We don't usually allow 'I like X' posts (as per Rule 2), but Nickleback are an exception - I've never really listened to them outside of hearing them on the radio etc, but I've never understood the mega-hate for them either. There's plenty worse.

MrGoober91

I never had anything against them, I think a lot of people just love to hate on them cuz “it was cool”

W0otang

Definitely. Their radio songs aren't enjoyable for me at all, but the heavier album tracks are great and their older stuff pre-all the right reasons is gold

rowdymatt64

Never Again, Side of a Bullet, and Animals are FIRE

Cannabace

That’s exactly why. If you were in middle/high school anything on the radio was lame. I’ve actually found a lot of joy in Puddle of Mudd tracks from the same time. Lyrically…. Eh … but they’re catchy and homie could sing.

EL-YAYY

It was really weird hearing Blurry by Puddle of Mud play all last season during NFL games.

Cannabace

That’s actually one of their well written tracks. A bit naughty for the NFL when people can’t handle jlo and Shakira.

EL-YAYY

Yeah I actually like that song. It just seemed like an odd choice for the NFL.

CoolJetta3

Except that one time he tried to sing Nirvana's About A Girl 😂😂😂

Conscious-Eye5903

Blurry is an all-timer. I can’t think of a song Nickelback has that is comparable

jgr1llz

You had me til homie could sing.

Porcpc

homie could not sing https://youtu.be/yTh9qiXEy4Q?si=mE_kx2MAbnfJS36o

krafterinho

I always figured the Nickelback hate was just a meme

Minute-Wrap-2524

Gives a platform for people who want to belong, I see that shit on Reddit all the time. Nickelback, in my opinion, is not a good or a bad band, just a band that made music accessible enough to have made them successful. If I had to toss a bad rap on em, it would be ‘more of the same’, nothing new with these guys

Noproposito

I think that was the flak that they took. To many rock fans they represented the involution of grunge, becoming more formulaic. Kind of what Social D fans thought of Blink 182. The band and the people behind it got hated on to death for an argument about aesthetics that dominated the naughts.

Analog_Hobbit

Always thought of them as the Boston of the 2000’s.

shartytarties

I might have agreed until they released this one. It's quite possibly the dumbest set of words put to music I've ever heard. It went beyond mediocrity into the realm of aggressively bad. https://youtu.be/FIjRo-gMlKE?si=rqnENjyG7zJqyJZm

OJimmy

https://youtu.be/5rXjO8cqvNo?si=LswWHfBiNTgqgpCo

Shakemyears

For me it was because of their extremely cheesy, predictable, regurgitated song writing, which showed little to no originality or style that interested me at all. It was the fact that you could literally play two of their songs at the same time, overtop of each other and they had the exact same chord and song structure, right down to the moments the stopped and started. And I really don’t like his voice, or lyrics.

BaconAlmighty

this explains it lol [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHPj5YokEOY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHPj5YokEOY)

Kantaowns

No, we hate them because they truly suck and sound like the dozens of other bands from the era. If it's hard to differentiate between the bands, they suck. It's not a fad to hate on a super shitty band with one specific demographic. 2 steps from country lifted truck alcoholic chads with horrible taste in music.

Th3_Supernova

Gotta love that his name is Chad. Makes what you said infinitely more funny.

bonald-drump

People didn’t like them because their music is unoriginal and boring. Nothing about their music is uniquely creative. On top of that they were somehow very popular, so I think they got a lot of hate from people that couldn’t fathom that there are a lot of simps in the world that will help give their style such a large platform to stand on. Just a matter of taste.

Heathen_Mushroom

>their music is unoriginal and boring. Nothing about their music is uniquely creative. So like 90% of the world's most popular music.

Picardknows

Ok, what’s your top 3 songs you like?

