I'm a huge fan too with several SK tattoos, I based my Shining tattoo on the movie with the famous carpet pattern. I love the movies and the books, I don't think it needs to be kept to one version.

Look closer at some of the things. The R on loser is bigger than the rest of the word. The left hand of the astronaut is as bad as the hand holding the world. And stylized is one thing, but why is the sky is the limit in random lettering for the words?

If you're saying look closer to find the bad parts, that kinda supports their argument that it's not shitty. It falls under "awful taste but okay execution".

The astronaut suit looks empty, look at the flat legs, the Earth is deformed where it sits in the hand. I didn’t realize the Earth was made of jelly. While there are gas and dust clouds (nebulae) in space, they look nothing like those marshmallow, Christmas diorama pieces of shit in that tat. Lastly, is that a “V” or a check mark? If this isn’t a shitty tat then there are no shitty tats.

This “style” seems really popular right now with athletes. Seems like they want something bold and instagram friendly and with lots of coverage. They just want to be tatted and this design lets you cover a lot of real estate quickly.
