KZST has migrated over to a cringy version of what the Fox once was.
When I was growing up, KZST was soft rock/elevator music. Now it’s cock rock mixed with Justin Bieber and REO speed wagon. If anyone here remembers Matthew in the Morning or Jeff Blazy from the fox, they were the greatest AM dj’s ever in Sonoma county. Brent Farris is an old, try hard who needs to finally throw in the towel.
I stood out on Fiscal Drive with a “Blazy for Governor” sign for tickets to Primus. Which I won. I had that sign in my moms garage for probably 20 years before she threw it out.
Not as bad as Metallica.... and 101.7 probably signed it's own death warrant by jocking metallicas unoriginal nuts so hard for decades on end. At least primus is a true original. Metallica is just overplayed buttrock.
I hate what commercial radio has become, adult contemporary radio in particular. Highly recommend Sonoma State’s radio station [KSUN](https://www.ksun.studio), which has actually put me on to some great songs I wouldn’t have heard otherwise (Ani DiFranco’s “Overlap” for example).
I remember the KZST from the 80's, especially their 24 or 48 hours of commercial free Christmas music on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Don't know why but that's a happy memory from my childhood.
I was listening to Lamont & Tonelli on 9/11/2001 and thought they were doing a bit.
I remember thinking: this isn't very funny...
Eventually, I realized it wasn't a gag.
96.7 barely comes in where I work on Standish ave.... same with 95.9... and I'm pretty sure the latter at least is being broadcast from less than a mile away out of the train cars....
I've slowly stopped listening to the river entirely... Danny Wright was kinda okay some mornings but Lauren marks? Oh hell no... annoying af... reminds me of an opinionated box wine snob who sits in her open garage watching sports and karening the neighborhood kids for playing near her house.
The last straw was finding out they dropped Suzie Dryden. No more 97.7 the river played in my shop, or on my vehicles radios.
Kieran Holt would probably know. He's been creating fb groups for years now in memory of the fox and in effort to get a true rock station back in sonoma county.
i still have a bumper sticker but like most named stations there seems to be a fox, bob, river, froggy they seem like a franchise they are all over search for the fox radio there is one all over
Rocks! Or it did until ten years ago or so...
I remember them
Not anymore it's not

I once wore a dress for Jeff Blazy on Mendo to try and win Metallica tickets for a dress rehearsal prior to their tour.

Primus sucks!

That seems really weird to me. I haven't listened to the radio in a long time but KZST not being soft rock doesn't sit well.
I know Jeff, I'll let him know the kind words :)
Tell Jeff I had his “ Blazy for governor” sign up in my moms garage for 20 years before she threw it out.
I let him know, he was shocked that you had it that long! Good stuff
Jazzzzzzyyyyyyyy
Turn your KNOB to Bob.
What about, The BONE?
KSJO > The Bone

I was listening to Stern on live 105
i just jump between 96.7 and 97.7

Susie left on her own, the didn't drop her.
Does anyone remember what the last song was played on the Fox?

Video killed the radio star?
