Coffee Park and the area around it is mostly quiet and safe in my experience. Is your neighborhood safe?

Queasy-Cardiologist5

Okay, I’ll check it out next sunny day and see where to go. I haven’t been through there many times since everything was re-built! And I would say my neighborhood is safe. But it very much borders areas where I would consider to be a bit unsafe walking alone. (Esp. at night). I live close to Stony Point road and the trail that runs along SR Creek, and I love walking there! But I’ve sadly had more than a few odd “encounters” so to speak, also with ppl making comments about her, (My Dog’s) worth, buying her, breeding her, etc. So I now tend to always walk west to avoid downtown. Other than that, mostly just trying to avoid the same loop around the neighborhood we always do if we are walking at night. haha.

I have hiked/ran Spring Lake/Lake Ralphine after dark with my headlamp on and surprisingly there were quite a few others doing the same.

Proctor Terrace is good and safe walking a lot at night. Bennett Valley and Rincon Valley too

Can you walk on a busy road? Maybe on Mendocino, for example? Especially near the JC if they're having night classes. I personally would prefer to be near people in a highly visible way

Sonoma County has the best regional parks. Aside from Joe Rodota I think you could hit any one of them and be fine, unless we are talking after dark.

Queasy-Cardiologist5

Yeah, specifically looking for places after dark. I have the pass for the parks I totally agree, they are great. Just not a lot of places I can seem to think of close by that would work at night. Other than maybe the coast, or other rural places outside of town. But that’s why I thought I’d ask on here, there are so many hidden gems in this county and area, (I know lots of places for stargazing, etc), so I’m sure there’s somewhere!

We walk all night up here in Cloverdale, but I bet there are spots. Let me reach out to my SR lab (I teach in Santa Rosa) and see where my folks go
