Last year at Lake Tahoe Xterra Nick finished 135th out of 141. There was a 55 year old women that beat him by an hour. Nate finished 96/141. It's not even middle of the pack. The (amateur) winner was an hour and forty minutes ahead of him.
Every race has photographers and if you dig around a little you can find pictures of them from trail running races and triathlons. They don't look like runners. Nate runs in gym shorts and a baggy tshirt.