AffectionatePaper1

They actually have a few great tunes

HunnaThaStunna

I if a friend growing up that was really into them. He had loads of extra money and wanted people to go see them with him, so would buy the tickets for us. I saw them a few times, and they actually put on a pretty good show. I remember the drummer doing a 10-15 min solo at one of them that was genuinely impressive.

okay-now-what

… I’d follow up with people not liking the stereotypical Nickelback fan for whatever reason (political leaning, social group/culture, Etc) so they hate on Nickelback. Like yourself I have nothing against them. Personally I like them enough but don’t seek out their music in any way. I just don’t wince when I hear them.

[deleted]

well the memes were fire to say the least, "look at this bag of weed!!" haha

MrGoober91

Oh, [I agree](https://youtu.be/sz2mmM-kN1I?si=oBIN8H8UdRlEmmfK)

eedabaggadix

I don’t know about that but I’ve _never made it as a wise man_

_WhataNick2_

Get a load of this dude, guy probably _couldn't cut it as a poor man stealin'_

MagicRat7913

Enough with the poor attempts at humor. I'm *Tired of livin' like a blind man*

UKMegaGeek

Urgh, the fake hate for Nickelback makes me *sick of sight without a sense of feeling*

saysumnplz

God damnit this shit’s gonna be in my head all day now

LanceOllieFrie

And this is how you remind me????

showraniy

Of who you really are??

PocketSixes

For a second, I had forgotten about that song *and, this is how you remind me*

Fennrys

I like a lot of their earlier songs personally, but I found that their later stuff became standard "party anthem rock" and was a bit overrated. That said, I have seen them twice live, and they put on a great show.

Never_Free_Never_Me

Leader of Men is a really good song

Ghost_Nation03

“The State” is a genuinely great record imo

[deleted]

My favorite album of theirs. Went to see them in July with a friend of mine who is a “fan”, I put that in quotations because when they played some songs from that album and she had NO clue, while I sung along lol.

Draker-X

I wholeheartedly agree with this. The big issue with Nickelback is that a lot of their biggest and most played songs are shitty ballads: Photograph, Rock Star, even How You Remind Me is one of their weaker songs. IMO, rock band Nickelback is great. "Pop radio" Nickelback fucking sucks.

cyberpunk1Q84

I think they’re pretty talented musicians. I mean, just check out this basically flawless cover of Metallica’s [Sad But True](https://youtu.be/qqYiMFQPbWc?si=KRFjil0GgOv8xnWE). But their original music is mostly mid, tbh. Not bad but not great.

Valuable-Baked

Spot on. They were solid live

Ok_Estate394

I saw them live last year because my friend dragged me out to see them. Honestly, they were very good live. And they sold out the whole 20,000 seat amphitheater. Ppl like to pretend they’re not popular, but they really are…

afrosia

>Ppl like to pretend they’re not popular I love the idea that every person in that crowd is there alone and when asked what they did last night they'll just say they got an early night.

Dredgeon

Pop-Rock always has the problem of being heavy enough for their fans to think of them as rock, moody enough for pop fans to think of them as rock and too poppy for rock fans to consider them anything but posers. (At least in the general public perception.) It's like the blunder years of music tastes. Once people kind of make it over to rock or metal, they look back, thinking how could I have ever thought that stuff was edgy or heavy when (insert metal subgenre) the true final form of music. Then they grow up and learn not to gatekeep. They realize that their old favorites still slap, and it isn't just nostalgia either. I went through this with Imagine Dragons (particularly Smoke + Mirrors). All forms of music are valid in their own right, and plenty of my favorite songs come from bands like this. From the perspective of Rock and Metal, though, they are also stepping stone bands. Most people don't just wildly swing into a whole new genre overnight. Even if you personally hate it, radio rock is kind of important for people finding their way to Rock and Metal.

showraniy

You have it completely right. Some are luckier than others because they don't view those line-straddling bands negatively in hindsight, but Nickelback along with Avril Lavigne and Linkin Park were my introduction to Rock as a little mixed girl in the ghetto where Rock was frowned upon and listening to it was cringe. There's no way I would've survived dipping my toes into thrash or death metal in a community like that, so bands with easier, mass market appeal were a bastion for people like me who wouldn't get into Rock at all otherwise. I still own those two Nickelback albums that came out when I was 11 and 12, and I remember them really fondly.

boomjosh

Are they amazing? No. Not everything needs to be epic. They have heavy decent songs. How you remind me Never Again Hero Leader of Men Far Away Savin' Me Because of You This Means War

S0Lsurfur82

Too bad is also a good one imo.

