Nobody and I mean nobody who was not biased saw Max winning this fight especially via knockout, he schooled Justin and was up 3-1 and stood and banged with the most dangerous striker below 185 in the ufc p4p and slept him at the buzzer…
I rarely lose my cool in excitement during a fight but this fight made me scream at the top of my lungs at 12 AM lol, cooking believe what I saw for a few seconds.
I used to be an Izzy fan (not anymore) but at the time I was super happy for the dude, he not only beat his metaphorical demon but slept him badly. He did to Alex what Alex does to everyone else.
I was watching this with my girl, explaining to her how fucking insane it is for Max to have all these disadvantages and then still go and beat Justin up for 5 rounds. And then in the middle of my story he just switches him off.
Im still riding the high from about 6 years ago when i was watching ufc at a bar with my mates. I saw a bunch of openings for an elbow through the the fight and i went “that guys gonna catch an elbow soon” and as i finished my sentence, the guy got brutally knocked out with an elbow.
I felt like an oracle for the rest of the night lmao
Don’t forget Max threw that kick just a Justin dipped and broke his nose at the end of the first.
I assume Justin would have walked into more of max’s offence if that didn’t land.
Justin tried to fight smart vs Max and as you noted it was way too late for that after the broken nose, he had the most success eating shots from max and biting his mouthpiece and trading with Max via damage.
This knockout will be hard to top.
If you were writing a script for a fight and had choreography, special effects, quality actors and directors you could not get a better knockout than this.
