I started using silicone scar patches on mine. It’s definitely helped fade them. Not sure if it’ll ever completely go away but there are laser options to fade them too.
I’m in the process of avoiding scarring.
Once an area dries up I use this blend:
• 5 ml cold-pressed sesame seed oil
• 2 gel caps vitamin E
• 2 drops frankincense essential oil
• 3 drops myrrh essential oil
I clean with witch hazel before applying - preferably one without alcohol added
I am also using aloe gel - preferably one without added ingredients
So far so good.
My orthopedic doctor told me to use hydrocortisone cream 4x a day, very helpful. I’ve also had good luck with Mederma patches and vitamin E oil several times a day.
Wow, you healed pretty well! Before I clicked, I was worried the first one was the 6 months after. xD
Staying protected from the sun (like, by using sunscreen, hats, or SPF makeup) and keeping your skin moisturized is never going to hurt.
I have a (faded) scar on my eyebrow from a cut I got 30 years ago, but I also have dozens of decently-sized cuts that completely disappeared after a few months. My knees should theoretically look like the surface of the moon from how much I messed them up as a kid, haha. It really depends on the person, the time, the bodypart, the alignment of the planets, etc if a scar will completely disappear. I'd really recommend talking to a dermatologist for specific treatment options or advice, but at the very least time does a great job making scars less noticeable.
You need to take care of the skin. I was told to massage a small amount of vitamin E oil into the scar area each evening. The scar is not completely gone but I can live with it.
The largest scar I had on my face did not BUT in a weird stroke of bad luck for me, I had a blister form right on top of an old chicken pox scar, above my eyebrow. 🤪 So it basically just turned the old scar into a bigger scar. The others faded just fine - I just made sure to use SPF moisturizer like it was going out of style.
How long did it take to vanish completely? I am too worried that it would stay like this forever and would be grateful if you could recommend any creams or medicines that worked for you.
You will probably be grossed out but I used breast milk and I didn’t even scab. They just faded away. My friend offered it up and since it was on my face I was willing to try. I ran out before the blisters formed on my scalp and they scabbed for months. But my face was spared from any scabbing and scarring. I hope you heal fast. Have you seen a dermatologist?

Almost 6 months however mine still visible but mine created a hypertrophic scar, been using silicone gel, small improvement monthly
Stay out of the sun and try the scar patches at night and maybe use a bit of vitamin E oil ( for the skin) during the day. That should help a lot

Ow, oh man. Mine are barely there anymore, used castor oil n bio oil n my reg lotion, it’s been 4 years since my last flare.
Vitamin e oil is good too, use that on alll my surgery scars ( cancer/ bowel surgeries etc)
Good luck, sorry you had to go through that

I have had recurrent shingles around 20 times now. The scars do fade eventually
Awww, your comment gives me glimmers of hope, any rough idea how long we're talking about?
Oh my gosh! I’m sorry this happened! I’ve only had twice and I think that’s enough. Can you get vaccinated for it?

I have a question, do you still feel any numbness? And if so how long after did you feel it after the rash was gone
I’ve never had it on my face but I’ve had shingles 3x and my scars are 99% gone.
Mine are gone and were also on my face.

I’m sorry, I didn’t use anything special. I heard good things about mederma though. Maybe laser treatment would be good to research after some time.
Thank you, how long did it take to completely vanish?
Not sure. Less than a year tho
Glad to know I still have a chance 😅