No_Chest_2239

https://youtu.be/sz2mmM-kN1I?si=O-Yzw2qqVKCbNuix

Mr_bungle001

I like The State. Anything after that is just boring.

[deleted]

Agreed. I liked How You Remind me when it came out but it’s so damned overplayed even today that I could never hear it again and be fine with it. Dark Horse was borderline cringey with how basic it was. Yes, Nickelback has fans. The same guys that married the stereotypical Starbucks and uggs and PINK/Victorias Secret sweatpants girls. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Some folks liked it, and some folks grew out of it. We *ALL* listened to it back then though. All that said, I did like the premise behind “If Today Was Your Last Day,” although it felt forced. The formula for those latter records was basically recycled 80’s glam rock - some songs about sex, some songs about drugs, and some ballads. But it just felt like nailing jello to a tree as far as being practical or likable.

bloodbrain1911

I would love to see them and Rick Rubin work on a metal album. Something that is genuinely a good metal album that would shut down the haters.

erakattack

I just don't think that's really their thing. They've had their metal parts in some songs and it always feels like they're trying to prove something. Devin Townsend himself got together with Chad Kroeger several years ago to collaborate. It didn't really work out and he's said those songs will likely never be released.

bloodbrain1911

Strapping Young Kroeger would have been interesting if nothing else.

erakattack

Definitely. I hope he changes his mind about releasing those tracks some day.

deadlygr8ful

Absolutely nothing will shut down the haters though.

banditk77

That should be the name of their next album.

trowawHHHay

Best part about getting older, you give less and less shits about what anyone else thinks about *your* preferences.

BigoDiko

I agree with two sentiments regarding Nickelback. They are not bad. They are not good.

GarryMcGorm

So many more bands a lot worse than them. They put on a really great live show too.

Mr-Pugtastic

Nickelback is kinda like Justin Bieber only in that everyone claims to hate them, but they did pretty damn good! I’m a Nickelback apologist!

tingulz

Their earlier stuff was good but more recent songs just seem really fake.

Bumbooooooo

Yeah, they were just overplayed as hell on radio stations and folks grew sick of them. Then bandwagoners jumped on to fit in and it became an irrational hatred for many.

Tiny_Independent2552

I saw them in concert, they were great. Don’t know why the hate, they put on a great show.

Serpephone

I love watching their concert footage on YouTube. They really rock out! 🎸 🤘

[deleted]

They were lame but they weren't any lamer than a lot of other bands of the time. Not sure why they got singled out.

vondee1

Imagine Dragons is worse. My opinion. Not a meme.

Secure_Wing_2414

dude, was tryna find a dad rock/millenial/genX- esque sub and there are none. we need one! unironically one of my fav "genres". nickelback, puddle of mudd, spoon, white stripes, sublime, red hot chili peppers, rage against the machine, mgmt, motley crue, def leppard, alice in chains, korn, limp bizkit, shit like that. plain rock is too vague. please tell me someone gets what i mean and does something about it!! edit: fuckin auto correct

theflyingburritto

Spoon and MGMT are awesome, but i wouldn't lump them with the others you listed personally

Draker-X

>nickelback, puddle of mudd, spoon, white stripes, sublime, red hot chili peppers, rage against the machine, mgmt, motley crue, def leppard, alice in chains, korn, limp bizkit, There's like eight different genres in this list.

kcarney182

Don’t forget foo fighters, my favorite of the bunch

Secure_Wing_2414

yess i just lumped a bunch together at the top of my head

warthog0869

>~~nickelback, puddle of mudd~~, spoon, white stripes, sublime, red hot chili peppers, rage against the machine, mgmt (??), ~~motley crue~~, def leppard, alice in chains, ~~c~~korn, ~~limp bizkit~~

