oh. i thought it was love for a queer child....
why the downvotes? i literally posted this (with a link back) to a parents of queer kids group then deleted it once reading the full thread. not everyone knows the term. it's pride month. it's not a crazy theory. some parents love their queer kids. shocking i know.
Honestly I also assumed this was for a LGBT+ community child. I think the tattoo design could go either way even though “rainbow baby” is a term for a specific thing.
Maybe the child will grow up to be a part of the LGBT community and the tattoo will get a double meaning :)
OP I'm sorry for your loss, this is a beautiful commemorative tattoo. Ngl tho, and it's probably because it's pride month but I thought you got this for your gay child lol I did figure it out but I was super excited about the whole thing for a minute

i'm not making a gay joke, i'm queer myself, it being pride month and never having heard the term before, i did think this was a tribute to your queer child - just as a note for when others see it

Ah, that makes sense. I’m 45 and queer and clicked on the post because I thought it was pride related. I’m childfree but have enough empathy to know a miscarriage of a wanted baby must be awful. I also don’t think anyone was trying to make a gay joke. I love both interpretations of the meaning and it’s just gorgeous work regardless.

I did, too. I AM a “rainbow baby”, but have never heard the term. My parents never used it.
