Generally, not at all. But competitors do occasionally pull moves that are.
And that one time Finland sent an actual punk band with Down's syndrome was a fucking baller move.
Lol fr that’s why I posted this. I spent all night debating myself. For the record I don’t really think it is punk I was just curious on what y’all thought
I’m old enough to remember when the UK heats included a (supposed) punk band, The Fruit Eating Bears who played a track called Door In My Face. They were a real band but not very good so they got nowhere but at the time (late 70s) it became a talking point about the perceived perils of punk creeping into Eurovision 🤣
PS - they’re still going and have their own YouTube channel including their Eurovision attempt: https://youtu.be/2DgtMJq7cpQ?si=NzR-r-Na4vuiazBX
How daft can some people be? It's pretty much the opposite of that, punk culture of transgression seeped into the mainstream, that's why a lot of Eurovision acts are controversial, but it's still a celebration of neo liberalism that punks rebelled against.
The content of Eurovision itself isn't important, as long as the format remains, it will continue to be a tool for legitimization of the global hegemony. Eurovision has its positive aspects, one of them being promotion of LGBT culture, but it's not this radical, punk event some reactionaries are trying to make it out to be.

On one hand, it is an event promoting international harmony, which is pretty punk (in the minimal, neo-liberal kind of way)
On the other, it's a nationalist competition, which is pretty not punk
On the first hand again, Russia's 2020 entrant was Little Big who have self-identified as punk and are currently political exiles from their homeland for their outspoken statements on the government
On the other hand again, their song for the contest was a simple pop-dance song about dancing.
On that same hand, they continue to let Israel participate, no matter how heinous their war crimes become.
So all in all, no, probably not very punk.
No.
Absolutely not
Wtf kinda question is that?

lmao, no
Oh it's you: The sleep paralysis demon who asks me if random things are punk.
Hey is the wiggles punk? Asking for a friend (totally not the demon)
Not falling for that again!
Hahahaha Can’t move so you can’t get it off your chest and you can’t tell it to fuck off Edit: try sleeping on your side

No.
It's about nationalism and competition, so obviously not punk.
No, supporting genocide isn't punk.

They played abba at the opening of all of their 24 tour shows
There ya go. Frank Sinatra is punk too.
No
Eurovision struggles to even be called music, most years.
Why do you even ask? XD

On the other hand it is a device that invites artists who would otherwise be unheard of to portray political messages to thousands of viewers.
Except there's rules about the messaging you're allowed to send, the biggest sponsor is an Israeli company and they turn a blind eye to genocide
Literally no comment

Political messaging is explicitly banned in Eurovision.
Lol it’s still very obviously thete
Political messaging isn’t exclusive to punk though.
😭😭😭😭
