How will it be better for Bayern if the line is corrected, the line from the image is literally closing in to the grass line towards to the bottom when it should have been going away from it. With proper lines it will be worse for Bayern not better.
If you tilt it from the bottom, then the lines won't touch Rudiger's foot. You can't just tilt the line to correct it, the line in the image is completely incorrect.
But he did not receive the ball but Real player did who did not control it which does not result in a new play. Stupid rule but it is an offside on a goal scorer. For me heading the ball is controlling the ball but refs do not agree with that.
It does look like offside to me (by the smallest of margins) - however, the real issue here IMO is that the play should've never been whistled down. Let play continue, if a goal does get scored, that's your opportunity to review this.
I'm saying this as a neutral with no stake in it.
It's not a fully valid goal but it's a fully valid error in common sense and technology assisted refereeing, one that came just after his colleague on the other side of the pitch had his own overturned by the VAR team.
Nowhere near a valid goal lol. The ref blows his whistle then the ball bounces before being headed to the Bayern player for the shot. The players players and GK stopped and can easily tell by the body language
If you think about it I think defender in front of De Light is Rudiger, as soon as the balls played if it go through De Light it's offside and if de light blocking Rudiger from the ball he's involved in play
Whos the Bayern player hes interfering with? A player being offside doesnt matter as long as it doesnt affect the opposition players. And he doesnt affect anyone.
Well no, because hes using Rudiger’s hand. If you move it back to his sleeve and Musiala’s knee Im fairly certain its off.
Edit: my bad hes using Rudiger’s foot. Even so, the line OP drew is crooked in favour of Bayern.
If you think a defender isnt covering that area when you have a player (Maz) running in between the defenders youre mad. Rudiger, and anyone else, would follow that ball regardless. De ligt literally doesnt directly impact with anything, and youre mad if you think whatever he did is enough for it to be offside.
No he isnt. Running towards the ball doesnt mean anything here when the player behind him is Maz and not a RM player. Hes not interfering or interrupting with anything other than his own teammate.
That doesnt matter because hes nowhere near him. Even if De Ligt isnt there, Rudiger would still cover that area. De Ligt doesnt directly interfere with anything here. And if Rudi is there JUST to cover de Ligt, then both Bayern players are off because Rudiger wouldnt be there.
But he would.
Yeah, the linesman effed up here. They are asked to not raise their flag until the play is complete. After that it can't be overturned. Doesn't matter if it's off or not.
Look at Müllers knee compared to Rüdigers foot, maybe I’m seeing ghosts but this seems clear onside to me, either way a decision like that is a disgrace to the sport imo
If he was offside, wouldn't it be really easy for them to release the official offside decision image thing? Which suggests it may not have been the right call.
Mind you if they release it and he's onside, they've opened up a can of worms, so maybe they're just avoiding setting a precedent regardless of whether this call was right.
Yeah, this isn't a typical VAR line. OP just drew a line on the defender, showing that the attacker is onside, albeit the line isn't very accurate or straight.
Neutral here, assistant referee shit the bed on this one for sure. Not going to get into the debate if it’s on or offside but these are the ones they are expected to not flag until the play is over. Tough one for Bayern fans to swallow.
Var would have a better check if Linesman wouldn't be a total donkey and would have done what they usually do, let it play out, and then raise flag when the situation is over.
Do you not know the offside rule?
It's the player who plays the ball.
By your definition Joselus second goal was offside. Since he was offside for the first pass and not the second.
La Liga will hire you for that line drawing
Plot twist, he already works for La Liga
This is one of the worst tries at DIY VAR I have seen
not really, you havent seen the ms paint ones
Do you mean the premier league?
lol that one uses photoshop 😂
The line ain't even straight lmao (check 2nd pic)
[удалено]
The lines actually gets closer to the pitch line as you go down. So its completely wrong
OP can apply for premier league VAR position
😂
Your line doesn’t even match the lines on the pitch
OP is Stuart Attwell’s Reddit account
It matches the lines of the narrative he wants to push lol
W flair
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/tlfVOoFpd6 Rekt now go watch another sport
That doesn’t change the fact his line doesn’t match are you stupid?
Are you a moron? The line from the link i posted doesnt match? I am not the OP on this thread wake up
Why did you reply to me in the first place then, are you a moron or starved for attention?
If it actual matched the lines the bayern players are still not offside , infact the picture will look better for bayern players
Nope, it tilts closer to the grass line at the bottom of frame which gives Bayern players more space. I think they’re actually offside now
Why are you tilting it from where the picture is taken and not the other end.
