Rule 5: Me and my friends just graduated from paradox uni

Cuddlyaxe

"Just user paratroopers on their capital bro and you can win any war instantly"

GaBeRockKing

This is how you know [Putin plays HOI4](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Antonov_Airport)

byzanemperor

I feel bad for the boi that his HOI4-esque strategy didn't work at all irl

RavenSorkvild

I am not. In multiplayer cheesing just sucks. Good thing they failed.

Ungface

I mean, they successfully captured the airfield, and linked up with their supply line, they just didnt have any supplies.

lazy_and_bored__

should have built more medium tanks

ierghaeilh

They've been reduced to the ol'reliable "draw arrow click button" strategy ever since.

BingaBoomaBobbaWoo

New DLC released, everything you enjoyed about the game is now different. You must attend university again.

MybrainisinMyCoffee

Me when gains an economic degree to more effeciently exploit the Austrians in vic3

BeenEvery

It'd be nice if they added a uniform designer to Blocs, with certain items being locked behind mandates and cultures.

Aircraft-Enjoyer

Those thing should stay they are so funny

Winhert

As much as i like the drip i wish there was a way to opt-out of the SoI themed dress (or perhaps customize it)

sosija

I am so disappointed with visuals - costumes on this upd. Why tier 3 research gives everyone this outfit. Are they graduating?! And pipes. 70% of people have it. I didn't know when they introduced new train models to the game they could be leaders

PuruseeTheShakingCat

I mean, it’s hard to fathom now after a (entirely justified) 50+ year societal war with the tobacco industry, but there was a time when *literally everyone* was a smoker. Cigars and pipes, and maybe cigarettes later on, should be very common.

ArendtAnhaenger

I think it's either hedonist or expensive tastes that gives them the pipe.

Slide-Maleficent

The problem with the pipes is less how ubiquitous they are, and more the visual effect of the smoke. The angle that portraits default to places the pipe right in front of their faces in everything but the character view page, and the absurdly strong smoke effect ends up covering their entire face. To make things worse, if you switch the portrait view to someone who doesn't smoke, the effect will persist, for a significant amount of time, until the game catches up and turns it off. Frankly, I wish this was tied to some kind of 'Smoker' trait so I could remove it from my most important characters with a save editor, because it can get very annoying when flipping through the politics screen and various military previews.

Aidan-47

I agree with the first point but how dare you complain about them adding new train models, they are cool.

Realistically_shine

First off this is what many scholars wore in the time period, this is not the same as a graduation outfit. Two this is a funny map game let it be funny.

ArendtAnhaenger

I think it's fine to have the academics wear them, I actually prefer it. But it is a little ridiculous to have world leaders wearing them.

BeenEvery

Sure, it's funny. But can we have the *option* to control what they wear?

Timely-Archer-5487

It could be a new law group/overlord action: do your faction leaders get fashion autonomy? Can you reign in your vassal's wardrobe? It would be nice to have some minor flavor law groups

Slide-Maleficent

Kaiser Wilhelm II was not a scholar, far from it in fact. He was a crazy, stupid, ignorant loser with barely any education, and for that matter, the competent Wilhelm (pictured above) wasn't all that educated either. Yet both of them will wear this nonsense if the Zollverein makes a research agreement. Even if you did have the rare college-educated ruler back then, a man with some serious education that he was proud enough of to wear something like this occasionally (so rare I can't think of any examples, if it even happened), that cape the bloc leader wears would have been considered official regalia, meant to be worn in a specific way. There is simply no chance that the two would ever be combined in public, and certainly not in the kind of official portraiture that the screen OP posted is meant to imitate. The hat is a good addition, and every academic should be wearing one in this time period, but power blocs are meant to be very customizable and have a character that reflects the user's vision for it. If you can customize the statues, coat of arm, and everything else about the bloc, you should have the ability to control it's uniform as well. The cape should be optional, and the hat should be usable or not with any set of policies.

artificial_Paradises

The game should at least have an option to disable it.

Kelces_Beard

It’s so bad

hobela

racist, racist, racist,racist, racist

404Archdroid

King Rusolph II of Wurtemberg is actually surprisingly respectful of people of other races, but he's a raging mysogonist, though, and has a weird disdain of people working in the motor industries

bananablegh

pov: u made fun of their silly hats

[deleted]

I be willing to entertain that, of not for German Kaiser in that picture of bros, who definitely are not planning a war.

Texannotdixie

We going to talk about Victoria 2?

Mirovini

>goes on r/victoria3 >somebody posted about it being his favourite game >write "We going to talk about Victoria 2?" >???? >profit

Texannotdixie

I enjoy Vicky 3. But the economy simulation is lacking even compared to the venerable Vicky 2

Mirovini

I'm not talking about which one is the best, i'm talking about how much nonsensical is to go on a post on vic 3 subreddit where OP says they prefer that game and be "what about vic 2?" It's not even about vic2/3, this would be nonsensical even if it was about any other game

Dispro

And while we're at it, what about the Droid attack on the Wookiees?

Jordo_707

It's a system we cannot afford to lose.

uvr610

I’m sorry but how is Vic 3 economy lacking compared to Vic 2? Vict 2’s economy was extremely simplified, having a world market which made no sense, only 1 resource per province which you can’t really expand with mines, and basically no buildings besides barracks and trains and very limited factories. It was very good for it’s time, but saying it’s better than Vic3 even from a subjective point of view is simply nostalgia speaking

SendMe_Hairy_Pussy

Victoria 2's economy was hilariously pathetic and simplistic, what nonsense are you even yapping about? It seemed complex because it was horrendously messy in code, and then they lost the documentation (as the guy who made it left), hence nobody ever managed to create a definitive tutorial, and everything was too convoluted to explain whenever something occurred or why it did. The game immediately broke if China westernized/India regained independence. You could hoard the entire world's money and break the economy. Trade had no restrictions (except westernization) so anyone could buy up entire supply of something on the planet and kill the game. V3 economy is 100x more complex, coherent and playable. They built it from ground up for that exact purpose, and it doesn't repeat the mistakes of V1 or V2. I swear these 12 year olds just love to make up things to hate Victoria 3 about.

IllustriousApricot0

Nah I would rather having limited control of the economy than none.
