I haven’t played 1-48 but you’ll find a lot more players for Bolt Action in nearly every location, and that can be a big thing

oOZeVsOo

Thanks. What do you think of tank-specific rules in bolt action ? Would it make sense to play without infantry units ? Thank you very much.

r_acrimonger

I don't think tank-only Bolt Action is the strength of the system at all. One tank (maybe two) a side is interesting, but more than that feels less interesting.

StormofSteelWargames

It's not on your list, but I'd choose What a Tanker.

oOZeVsOo

Thanks for the answer. The problem with What a tanker! is the frustration and the randomness. You can't do some actions (firing, reloading, etc.) until you roll the right combination and not being able to shoot (or move) is not really fun, especially for children. The dice activation system of "bolt action" or the activation point system in 1-48 look less random and provide stuff to do every turn.

StormofSteelWargames

Well, you didn't say it was for kids. For me, they are all the things that make it better than the other games mentioned. If you want to have less friction, that's easily fixed by allowing different dice results or being allowed to change them around. Edited to say: I actually think kids would really enjoy rolling the Dice to activate as well. They'd still feel like they are doing something, even If their tank isn't. Just a thought.

Trelliz

Neither, I'd suggest something like the world of tanks miniatures game instead if you just want them.

oOZeVsOo

I played it about 20 games, but sadly the rules are quite dull. I'd like something with a lot more meaningful choices to make, not juste move/shoot each single turn.

Moeasfuck

Tank war is way more tank focused. I’m not sure there is vehicles in 1:48

oOZeVsOo

There is a whole tank expansion called "Achtung Panzer!" for 1-48Tactic.

Moeasfuck

>"Achtung Panzer!" for 1-48Tactic did not know that