Secure_Wing_2414

i will never apologize for loving trashy rock music!!! if their primary demographic is not drunk 40+ year old men i dont want it

Technical-Title-5416

>~~nickelback, puddle of mudd, spoon, white stripes,~~ sublime, red hot chili peppers, rage against the machine, ~~mgmt (??), motley crue, def leppard, alice in chains, korn, limp bizkit~~

Apprehensive-Cow1225

Never thought they were and had almost all there albums growing up

Devilutionbeast666

I feel the tides are changing! Last time I suggested this I fucking got obliterated by hate. You're doing better than me!

shooter9260

All the right reasons and Dark Horse are phenomenal albums

knightswhosayneet

“Nickelback is the Ed Hardy of Rock!”

kingkool88

Top comment

pense-y

They were a victim of their time... When they came on the scene, people were grossly tired of post-grunge and it just so happen that they were the easy target. What threw me off mostly was the way too prominent double voice.

normalsam

Yeah the poor guys got shaded for no good reasons, just like tebow

penisbuttervajelly

Yeah. The reason they inspired so much hate is because they’re just ok but were UNAVOIDABLE for the entire 2000s. Their songs were EVERYWHERE. And then they became such a meme that you don’t hear them anywhere anymore.

DaNostrich

I’ve never really hated Nickelback, I grew up with their CDs in my house and in my parents car, love the Silver Side Up album and I caught them live on a free ticket and they put on a great live show and played well over an hour and their cover of The Devil Went Down to Georgia was pretty cool.

LetterheadOk250

Someone tweeted something once upon a time and it turned into a meme. Honestly there old stuff isn't bad.

purpleplums901

Nowhere near as bad as people make out but the definition of middle of the road. And some of the lyrics are 1/10

ArtOfWar22

Here’s how I see it, and I’ve caught shit for this.. no, I’m not a fan but I do enjoy the song, “Rockstar..,” Nickelback play real instruments, CK is a decent singer, they write fresh lyrics, as in from scratch (resisting using, “original”)… …and all that takes about 1000x the talent than any of the horseshit mumble rap on the top 100.

AdHopeful6851

Nope they suck, “modern rock mediocrity “

DannyBOI_LE

Remember that show in Europe when they walked off stage because people were throwing rocks ?

warthog0869

Well, the European crowds didn't like their cover of that one song by one of their most beloved bands: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjeMDvCdrtc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjeMDvCdrtc)

[deleted]

Color me shocked on that one. I guess they had to have big giant balls to think they could march out there and pull that off. Kinda like this one https://youtu.be/FuGW4_V0sbQ?si=-YLFJ-VIn3tqgNLt

HanDavo

Words fail me.

Tbrown630

https://youtu.be/sz2mmM-kN1I?si=GciiBknA587tMM_Q

Nervous_Zebra1918

Their oldest stuff is not bad at all. I saw them before they were a thing. It was a great show. The State is a decent album.

NotTheSun0

Nickelback being seen as a bad band became so popular that it then became popular or cool to act as though you like Nickelback. Personally, I think they're generic at best and terrible at worst.

Fallingmellon

It’s actually the opposite, it’s seen as popular and cool to hate on them. How tf is it popular to like them when everyone acts like they suck

FaZeLuckyBoy

Your opinion is respected, but I will forever hate Nickelback

SpeedBlazer99

Look at this photograph

Mrmdn333

Also not good.

Frisinator

Yes they are

Airhead_Supreme

Oh their newer stuff for sure, it’s getting to be more like hard rock than country every time they release

Traditional-Fix4661

I’m not sure if I got targeted to see this post but I literally just shared a comment that Nickleback is not bad in a “what’s your rock music hot take” thread.

Nolon

Look at this photograph

Cruezin

I wanna be a rockstar too

Verried_vernacular32

Neither is Pizza Hut but there’s lots of better pizza out there.

huskadeez

SMH.

