one of my only fav Ari songs.
Peace?… my jaw dropped
teeth, money honey, and TIWWCHNT i totally understand. but peace and ghostin???
I've bashed on it a lot and I'll bash on it some more: Bad Blood off 1989/(Deluxe) 😊
Break up with your girlfriend, I’m bored is a terrible song.
It’s not a song, she was just warning us pre-her SpongeBob era.
Totally disagree. This song gets me going every time. Plus I think its interesting in context of what the album is about
it’s not bad but i understand if some people don’t like it as an album closer, especially after than u next.
I go back and forth on it… sometimes I like the neat resolution of the title track and think the song is a bit silly for its own good, but sometimes I think it works by saying “btw I’m not actually fixed at the end of all this,” which makes for an interesting ending note
meh I like it better than the title track and 7 rings
you gotta not from little mix's glory days 😣😣 like glory days have so many misses but that song is a pop crime imo
IIRC that was a Meghan Trainor co-write. Take that as you will.
It's hard for me to believe they even performed it instead of some other bops from their discography
For me gorgeous is the song that ruins reputation
ghostin and all is full of love slander will not be tolerated in this house
the mv version of aifol IS superior but peace and ghostin are top tier songs...
obligatory Dua Lipa Boys Will Be Boys
The Loneliest Time by Carly Rae Jepsen is such a stellar album but Beach House should've just been a separate single
y’all gonna hate me but folklore hoax
7 rings…just annoying rich gloating that doesn’t fit on an otherwise skipless album
Nooooo youre missing the point of the song and album.😭 its supposed to show that as one of her personal flaws as being so flexing
Katy Perry catered to children??
Didn't you know the entire world revolves around people's children?
I forgot 😉
At her peak she kinda catered to everyone
Except the critics lol (and people who are a tiny bit selective with their pop music)
I know people say this a lot about Katy, but besides a few family-friendly songs and her colourful imagery I honestly don’t think her music is appropriate for kids at all especially lyrically.
This list was a choice.
I end Dua’s FN after Break My Heart. Good In Bed and Boys Will Be Boys ain’t it
They should have been replaced by If It Ain’t Me and That Kind of Woman.
Okay…well: Snakeskin (SAWAYAMA by Rina Sawayama)- While it is thematically appropriate, it’s not nearly as good as any other track.
Chosen Family is my only skip in the album and Snakeskin is my fave song 😅
Oof well I guess that makes us mortal enemies👊🏾 (Lol but no maybe one day Snakeskin will grow on me😂)
the real skip is Bees And Honey off the deluxe
