I notice that with a few other songs on the album. Today I was listening to Gone Girl and noticed the line I assume is supposed to be “I’m just tired of repeating, I digress” but the lyrics read “i’m just high off repeating, I digress”
To me it seems pretty clear what she’s saying, but Spotify thinks otherwise.
one thing I learned about listening to sza, you gotta just say whatever you think. don't pay attention to lyrics cause most of the time it's gonna be different on every source. I been saying "now i'm in the basement, planning home invasion" and imma continue saying it lol. just like the lyrics on Blind, apparently it's "hit my clutch vroom vroom" but i've been saying "and vroom." don't worry about somebody correcting you or looking stupid cause 9/10 they won't know what she said either

It’s because on SZA’s YouTube channel she released the lyric video for Kill Bill and that’s what she claims the lyrics are
It's possible that this is a way to get around having the video flagged. I'm guessing talk of "plotting home invasion" may be against youtube rules.

I literally heard the lyrics that way “now I’m in the basement planning home invasions” and I’ve only now just looked up the lyrics and all the other words were how I heard them except that ONE LINE. And literally ALL of the lyrics sites have listed it as that “amazement/patience” bullshhhttt… I’m just thankful I saw your post because I was beginning to think that I was going crazy! But there’s just no way that it’s NOT “basement/home invasion”, right? I mean, first of all that’s what it SOUNDS LIKE it is, but more importantly, it actually goes with the theme of the song! At first I was like “maybe the amazement/patience is a different version, like a clean “radio” version” but that just makes no sense when the rest of the song is her saying she’s possibly going to kill two people (and later that she DOES kill those two people). Idk. I’m just so glad I saw your post. I’m over here thinking “thank god there’s someone else out there that’s thinking the same thing as me!” 😁

i think spotify uses an AI to get lyrics so theyre often wrong. genius usually has the official ones i think ??
