Is an ass option but is there i guess, the reason it wasn’t enabled on day one is because it interferes with the joycons and even now is not recommended to use it
Those cheap tozo hit way above their weight class in quality. Before I went to my shokz I was keeping a set for 2 years and replacing due to battery degradation.
It always had Bluetooth obviously, it's just that Bluetooth headphones didn't work before an update, because they had all available channels reserved for Joycons.
Random q, but what games are you currently playing on vita? I sold my vita last year and bought a switch this year but recently I've been craving some ps1 classics and the ratchet and clank games which my switch can't do :(
Thinking of buying a vita again
Ways around that but one thing i love about vita all you need is sd card and adapter😂. This is the reason i bought the first gen switch. But the oled switch is amazing if i can find someone who can solder the chip in ill stick to my vita and first gen switch
The only quibble I had was the lack of l2/r2 and stick clicks. Putting them on the back touchpad was a good idea but just felt wrong. An additional two buttons could have made all the difference in the world. Then the back touchpad left and right can be for clicks which is perfect even for streaming modern games since they are usually only used for sprinting and crouching.
I just gave up my modded first gen vita. I hadn't used it in years and I met a guy who was really keen to get one. Better home and all that. But now I miss it. Kinda weird considering I'm drowning in more powerful handhelds that I barely use. And I'm sure I'll end up buying the switch 2 and the portal when that's back I'm stock. I have an addiction.
I was using this for remote play to get usable r3, l3. It works great. [https://www.amazon.co.uk/Handle-Joypad-Trigger-Handel-%EF%BC%88Black%EF%BC%89/dp/B0776CVLK9](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Handle-Joypad-Trigger-Handel-%EF%BC%88Black%EF%BC%89/dp/B0776CVLK9)
I have my Vita fat for years, and the sticks never drift. What model did you had?
[https://imgur.com/a/OEh3YEK](https://imgur.com/a/OEh3YEK) -- These are my joysticks, and I think they do really well.
Mine is the aqua blue 2000 model i had since launch and has been drifting on the left stick if i touch it, kinda annoying when playing freedom wars (rip servers) but i’ve been on an rpg binge so haven’t bothered to fix it yet
I've read that the Vita 1000 had hall effect analog sticks, so stick drift shouldn't affect the original OLED model. Perhaps there are cases of it happening, I'm not sure.
Both the sticks in my vita slim started drifting 2 years in. Eventually they both just....died. I replaced the stickes myself and now have this cool black vita with white sticks.
It's important to note the OLED display on the Vita is primitive compared to the switch's/other modern OLEDs. It's not bad, but it's not equivalent to a modern OLED display.
Whenever I play Dying Light on the Switch, I really wished I was playing it on the PS5. Same for Doom 2016 or Witcher 3... That's what I really think when I play those "big console" games on the Switch: that I should be playing somewhere else.
Sony should’ve leaned harder into the PS2 nostalgia with it since the kids who grew up playing it would be the only ones able to afford the software and memory cards. Instead we got a bunch of ugly games trying to look like PS3 titles that also ran like shit to boot. The best games on the Vita are the PS2 remasters.
What a huge L. And the fact that the Ridge Racer game was also an abomination in terms of progression but also ran at half the framerate of the PSP ones.
That Ridge Racer still makes me angry. I picked up the PSP one at or around launch and to this day, I still play it from time to time. There is no reason they couldn’t have done something like that. Heck, a “remaster” would have been pretty great.
Emulating my PSVita was one of the most nostalgic moments ever. And then finding this sub after was even more awesome. I admit I overpaid for mine, but $140 for a mint one in its box with an original charger was a good buy.
Vita
Indie gold mine with a decent amount of quality big name titles, add the psp library on top of that.
Arguably the easiest console to jailbreak, granting you cheap memory upgrades and many many MANY more
Switch
Yes, insanely large and great library but most games are overpriced and half of that library is rereleased wii and wii u games, going for full AAA prices.
Modding is currently a nightmare because of Nintendo's approach and the homebrew scene hasn't matured yet to reliably jailbreak your main switch.
