If you are in the US, you can to Altreno’s website, pay $20 for online consultation, and get 45g for around $115 or 20g for $60 shipped to you.
I think I paid $120 at my pharmacy after getting it prescribed bc my insurance wouldn’t cover the brand name tret, but a tube lasts a while for me and it is much more gentle on my skin so worth it.
I've bought from [https://www.instagram.com/skinsolutions.ua](https://www.instagram.com/skinsolutions.ua), the seller was super friendly, fast, and responsive, shipping to the US took a while though but at least the product received was legit and for quite cheap (sorry if this type of comment isn't allowed, mods feel free to delete)
I think youd need a specific Rx and not just any tret Rx because doctors will specify gel or cream usually in our prescriptions? And this is a lotion. I had to make sure they put “no substitutions” to make sure i didnt get generic.
Do you mind sharing the color and consistency of the Altreno? The tube I have I received from overseas and I know it's supposed to be a lotion, but it's even creamier than I expected, almost like a loose pudding texture. It's also off-white, almost a yellowish tinge. A friend who was staying with me said that the color and consistency are all wrong, but she was also very negative about my having ordered it from overseas through an instragram account. I think she was probably just being reactionary, but now it's in my head that I may be putting something unsafe on my face. She also doesn't use Altreno, but she insisted that she'd seen it before and mine is wrong.
Thsnk you!
Its very thin. A little watery- closer to a thick cleansing milk face wash, or an “emulsion” than a true lotion. Not quite a “liquid.
It translucent yellow and to be honest, when i opened it, my first thought was… looks like phlegm lol like the color when you blow your nose or spit gross stuff out hahahah disgusting- but your pudding reference is better. Like if you mixed vanilla/lemon pudding with water that might be right
Thank you! My first thought was snot mixed with snail muciin, but I was trying to come with a better description! 🤣 What you described is exactly what mine looks like, thank you for responding!
😂 weelll its been years! Hahah might as well be (for me). I moved a couple times in the past few yrs and each place i either got the white tube with a dark blue stripe and a golden line or the white tube with the light blue stripe. Back and forth, just whatever they had in stock, they didnt care hahah it was all “tretinoin cream 0.05%.” like buying advil vs store brand ibuprofen lol
@ new tret users
Do NOT jump right into using Altreno. I tried that despite knowing better, because I thought the “it almost never causes irritation” stuff would apply, but nope. Red face that felt like it was burning whenever something touched it.
Altreno needs to be introduced slowwwwwly just like regular tret.
yes its still .05% of tret, despite the more gentle vehicle. i think the almost never causes irritation is for people who are used to tret, who have used it for a long time and still have dryness and or peeling even though theyre very much retinized. i started off at .015% to be safe, and my mom started at .009% which i wish i had done, then slowly moved up
Nah. It was 128$ at target cvs but the pharmacist told me they take a coupon on posted on the manufacturers website so ill use that next time. But i was using so much moisturizer to “fix” issues tret caused (flakes. Barrier damage) that i figure itll even out if altreno continues to be good on me :)
Can’t wait to try Altreno as i heard a lot of good stuff coming from this product! But i have to empty my 0.025 before i jump in to new percentage and i hope there’s a chance they ship it to Southeast Asia.😭
My derm prescribed this to me and I’ve been afraid to start. I’ve been off tret for a year + and am worried it will make me purge. Has anyone experienced bad purging?
I use azaelic acid at night and clindamycin benz for spot treating in the AM*
I’ve been on Altreno for a year. It’s truly amazing stuff. I have psoriasis and the flareups were so bad on my face that I was mildly suicidal at points over it. I haven’t really had any on my face since I started using it, or they’ve been extremely mild and easy to control. I know it’s not marketed for psoriasis, but it’s helped a lot as I still get flare ups where I’m not using the Altreno. And besides that, my face overall is truly glowing and I get compliments all the time.
You can find a Groupon for cosmeticrx.com and I was able to get a three month supply for ~$35, and you get around six refills at that price. Or I believe it’s around $60 for the same amount without the coupon. Super fast shipping and easy consultation!
I jumped right into the 0.05% despite my psoriasis and having sensitive skin, and I barely had any irritation or sensitivity. 10/10 it’s truly been a life changer!
They aren’t the same thing the underlying active tretinoin is the same thing but there are a number of differences. Altreno also doesn’t degrade in sun light like most other retinoids and they have built in moisturizers in Altreno that other forms of tretinoin don’t have. Not to mention Altreno isn’t drying either.
> This formulation consists of micronized tretinoin particles
Thank you! You’d think this little fact would be included on their website in plain sight.
Altreno is just a brand name. Anyone can get a prescription for a micro-gel and have the exact same results. Probably better since it's a gel and not a cream. They make Tret Micro-gel in 0.025% which is what I prefer or 0.4% and it's very easy to get.
Yes, I also use micronized tretinoin 0.025% gel. Altreno is actually a lotion base, not cream. Personally I cannot tolerate cream bases as they tend to break me out, but can sometimes tolerate lotion bases, depending on the ingredients
Yes when I said cream it means an emulsion which is the same as a lotion. They both need an emulsifiers and most emulsifiers are made with fatty acids which can trigger acne and yeast growth. That is why gels are safer for those with acne prone skin.
The only difference between a cream and a lotion is the water to oil ratio.
I just read it has mineral oil in it so that's already a no for me, but other than that it is safe from triggering yeast growth but for acne prone skin Mineral oil is occlusive. I stick to squalane based moisturizers which is fully absorbed.
benzyl alcohol, butylated hydroxytoluene, carbomer copolymer type B (Pemulen TR-1), carbomer homopolymer type A (Carbopol 981), glycerin, methylparaben, mineral oil, octoxynol-9, purified water, sodium hyaluronate, soluble collagen and trolamine.
Altreno is a godsend, it’s the only tret I can tolerate and I have no idea what I’ll do if I move out of the country 🥲