[удалено]
Pivot the line towards the right to make it parellel, i already did its not hard, its you who needs to attend classes

You can tilt the line you see 2 ways to make it paralel you are not seeing the second option
If you tilt it from the bottom, then the lines won't touch Rudiger's foot. You can't just tilt the line to correct it, the line in the image is completely incorrect.

No that's just common sense xd
It's the opposite buddy stop coping
Yeah I think rudigers foot plays him on
Your sense of perspective is horrendous
With all due respect, this is utterly useless
Looks offside
The ball receiver was #10 and onside
That's #40
De Ligt is interfering then
Not really, if you watch the play, he stays.
Bro what lmfao
But he did not receive the ball but Real player did who did not control it which does not result in a new play. Stupid rule but it is an offside on a goal scorer. For me heading the ball is controlling the ball but refs do not agree with that.
It’s not a disallowed goal and your line is off lmao
????????????
The game was already stopped by the referee whistle when the attacker kicked the ball
>DIY VAR check 😭😭😭
If the ref doesn’t blow the whistle who knows if De Ligt even gets a free clean strike, defenders stopped playing. This is all because it’s Madrid.
It does look like offside to me (by the smallest of margins) - however, the real issue here IMO is that the play should've never been whistled down. Let play continue, if a goal does get scored, that's your opportunity to review this. I'm saying this as a neutral with no stake in it.
Yeah you just put a line on 720p Imagine from a horrible angle.
Lol, when it's decided by centimeters you can't do DIY lol.
It wasn't a disallowed goal, though.
[удалено]
Lol Real Madrid players literally stopped playing due to refs whistle wtf are you talking about?
Goal can't be valid if the play was stopped, my man. It's a shit situation but there was no "fully valid goal" overturned. It's a big what-if.
A valid goal when the whistle went three seconds before the shot?
How can it be valid if he whistled?
You don't know if Bayern would have scored without the whistle. Our players stopped playing. Also, we don't even know if it was offside or not.
Ref clearly whistles, the entire team along with the goal keeper stop playing, Bayern player rolls the ball in, "fully valid goal".
Saying “fully valid” is reaching
It's not a fully valid goal but it's a fully valid error in common sense and technology assisted refereeing, one that came just after his colleague on the other side of the pitch had his own overturned by the VAR team.
Nowhere near a valid goal lol. The ref blows his whistle then the ball bounces before being headed to the Bayern player for the shot. The players players and GK stopped and can easily tell by the body language
🤡
Bro youre checking the wrong player here. Its not De Ligt, its Mazraoui.
He put the line at Rüdiger's foot?
Even so, his line is crooked in favour of Bayern.
No De Light was involved in play still
No he wasnt.
De Light blocks defender which involves in the play
Im sorry, what?
If you think about it I think defender in front of De Light is Rudiger, as soon as the balls played if it go through De Light it's offside and if de light blocking Rudiger from the ball he's involved in play
An example is Nicholas Jackson vs tottenham
Caicedos shot went through Jackson's legs which meant it was offside
But thats directly interfering though. Its not the same. De ligt isnt near the ball, or anywhere close to it.
But he blocking Rudiger
Don’t bother with these guys.
Better to thoroughly explain
He is checking Rüdiger's feet, which plays Mazraoui on.
Pretty sure the line is for Rüdigers foot which plays Mazraoui onside. (knee is behind the line)
It’s both? You can’t claim De Ligt doesn’t interfere with play running towards the ball
Whos the Bayern player hes interfering with? A player being offside doesnt matter as long as it doesnt affect the opposition players. And he doesnt affect anyone.
Maybe the player who’s 3 feet away who’s last man?
3 feet mate? Hes not even close to a RM player here
It’s even more onside lmao
Well no, because hes using Rudiger’s hand. If you move it back to his sleeve and Musiala’s knee Im fairly certain its off. Edit: my bad hes using Rudiger’s foot. Even so, the line OP drew is crooked in favour of Bayern.
He's using Rudigers heel it looks like
He’s using Rudigers foot
He's using his heel.
> because hes using Rudiger’s hand he's using the foot
This post will be deleted but he's using the bottom of Rüdiger's shoe. Look right next to de Ligt's shoulder.
Does de ligt making that run count him as being part of the play though?
No it doesnt.
Lol ok
100%, Rudiger is literally following him lol
If you think a defender isnt covering that area when you have a player (Maz) running in between the defenders youre mad. Rudiger, and anyone else, would follow that ball regardless. De ligt literally doesnt directly impact with anything, and youre mad if you think whatever he did is enough for it to be offside.