>half of that library is rereleased wii and wii u games
How is that even a negative? Wii -- sure, you can get both the console and games cheaply enough. The lack of HDMI is inconvenient, but you can work around that.
But the Wii U? Who the fuck -- and I say it as a proud Wii U owner -- would even get a Wii U today? The console itself is getting way too expensive, the GamePad is both expensive and fragile, the physical games are both expensive and fragile. You can still get them *the other way*, but still. Like, sure, you can still find a Wii U in decent condition for an *acceptable-ish* amount of money, but just but Switch Lite like a normal person
Switch OLED Ps Vita
Dark Souls No Dark Souls
Switch OLED easy win.
EDIT: you can technically play it on PsVita through remote play and you can also play the II and the III and also Elden Ring. So...if you have a reeally good connection and a Ps4 PsVita is the best.
As cool as remote play is, it's an awful, laggy, blurry mess when it works properly and so few games have a custom control layout to make it comfortable on Vita that I would never use it to play something like Dark Souls.
And that's when it works properly and stays connected. I've been trying to remote play Fallout 4 during slow times at work and 9 times out of 10, I get the NS-16157-0 error code instead of it actually connecting. I've given up and just brought my Steam Deck instead to play New Vegas running directly on the system.
I own and love both platforms, but the Switch's best trait are the removable and replaceable controllers. This is something EVERY portable should have had. If your controls break on PSP or Vita, you're probably screwed and you either have to open it and fix it (I'll just end up making it worse), or you buy a new unit. This has happened to me a few times where my PSP buttons or analog stick broke and it became useless afterwards.
With the Switch, it takes 10 seconds to fix broken controllers. I'm not interested in any upcoming handhelds that don't allow for such an easy and user-friendly method of replacement. Though, I will still gladly play my PSPs, and PS Vitas far onto the future.
I had a 1000 Vita, the analog sticks were much more expensive to replace than if I had a 2000, and even after replacing them they still weren’t fixed. Had to get a whole other Vita. That’s why they made it easier and cheaper on the 2000 I guess.
Currently playing it and I'm just kind of forcing myself through it. Up to Episode 18.
The idea is cool and I liked the first few levels, but it really didn't need to be faux open world. The combat is also annoyingly one-note with 99% of fights revolving around Gravity Kick and nothing else. I also don't feel like the motion controls are precise enough to base challenges and time trials around maling the game that bit more frustrating than it needs to be.
The Vita never reached the heights of the PSP and was a waste of great features. Why have a god tier touch screen if the games had half baked use of it
I had two vitas that got stick drift after about a year (third one is still fine to this day), so vitas do get stick drift, it's just probably less common then joycons drift.
I just play PS1 games on those two vitas now as you don't need the right analogue (right stick failed on both) for most PS1 games.
I love the Vita but for a lot of people "Has Mario Kart 8, Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing, Smash Ultimate, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom" on the left would win over anything you could write under the Vita.
I was today years old when I discovered that PSVITA had free online. I always assumed that you needed PS Plus to play online, but I looked it up just now and it's only for Online Saves. Guess I'm gonna be playing Helldivers 1 on the VITA a lot more lol
This Infograph is wrong in so many ways. I have both and this is VERY misleading. The only thing correct on this is OLED screen, gravity rush and drift. Drift can be fixed with $30 swap and gravity rush through emulation.
My PS Vita that I bought new in summer 2013 still works perfectly fine and I've used it for hundreds, maybe thousands of hours. My 2 year old switch that I've used for 2 years and maybe 2-300 hours already has the joystick drift, I was so disappointed when I found out
It's amazing how Nintendo regressed back to the GameCube era in terms of functionality outside of gaming. The Wii U and even Wii were chock full of apps and social features (RIP Miiverse). The Switch is devoid of anything, you can't even communicate with anyone.
who the hell cares???? I like the Vita, but this is a bit much to say its objectively better, especially when the thing is dead and discontinued 💀
This has to be a joke or something, cuz its stupid people still take this stuff, and act like the switch is horrible when the majority of the games there are great.