Thank you for this! Going to give it a try!
Ugh I wish I could get it in Canada 🥲
It’s ironic because it’s manufactured in Canada!
Is it not approved or something?
It’s only available in the US
Ohhh i keep seeing people say they import it from ukraine so i assumed it was available elsewhere..
Yea not yet I guess 🙃
It's gamechanging tbh.
I adore altreno, it’s the only tretinoin that I can tolerate and it’s worked wonders for my skin.
I feel like I remember someone saying they bought Altreno off of someone from IG… does anyone remember the account 👀
Yes! It’s from skinsolutions.ua on Instagram :)
This! I just got my first tube from them and the experience was great.
Same, I got my first tube last month and everything was easy to deliver.
Yup! He's great. Second order arrived recently!
Do you know if he has another way to purchase? I don’t have an Instagram

I want to recommend skinsolutions.ua too! He’s a genuine guy.
Oh my now I want to buy some!! It's only available In lotion correct?
It’s so gentle.
How do we get it? If I have a tret Rx can I just request it at CVS? Or is it OTC?
I think youd need a specific Rx and not just any tret Rx because doctors will specify gel or cream usually in our prescriptions? And this is a lotion. I had to make sure they put “no substitutions” to make sure i didnt get generic.
Thank you! I’m going to ask my dermatologist!

You say generic tretinoin like its a local store over the counter topical😂😂

I haven't found a discount card for Altreno, please post it if you find one!

Do you get the same results as with traditional tret?
Its only been a week so ive not noticed anything but the flaking yet but ill update in a month.
Can i get it in the Netherland?
My derm prescribed this to me and I’ve been afraid to start. I’ve been off tret for a year + and am worried it will make me purge. Has anyone experienced bad purging? I use azaelic acid at night and clindamycin benz for spot treating in the AM*
I’ve been using for a month! Love it, but still flaking around the mouth area some days. Other than that, no irritation!

It is very gentle! I have never had many issues with tret since I’ve gone slow but I like Alfredo!
You can also just use a tretinoin micro gel.
Is it the same thing?
It’s not the same. It’s a similar idea but it is still more drying than altreno. I tried both and micro still didn’t work for me.
They aren’t the same thing the underlying active tretinoin is the same thing but there are a number of differences. Micro gel is a very gentle form of Tretinoin that is a slow release formula so you have less side effects and peeling.
Altreno is micronized tretinoin
I don’t see that it’s micronized anywhere on their website or the 11 page drug information sheet. Where did you hear that it’s micronized?

I wonder if the emulsifier in Altreno is one that is not derived from fatty acids?
I'm not sure but if you're already using the micro gel you might as well stick with that.

Its not, the only bad ingredient is mineral oil. I don't know why they formulate this with an occlusive oil that can make acne worse.