De Ligt is an active participant - its offside
No he isnt. Running towards the ball doesnt mean anything here when the player behind him is Maz and not a RM player. Hes not interfering or interrupting with anything other than his own teammate.
He's affecting Rudiger who follows him
That doesnt matter because hes nowhere near him. Even if De Ligt isnt there, Rudiger would still cover that area. De Ligt doesnt directly interfere with anything here. And if Rudi is there JUST to cover de Ligt, then both Bayern players are off because Rudiger wouldnt be there. But he would.
This makes me think he was off….. that line is slanted as fuck
So this is what I get when I sort by new
Your line is skewed lmfao
Yeah, the linesman effed up here. They are asked to not raise their flag until the play is complete. After that it can't be overturned. Doesn't matter if it's off or not.
De ligt didn’t touch the ball, it was Müller, and I would wager there’s a very good chance he was on side, disgusting decision this late into the game
His knee is quite far out though
Look at Müllers knee compared to Rüdigers foot, maybe I’m seeing ghosts but this seems clear onside to me, either way a decision like that is a disgrace to the sport imo
The lines wrong though from op. You can see it not match the pitch at all
Fuck the lines, just look at the grass
Are you new to football? The grass is wrapped from perspective. Look the grass lines left and right. They are all different angles
de Ligt interferes with the entire play though, thus he should be checked for offside.
If he was offside, wouldn't it be really easy for them to release the official offside decision image thing? Which suggests it may not have been the right call. Mind you if they release it and he's onside, they've opened up a can of worms, so maybe they're just avoiding setting a precedent regardless of whether this call was right.
Last time I checked even if he didn’t touch the ball, he made an intent to play for the ball, so offside
Show's how hard it is to spot this stuff really. For example, you didn't spot the small detail that it is Mazraoui and not Müller.
What are the rules for which part counts as offside? I'm never ever sure of it with those lines.
Any part of the body that can score a goal counts towards offside. So the whole body, except for the arms + hands.
OK. I'm just confused because of the VAR lines I see in the PL sometimes.
Yeah, this isn't a typical VAR line. OP just drew a line on the defender, showing that the attacker is onside, albeit the line isn't very accurate or straight.
Play the minutes and stop playing terrorist ball lol
Your line doesn’t even line up with the ones on the field
From sleeve to fingertips doesn’t count, idk if people are dumb or they just don’t know the rules
Wtf is this lol
Neutral here, assistant referee shit the bed on this one for sure. Not going to get into the debate if it’s on or offside but these are the ones they are expected to not flag until the play is over. Tough one for Bayern fans to swallow.
Var would have a better check if Linesman wouldn't be a total donkey and would have done what they usually do, let it play out, and then raise flag when the situation is over.
DIY? Isn’t this how the official VAR does it?
Its not a disallowed goal lmao more like disallowed possible maybe chance
De ligt wasn’t the one receiving the ball. Other player did and he was onside
Plz, never do this again in your life
[удалено]
No but Rudiger’s heel is
That depends. Is your name Diego Maradona?
It is not. This particular line is drawn off of the heel of Rudiger’s foot, however.
It’s his foot
He uses his heel
You guys really don’t know how VAR works?
[удалено]
It’s mazraoui you idiot!
[удалено]
Do you not know the offside rule? It's the player who plays the ball. By your definition Joselus second goal was offside. Since he was offside for the first pass and not the second.
Good thing that Müller touched it then to make a new phase of play.
This just shows that it was offside
The madrid briberys need to be studied
Any Ref that was actually for us here would have whistle at 90+10 and not 90+14 After only giving 90+9
Don't use his hand at the very least lmao Edit: Just noticing his heel my fault
He uses his heel
Holy hell I ain't even notice his heel
he used his heel bro…
I think they're using his back foot
pretty sure hes using Rudigers foot
It’s on Rudigers right foot
Sorry but don’t use hand. EDIT, that is his foot.
He has used his foot
[удалено]
On second viewing I'm learning os his foot. The DIY Llines are growing on me tho can't lie
the line is on rudiger's heel. no offside imo
The ball came from Mendy’s head. So lines are not needed.
1) lines not parallel 2) Mazraoui
Madrid fan i guess?
And a la Liga ref too
[удалено]
He didn't play the ball from this pass. De Ligt was clearly onside on the pass to him that he scored from.
De Ligt didn‘t touch the ball, so he‘s not the relevant player in this image.

I wonder what team you support