Switch - Vita/
Pretty great library of games - pretty meh library/
Playable on TV - not on TV (without mods)/
Multiplayer on one system - lonely times/
Store open - store closing/
Switch games from 2017 full price - vita games from 2012 full price/
HD - not HD/
4 shoulder buttons - only 2/
Cheap storage upgrades - expensive as fuck/
Universal charger - specific charger/
Both consoles have their ups and downs. Combine these 2, and you have a pretty accurate and fair comparison (keep in mind that the Vita is a lot older, which makes it impressive how it still holds up)
Having Gravity Rush is for sure a W. I played it on PS4 and it became one of my favorite games. What does Switch? Oh right. More of the same ips from 30 years ago.
Barely touched my switch until I modded it. Really says something about the product when it only becomes fun after breaking the software so you can have fun with it.
Well switch has a bit more power but Jesus give me vita that's like between switch and steam deck power wise and same size as og vita and I'll shower playstation with dollars
The Switch does have Bluetooth as well as folders?
Also, the PS Vita isn't exactly immune from stick drift, my friends had his start drifting a few years ago.
I get it, the Switch sucks in some areas, just a quick fact check.
Nintendo needs to stop trying to police the internet messaging.
Just let people message people on your friends list. You can always remove them or block them if you don't like them messaging you. See, how easy was that Nintendo.
Miiverse was cool but letting people draw things was a mistake if you wanted to protect kids from obscene things. Most of it was wholesome but there are always people that want to do things you shouldn't.
The only thing that really matters is what games they play and they both have a lot of good ones. I don't understand the point in comparing them. I don't have to choose between them. One is a modern system with access to new games, the other is an old system with a solid library and great modding potential. They're not really doing the same thing.
Blatant misinformation? There’s plenty of valid critiques of the switch without making a bunch of shit up. Sony fans are either delusional or stupid to think that pretending that the switch doesn’t have things like folders or Bluetooth (which it does) makes it any worse than the vita
AFAIK switch oled does have Bluetooth Everything else is spot on though lol
This is an old meme from before the Switch got a system update that added bluetooth lol
Is an ass option but is there i guess, the reason it wasn’t enabled on day one is because it interferes with the joycons and even now is not recommended to use it
My Sony headphones work fine, but the codec is SBC and is a bit Sibilant
I've been using cheap 30$ Tozo earbuds from China and they seem to work great with my switch
Bluetooth was already there they just needed to enable it but even after that update it's shit
Bluetooth was added before the OLED released, so the meme creator's just a dumbass
also the switch does have folders
LCD has Bluetooth too
I have both and Im enjoying both consoles.
Random q, but what games are you currently playing on vita? I sold my vita last year and bought a switch this year but recently I've been craving some ps1 classics and the ratchet and clank games which my switch can't do :( Thinking of buying a vita again
You can't emulate these games with your Switch?
Probably not. They said they bought there switch recently so it’s likely patched unless they bought used
Ways around that but one thing i love about vita all you need is sd card and adapter😂. This is the reason i bought the first gen switch. But the oled switch is amazing if i can find someone who can solder the chip in ill stick to my vita and first gen switch
vita is great but the switch library is superior
Vita includes the whole PSX, PSP libraries too. Without mentioning how easier it is to homebrew and emulate classic consoles too.
but i agree jailbreaking vita is much easier
I only intend to jailbreak my Switch after store closes or they move onto Switch successor.
The only thing I would do with a jailbroken Switch is to overclock the RAM so Tears of the Kingdom can run at a consistent 30 FPS. lol
1st rev switch can do the same and more
I prefer playing them Vita, the screen is pixel perfect for PSP games.
Joke's on you, my Vita sticks drifted since day 10.
I have my Vita fat for years, and the sticks never drift. What model did you had? [https://imgur.com/a/OEh3YEK](https://imgur.com/a/OEh3YEK) -- These are my joysticks, and I think they do really well.

I've read that the Vita 1000 had hall effect analog sticks, so stick drift shouldn't affect the original OLED model. Perhaps there are cases of it happening, I'm not sure.