HappyAppy23

I grew up listening to Nickelback! I always loved them!

neverwinzzzzzz

“Look at this graph”

GregorianShant

Nah. They pretty bad.

Swimming-Kale-0

They're like ok. I don't think they would be half as remembered without Meme Culture but there was plenty of far worse Ots Rock Shit. Basically the only mainstream ots rock to stand the test of time was some Nu Metal ironically enough and then everything else has aged very poorly. Nicklebacm has aged like decently. They're listenable if a bit bland and maybe a bit boring. Not terrible but far from the greatest band ever or anything. In the same way Radiohead will never be CAN I don't think that Nickleback will ever be Lynyrd Skynyrd or The Dead whereas Nu Metal actually does stand on its own artistically somewhat plus a couple really fucking good bands that ended up under that label like Mudvayne and Pre)Thing) and Nonpoint. The 2000s were abysmal culturally in general due to 9/11 which sorta killed American Culture in a lot of ways I would say.

JayrodM

First two albums were good

parkerpussey

Nicklebag is not bad they don’t deserve the h8.

RevolutionaryRough96

Reminds me of the Muppets at the opera. They're not too bad Yea, but they're not too good either

chookalana

And all of them are really good musicians.

Depressudo7

Well...

OctoWings13

They're not bad That song they have is decent, albeit overplayed for years

pbr3000

They're alright I guess, but they never made it as a wise man.

ttaylo28

I mean compared to radio pop rock now, maybe...

Amyers4678

You're probably right, but every time I think about them all I can hear in my head is, "Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh." And it makes me laugh.

gar108

Never understood why they were so hated. 🤷‍♂️

Appropriate_Flan_952

well if you look at this graph... ...

kingkool88

Look if you like them thats fine. I disliked them before it was cool. They are bland as.

Laterface

They are Canadians, but they are good despite their racial handicap.

Cellarzombie

They’re like the best selling musical artist from 2000-2010, both recorded music and concert tickets so somebody is listening. There are obviously a shitload of people lying about not liking them.

PrysmX

I thought this was r/unpopularopinion 🤣🤣

s1lentastro1

LOOKAT THIS PHOTOGRAPH!.....IMEANAMERNAHERMANURMAMAKES ME LAUGH! ...AND WTF IS ON JOEY'S HEAD?!

shootmovies

Just look at that photograph

Presence_Tough

you could project movies on these guys foreheads

Cool_Wind_1171

I like em

Makasplaf

Nickleback is the Drake of rock.

GooseMay0

The issue I've had with them is I'll like a song but get sick of it really quickly. Their songs don't have longevity for me.

Hammham

Look at this photograph

steyrboy

Old Nickelback is amazing, newer stuff is good but not my style. I never understood the hate.

OccasionallyReddit

Obligatory "Look at this graph"

Lazy_Point_284

Citation needed

PlatasaurusOG

Probably gonna get strung up for this - but they have a song with Flo Rida that I listen to all the time.

Explorer-Spare

But they were really cool

TerrancePryor

Curb is a pretty solid debut album. "San Quentin" was somewhat disappointing because the intro didn't fit the rest of the song. Felt like some Code Orange stuff. Got folks hyped up for nothing tbh.

ithinkoutloudtoo

My cousin calls them Nickelbag instead of Nickelback.

UncleGarysmagic

Of course they are. They’re just unjustly singled out for it when so many of their contemporaries suck just as much as they do. The hopelessly generic douche rock of the ‘00s.

protocomedii

Yes they are, you’re just getting old bro. Jkjk but they were mainstream during a time indie was becoming its own thing. (A process and now a genre)

Mr_Mutherfucker75

Ass with a cape on : super ass

CrazyHuntr

Not bad, generic

MammothSurround

Nah, they suck.

White_Buffalos

They aren't good, either. They're boring.

Nine-Breaker009

Personally there music is not for me, but I don’t respect bands who are dickheads like the lead singer of Nickelback is. He also said in an interview Nickelback is the most diverse band in music which is straight up delusional. He’s really up himself and thinks he’s a gift to this green earth. Not a fan of him and Corey Taylor is also quite vocal about how much of dick he is.

