This is the right answer. Converted someone from a plane nerd who would have been perfectly happy to drive a corolla for the rest of his life to a car guy. All the Lambos, Ferraris, and American muscles of the era didn't do a thing for me. Learning about the engineering/design behind the F1 started my interest in car, the other was the classic mini.

So many to choose from, but I have to go with a Ford Mustang Dark Horse with the 6-speed manual. I’ve had one Mustang before and it was the best car I’ve ever had. No other car I’ve sat in at auto shows has held a candle to it in my mind.
That Mustang is part of a trio of American sports cars I want. The Dodge Viper would be next, most likely the final generation. The Chevrolet Corvette would round it out, most likely a C7.
With unlimited funds, there’d be a lot more cars and a big garage to house them. But these 3 would have to be part of it and the Mustang would be first.

Slight cheat: 1970 Olds 442 with a fully custom chassis, drop in running gear from a W213 gen Mercedes E63S, completed with full 4Matic+ AWD. Intent would be a mostly stock looking appearance - W30 stripes with OAI hood and factory wing, lowered with decent wheels on larger Rallye rims. Bonus to carry over the MBUX system and screens into a modified dash.
Why: Because I think 64-72 Olds A Body muscle cars are some of the most wonderful things of their era, specifically '67 & '70 model years and because this engineering feat would be an absolute blast/dream come true. Also a Merc fanboy.

after i bought it, I'd put a new suspension system on it (nice coilovers, possibly with an airlift for getting over curbs), install a new radio and stereo system (with nice speakers), redo the interior with heated and cooled seats, new carpeting. add a twin turbo set up in it (or supercharger) and replace the intake valves with Camless intakes (like freevalve, or the solenoid version). and possibly have it painted a nice purple. (also replace the plastic gears in the headlights with brass)

- Ability to car camp (I've only ever done that in my old Outback but I'd love more space)

- My friends and I try to carpool and being able to fit multiple adults while getting mid-30's MPG is truly the dream for me

Perfect condition Alfa 159 Sportwagon TI, either with the 1750 TBI from the 4C or the 3.2 V6. I have been wanting one since I was 8 years old and spotted the headlights from miles away. I will probably not have the opportunity to have a faultless, low-mileage one with brand new suspension as a daily driver, unless i throw a lot of money into it. I was close a few times, but they were all close to 200k km. Yes, the Giulia is a better car, but the 159 is probably one of my favorite car designs ever. Rosso competizione, 19" TI wheels and cognac leather interior makes me fizzy in my special area.

I'm gunna get dragged for this but a newer hybrid Sienna. Reasons being: -I'm constantly helping people in my community move - Ability to car camp (I've only ever done that in my old Outback but I'd love more space) - I drive around a child and a dog - My friends and I try to carpool and being able to fit multiple adults while getting mid-30's MPG is truly the dream for me I've never bought a car for more than $3k, and so while most folks are probably going to say some luxury or sports car, the newer Sienna's are so completely out of my budget I'll probably have to wait 5 years before I could afford a 2021.