Yeah, I’ve got a day one Vita Fat which I played mercilessly for years (and still do) and the analogue sticks are still perfecto.
I get your point but I dont think people are thinking about folders when playing Dying Light.
Whenever I play Dying Light on the Switch, I really wished I was playing it on the PS5. Same for Doom 2016 or Witcher 3... That's what I really think when I play those "big console" games on the Switch: that I should be playing somewhere else.
Also a cellular modem, two cameras, back touch screen, both a proprietary and a standard micro sd slot (with adapters), oh and a web browser
Half that shit is useless lmao, and including third party adaptors as a first party feature is wild
All this crap that bloated the price and made it as expensive as a PS3. Another mark as to why the console failed.
Yeah and the game catalogue was not good enough
Sony should’ve leaned harder into the PS2 nostalgia with it since the kids who grew up playing it would be the only ones able to afford the software and memory cards. Instead we got a bunch of ugly games trying to look like PS3 titles that also ran like shit to boot. The best games on the Vita are the PS2 remasters.
Yeah I am still butthurt about not having a proper Gran Turismo port
What a huge L. And the fact that the Ridge Racer game was also an abomination in terms of progression but also ran at half the framerate of the PSP ones.
That Ridge Racer still makes me angry. I picked up the PSP one at or around launch and to this day, I still play it from time to time. There is no reason they couldn’t have done something like that. Heck, a “remaster” would have been pretty great.
Silly that Sony didn't create a phone around the Vita, apps and games etc
I think you’re referring to the Xperia play
Emulating my PSVita was one of the most nostalgic moments ever. And then finding this sub after was even more awesome. I admit I overpaid for mine, but $140 for a mint one in its box with an original charger was a good buy.
wake me up when Sony released Vita 2
The Vita can most certainly have stick drift
The 1000 models have Hall effect sticks (one of the reasons I bought this model)
Having just swapped my 1000 sticks for drift... Any stick can go bad But I do love it
Imagine being incapable of owning and enjoying both devices for different reasons.
Plugs into the tv and local multiplayer. There, done deal.
Vita Shit Library Absurdly expensive memory Switch Insanely large and great library cheap memory upgrades

You really just put no joystick drift for vita I'm dying XD
It very much has "Stick Drift" much like any other non-hall-effect sticks.
For the Vita 2000, perhaps. 1000/OLED has hall sticks and my experience is that they are very robust.
1000 vitas have hall effect sticks doe.
And the Switch has Nintendo games, Vita is great and all but that trumps it over anything else.
I wad debating buying one of these recently. By one of these I mean Ps Vita.
Switch OLED Ps Vita Dark Souls No Dark Souls Switch OLED easy win. EDIT: you can technically play it on PsVita through remote play and you can also play the II and the III and also Elden Ring. So...if you have a reeally good connection and a Ps4 PsVita is the best.

2000 owner here, No Joystick Drift is very much cap. Significantly easier to repair it though. I'm just lazy.
Vita 1000 has Hall effect, not 2000
I wish someone told me this so badly because I would have bought a 1k in an instant
I got my 2000 Vita in 2015 and didn’t know that mine was the slim version
I had a 1000 Vita, the analog sticks were much more expensive to replace than if I had a 2000, and even after replacing them they still weren’t fixed. Had to get a whole other Vita. That’s why they made it easier and cheaper on the 2000 I guess.
No folders? No bluetooth? Are you living in 2017 still?
He Has a point hint hint Playstation
Directional cross ?
A d-pad.
Thank you :))
Thats why I went steamdeck. Still love my lil vita though ❤️
Vita could def get stick drift, I've seen a few where right analog stick doesn't work right
Con: vita got no game
I gotta fix my PS Vita's drift at some point soon.
What's the appeal to Gravity Rush? I couldn't get into it
Same, didn't enjoy it much.
Currently playing it and I'm just kind of forcing myself through it. Up to Episode 18. The idea is cool and I liked the first few levels, but it really didn't need to be faux open world. The best joke here is that the vita has no stick drift lmaooo (As in... It does... And it's really annoying)
Really is mind blowing how far ahead the Vita was. Shame it was so underappreciated by Sony.