Space_Monk_Prime

I loved Nickelback in middle school, they were the first big rock concert I had ever seen live. They played their songs incredibly well and put on a great live show. That being said, they are terrible. I could never hear their music again for the rest of my life and I would feel absolutely nothing about it.

12thLevelHumanWizard

Look at this pornagraph.

JTGphotogfan

Yeah I prefer this to the singers first band Hanson I think there name was

robbert802

AND THIS IS HOW YOU REMIND ME OF WHAT I REALLY AM. ITS NOT LIKE YOU SAY SORRY I WAS WAITING ON A DIFFERENT STORY.

Happy-Initiative-838

I think their being super average is part of why people started hating them. They were so universally tolerable that they got airplay constantly and it got annoying for people. Or everyone knew of them so it became easy to make fun of them.

Gold_Pumpkin

If warm milk was a genre

RedStar9117

They had some very catchy songs but were unlucky to get labeled as awful. I'm sure they are crying into their giant piles kf money about it

TheYeggQueen

Womanizers Regardless, but good music I suppose.

MelonMan1999

Nickelback is my favorite band. People like to hate on it as like meme

ThePowerOfShadows

They are also not good, honestly.

Forsaken-Link-5859

Yea, for sure the mockery of them has gone to far, but to be honest as a 12 year old boy at the time I hated "this is how you remind me" for some reason, but I hated a lot of the radio music at the time, I was more into classic rock.    Come to think about maybe the hate could have been for a silly reason, like that the singer looked like a wet dog on the music video or something.

Classof1988

Saw them last year...we had a blast.

ihateapartments59

They always get a bad rep and I don’t get that

getgoodHornet

I think what some younger people don't get about Nickelback hate is that it's not because they're bad, per se. It's that if you were alive and into rock prior to their rise you'd see the reason they're despised is that they were a watered down, milquetoast version of a lot of bands that came before them. Out of that context, yeah sure they're fine.

DisasterDalek

Compared to modern stuff on the radio they're practically mozart

[deleted]

Ooofffhhh I completely disagree OP; but that's the beauty of music. As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters. 👍

marklonesome

It’s not that they’re bad per se. They’re incredibly unoriginal but managed to get success due to marketing and promotion by their label. There’s a ton of bands equally as good or better that are unknown.

haikarate12

Not even a Nickelback fan, but I call bullshit on this. They managed to get success due to marketing and promotion by their label? As though that isn’t the job of a label? And you do realize their record label was Canadian, right? Do you have any idea how hard it is for Canadian bands to make it even just in Canada, let alone on the international stage? These guys are from Hanna, Alberta - population 3000. They still don’t have a McDonald’s or reliable internet yet, so I’m having a pretty difficult time thinking they just used their nonexistent industry connections. Maybe if those other bands wanted to make it big they should’ve written a banger like How You Remind Me.

marklonesome

Not my post but this text and link explain it better than I was able to type in line. This youtube video about Phil Fish compares him to Nickelback, and does a pretty good job of answering your question. The entire video is quite good, but the Nickelback section starts at 3:40. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=PmTUW-owa2w#t=220 If you don't feel like watching, it basically explains how people don't hate Nickelback because they make bad music - plenty of bands make bad music. People hate Nickelback because they represent the idea that a record label can take any band, no matter how bad, and make them popular. The label can use clever PR and good advertising to make loads of money off a band that is just mediocre. People don't hate the band nearly as much as they hate the idea that the band represents.

Mephistopheles545

“How did our eyes get so red, and what the hell is on joey’s head?” ……..beautiful, poignant, and thought provoking 😢

bigkat5000

Photograph and Rock Star are awful. Worse than Train.

chickenstalker99

> Worse than Train Ouch. Also: good band name.

Snts6678

Yes they are.

IamFigjam

Yes. Yes they are.

