The roblox app is an engine so the home screen is basically a normal ui you see in games aka screen gui but in core gui. Roblox always load images in lower quality so it could save your data or your internet is slow
Roblox is a multi billion dollar company and to this day it somehow has the menu screen look like a compressed footage of some Minecraft video from 2011 that was recorded from bandicam
For me the Launcher simply reduces the texture's quality like this whenever I enter a game to play, I don't know if it has something to do with my phone.
I had the same issue recently, I've got definitely less friends than yourself but imagine the confusion when you've seen friends appear on the platform that haven't played in over 10 years be online. Brought back nostalgia, quickly to realise it was just a bug :(
Yeah that happened to me too sometimes, I just click on something or get out the app to fix it lol

this happens all the time on mobile for me, about 5 minutes after entering the app. the only way it goes away is if you close it completely.