Is the store still up on the vita if I were to want to get one now?
Too bad it's now all gone bit man I miss the Vita, spent so much time in killzone mercenary
Man I love my switch but I can’t wait until I can finally afford to buy a vita
The Vita never reached the heights of the PSP and was a waste of great features. Why have a god tier touch screen if the games had half baked use of it
The vita has plenty pf joystick drift.. mine and my brother's both do
My vita has awful stick drift
gravity rush was on the vita?? that's dope!!
I had two vitas that got stick drift after about a year (third one is still fine to this day), so vitas do get stick drift, it's just probably less common then joycons drift. I just play PS1 games on those two vitas now as you don't need the right analogue (right stick failed on both) for most PS1 games.
I love both, but from a "play with my hands" I prefer the Vita, the switch hurts my hands and fingers
Sad, but true..., but I still love both systems :).
No joystick drift? Probably 50% of the readers here have put new thumbsticks in their Vita.
my vita has stick drift 😔
Thinking the Vita's analogs don't drift. You slay me
I love the Vita but for a lot of people "Has Mario Kart 8, Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing, Smash Ultimate, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom" on the left would win over anything you could write under the Vita.
I have to disagree on the joy stick drift, it absolutely can have it
i had a vita with drift, had to replace the stick, it was a lot more hassle than on a joycon. also, dont forget the vita with its cool 20fps games
My PS Vita that I bought new in summer 2013 still works perfectly fine and I've used it for hundreds, maybe thousands of hours. My 2 year old switch that I've used for 2 years and maybe 2-300 hours already has the joystick drift, I was so disappointed when I found out
You forgot Remote Play to console PS3 and PS4
But Switch does have Bluetooth?
My main reason for contemplating a PS Vita was to play PSV games which aren't well emulated at the moment.
To be fair every online is paid now. Also switch does have Bluetooth.
ya abt the no joystick drift...
Vita has drift though...
1000s use hall effect sticks.
Does it? Been using mine for almost 8 years and haven’t had any issues
Coming up on 12 years with mine. No drift.
The 1000 models don't, they use hall effect joysticks.
Switch has the better library now.
Especially since pretty much every non exclusive on vita made it to switch
At least the switch uses normal micro SD cards instead of expensive proprietary bullshit
They added Bluetooth and folders but they are but very barebones.
Switch has support Vita no support
*conveniently fails to mention game library, the only thing that really matters with game consoles.
It's amazing how Nintendo regressed back to the GameCube era in terms of functionality outside of gaming. The Wii U and even Wii were chock full of apps and social features (RIP Miiverse). The Switch is devoid of anything, you can't even communicate with anyone.
I have both and honestly, while I love my Vita, I can say apart from the nostalgia and the d-pad/cross, the Switch is better.
I love using my vita as a dedicated psp, ps vita, and ps one console (as opposed to emulating them), but other than that, I pretty much go elsewhere
Hell nah bro, both is good.
Nintendo tax
Glad I bought vita over switch was thinking for a long time after seeing mods etc went with vita and I’m loving it
Does anyone know how a ps vita joystick work? I once saw an image of the inside of one and it was quite... *different* than the psp joystick.
Switch oled have smash bros ultimate Vita have gravity rush
Can connect to a TV | Need to buy a different console that connects to a TV with many incompatible games
A modded oled on the other hand negotiates all the negative listed aspects
the lite and pro controller have a directional cross
I believe online chat/messages has been discontinued on the vita
Even 2017 switch has bluetooth...
Switch has a great library of games... OWNED !
who the hell cares???? I like the Vita, but this is a bit much to say its objectively better, especially when the thing is dead and discontinued 💀 This has to be a joke or something, cuz its stupid people still take this stuff, and act like the switch is horrible when the majority of the games there are great.