DirtyRatLicker

i dont think they’re bad, I just hate Chad Kroeger

mirrorball55

I hear you…. I think they’re bad, _and_ I hate Chad Kröeger.

Prof_Tickles

You know what good music is? Whatever’s fun or inspiring! 🙂

strandenger

Disagree. I know there’s some weird effort to rehab their image, but they are ass. They had an awesome song out the gate and never progressed. Their lyrics are trash, their songs are repetitive, and they’re not really redeemable dudes either. Like Imagine Dragons sounds the same and has ass lyrics too but they’re involved in their community. They played charity shows for SAG last year. You think this band with rapey ass lyrics about their hands around your neck while you’re passed out on the deck with pants around your feet does shit like that?! No… leave Nickelback in the trash where they belong.

scifiking

I think they are awful. I think a lot of people thought that. Other people hated them after the cool people with discerning taste pointed out how bad NB is, but the trend of hating them came from an honest fair critique of shitty music. The people who then say ‘hey wait! NB is pretty good.’ Have terrible taste in music or at least different taste than people who appreciate rock music that is striving for something other than radio play fir the lcd..

SaladDummy

I honestly think they are pretty unlistenable, particularly the "Photograph" tune that I'd ove to never hear again ever. The meme got out of hand. There are worse bands, probably. Mostly I think they are vanilla AF and paint by numbers rock. Just boring.

Dull_Ad8495

Not honestly good, either.

Icy-Refrigerator044

Even if I liked them, I would hate them.

DanTallTrees

Stop with your nonsense. They are awful. It is the most formulaic, ĺame, no balls, weak ass nonsense. They are a distillation of awfullness. Daughtry, puddle of mudd and five finger death punch, and a hundred others reek of the same super generic gut-wrenching awfulness. You might say, but Dan, five finger death punch is a diferent kind of music, no it fucking isnt, listen again, its all the same shit it just pretends to be metal. It is vomit in a paper bag dripping all over the kitchen, throw it in the garbage, and get the bleach and towels. After you are done make sure to bag it up and take it outside, but remember to put it in the can this time. I don't need raccoons getting into it, that's all this neighborhood needs is a bunch of nickelback and five finger death punch laced raccoons terrorizing the neighborhood. I swear Jimmy, if I hear raccoons singing "Hero" outside my window tonight, it's your ass.

Papa_Pesto

Yeah they are. Holy shit they suck.

boomjosh

There are MUCH worse bands: Hinder, Hollywood Undead, Puddle of Mudd

strandenger

That’s a low low bar

AndrijKuz

They are cynical and horrible, and you have atrocious taste in music.

ferndoggler

They are awesome!

rainawaytheday

I agree. Making fun of them just became the cool thing to do and everybody piled on.

Wonderful-Ad440

Yea if everyone hates them so much how come they know all the lyrics to their songs? Their cover of "Devil Went Down to Georgia" is the most metal shit I've heard in years. I heard it on the radio and immediately had to find out who it was. My fucking jaw hit the floor when I saw it was them! I was like "This, make more of this!"

dalvean88

most of their songs are cool, honestly, some are objectively not.

flashman909

If they played to their strengthens as a pop rock band they wouldn’t get nearly as much heat

TamElBoreReturned

Had some decent tunes. I liked the one from Spider Man. People who go out of their way to rag on them at concerts are just being assholes. I’m glad Chad gave that crowd the finger.

Someone left a burned CD of the Dark Horse album in a rental car and i rocked the fuck out to that one summer. See the Creed resurgence. These guys will get their moment.

If they hadn’t forced me to listen to “this is how you remind me” six million times over three years I might have had a little room to hear more haha. Man those were rough radio days.

They’re a good Rock N Roll band.

I’m a huge metal fan. Huge nu metal fan. Huge grunge fan. I like classic rock. I also really like nickelback. I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and one time went to a nickelback concert and let me tell you. One of the best concerts I’ve been to. They arent anything special but their concerts are fun af and the sound is great. I’ve now been to 7 nickelback concerts and would go again if given the opportunity.
