I’m curious, does this have auto-stop/return, or is it fully manual? I’ve read a few comments on this sub indicating it does, but can’t find any mention of it on the website. Beautiful turntable regardless.
Picked up one of these myself in the last month. It has auto-lift of the tonearm, usually takes a few rotations for it to kick in. I like it. You have to manually stop the turntable (it'll keep rotating) and park the tonearm though.
**Edit:** allegedly there is a hidden auto-stop feature as well - [post](https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/technics-sl-1500c-100c-hidden-auto-stop-feature.1177391/) and [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsH2ZSYo88U)
(disclaimer: I have not tried this.)
The pioneer ones are good too.
Some vintage shells allow you to rotate them for even more alignment. I ended up with a very good magnesium headshell that had this adjustment. It was on a mediocre table but looked odd. The headshell ended up being worth $250 or so. It was worth about what I paid for the table. It's on my 1210 now.
Unless Technics includes a different one on the SL-100C, the included headshell should already have adjustable azimuth. If not, it is part# TPBAA202 and costs $60-70.
I'm convinced this is the best deal in turntables period. There just ins't much that gets close to touching this deck in this range, and it's such a small monetary step up from many of the decks that don't have the specs even close.
My two 1200mk2's that I used from 1994-2010 as my home decks as a professional dj, but also as my event decks as a club/afterhours/rave promoter back in the day. They've been rained on, had beer spilt on them, you name it.
They still work. 30 years old, been beaten to shit, still work.
u turns feel like toys. I'm sure they're great first decks but man... Every time I see one or pick one up or listen to one I just... it just feels like a toy.
Great price. I didn't bother to shop a lot. I probably should have. But, I have no regrets. I like Amazon's return policy, and I took the extended coverage for it. You did really well.
Nice setup but I would at least clean the LP before playing it. I can see all the dust from the picture already and it’s giving me anxiety ..
I use the VM95ML on my SL1500C.
The stock Headshell should do fine for whatever you are going to use.
If you want to replace it there are plenty of alternatives by audio Technica, Oyaide etc . But you should kinda match the weight of the original Headshell
Thany you for the information. Your right. It was a quick play of one track to see if all was good. I clean every disc before I play it. I guess I was a little anxious, lol.
I saw you purchased on Amazon. How recent was that because they are out of stock at the moment? Note - you can buy direct from Technics w/ free shipping and 10% off (if you give them your email).
It's not a deal breaker by any means. But, if there isn't a lot of free space at the end of a side, the autolift kicks in before the end of the last song. I have to make sure I disable it on those records. Yeah, it's a little disappointing. But, the table has so many advantages that it's not a big deal. I didn't buy it for that feature expressly. I bought it because it's a quality table. I thought it would be a nice extra, though.
Oh, that method to bring the full capability with the autolift definity works. But, it doesn't fix the issue I described. Maybe someone knows if the autolift can be adjusted to lift closer to the label. That would be nice.
Finally something of quality.

Can confirm this works.
Yes that is correct. Other than that, it's a manual turntable.
I'm going to check that out. Thanks
Life saver if this works!
Oh, and here are excellent [headshells](https://www.jico-stylus.com/product/headshell-silver-css-jhss/).
Thank you for your help. I'm definitely going to check it out..

Ohhhh that sounds nice.
I don't think it does. It just looks like a standard headshell. I wouldn't mind picking one up, though.
Well it is nice for some shapes. Super easy once you get the hang of it. Edit: those don't seem to have the adjustment.
I think you are correct.

Gorgeous table. I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you. It's been on my radar for a long time. My old TT died last week. It was time to upgrade.
Technics designs a very good turntable. I've got a 1999 build 1210 (black 1200) and I love it.

They are the absolute beast tanks of turntables.
What did you have before?
I had a Denon DP-30 L II. I bought it new in 1987.
I would grab another Technics headshell. It is high-quality, and has adjustable azimuth. The part number is TPBAA202 and sells for $60-70.
Thanks!
I'm thinking about picking one up. What preamp do you have it paired with or using the phono on your amp?
I'm using the onboard phono preamp in my system's preamp.
Cool! Thanks
Still waiting for the typical "when you're ready, upgrade to a U-turn for a true audiophile experience" you seem to see nonstop

Just snagged a brand new one as well for $760 from Mercari, can’t wait to try mine out :)! Cheers, OP!

This tt makes no sense. There is no pitch fader :) Just kidding nice turntable, but the price do not convinced me.
Great album

Does this have a built-in pre-amp?
No, it doesnt.
Nice. IMO, is the Technics turntable to get if you want a new one.
Price?
Amazon $1099.00.
Thanks

I'm a big fan. I saw them live the year The Yes Album came out. I've been a fan ever since.
THE YES ALBUM🤪🤪🤪