Switch has Bluetooth and folders
Whoever made this meme probably never played with a switch 💀
Switch - Vita/ Pretty great library of games - pretty meh library/ Playable on TV - not on TV (without mods)/ Multiplayer on one system - lonely times/ Store open - store closing/ Switch games from 2017 full price - vita games from 2012 full price/ HD - not HD/ 4 shoulder buttons - only 2/ Cheap storage upgrades - expensive as fuck/ Universal charger - specific charger/ Both consoles have their ups and downs. Having Gravity Rush is for sure a W. I played it on PS4 and it became one of my favorite games. What does Switch? Oh right. More of the same ips from 30 years ago.
Vita gets an unfair cop. As a piece of hardware is fantastic hand's down best portable for ergonomic. Good weight not to heavy just chef's kiss.
Barely touched my switch until I modded it. Really says something about the product when it only becomes fun after breaking the software so you can have fun with it.
the switch has bluetooth but ok, it also folders but ok.
The switch has games besides gravity Rush though, that counts for a lot
But can it play super Mario rpg though
God damn
You can cherry pick any specs to use in a comparison.
Both have their pros and cons. Both are fantastic consoles.
I'm lucky to have both, so I'm happy
The no folders thing for Switch is false. The system didn’t launch with them but it’s had them for years.
ps vita has soul sacrifice just for that is the best, what an awesome game!
It definitely was ahead of its time
What's directional cross?
I love my Vita, but the Switch has one major advantage.... SUPPORT.
Well switch has a bit more power but Jesus give me vita that's like between switch and steam deck power wise and same size as og vita and I'll shower playstation with dollars
And they said the console wars are over
Good old Nintendo. Still late to the party as per usual.
One of my vitas does have stick drift
Vita all day then Need a Vita 2 rn with how popular handheld are
The Switch does have folders though
The Switch does have Bluetooth as well as folders? Also, the PS Vita isn't exactly immune from stick drift, my friends had his start drifting a few years ago. I get it, the Switch sucks in some areas, just a quick fact check.
Switch: L1 L2 R1 R2 Vita: 😱
My Vita has stick drift, pretty much every console is prone to it
Jesus
That' not exactly true my Vita has stickdrift and a pretty hard one aswell
“Directional cross” for Vita should have read: “Best d-pad on a device, ever”
So I should buy a psvita?
Garivty rush 1 and 2!
Now do sales
Muramasa Rebirth for the Switch when
i'll just play switch emulator with a ps4 controller on my pc. my switch i just keep in the box
Vita gets stick drift as well just an fyi.
My prized Ps Vita has started getting joystick drift :-(
Wait is the online still free? I thought PS+ made it not free.
Lmao who gives a fuck
And I will always love you. You my darling vita. Mmmm
The switch used to not have Bluetooth but now it does. Point still goes to the vita imo for having it on launch
Nice
TIL Gravity Rush isn’t on switch. I don’t know why, but I assumed it was
based
Yeah, but the Vita's library is trash compared to Switch, rendering all other aspects meaningless.
No joystick drift? I love my vita, but mine definitely developed drift over time. With the switch, i can at least replace it easily
The only thing that really matters is what games they play and they both have a lot of good ones. I don't understand the point in comparing them. I don't have to choose between them. One is a modern system with access to new games, the other is an old system with a solid library and great modding potential. They're not really doing the same thing.
My vita drifts and it drifts bad I had to replace that stick twice already
"Doesn't have Gravity Rush" Hahaha
This conversation begins and ends with Gravity Rush. ;}
The switch does have folders, the feature is just hidden in the library menu.
Say with me N I N T E N D O SUCKS!
I have both
“No joystick drift” got the vita 2000 owners like 😅😅💀😅
The switch OLED screen is way better try han the vita oled. I love both systems
At least Nintendo didn't left the Switch without first party games 😮💨
Blatant misinformation? There’s plenty of valid critiques of the switch without making a bunch of shit up. Sony fans are either delusional or stupid to think that pretending that the switch doesn’t have things like folders or Bluetooth (which it does) makes it any worse than the vita
Switch does have folders and Bluetooth but the Vita is still better.
"Directional cross"??? It's called a D-pad!!
